"Poe Memoratus in Aeternum" Artist Trading Block by LCDesigner Leigh

Leigh here...It's my turn again to share a project and today I'm paying homage to Edgar Allan Poe who died on this day in 1849.  I designed an artist trading block in "memoratus in aeternum" to Poe which is Latin for "remembered unto the eternal".  I used 3 of our new Lost Coast Designs stamps on this one:  Gears, Large Perspective Grid and the ATC Doodle Circles from the ATC Doodles Circles set, as well as Bird Bones, Skull Flourish, Raven with Tree Branches and our fangtastic Edgar Allan Poe portrait stamp from our Carmen's Veranda line.  The Nevermore text is also a Carmen's Veranda stamp but isn't up on the site so if you're interested in that one inquire about it when you place your next an order.

Here's a closer look at each side of my Poe ATB!

Karen created this scare-ific card using Lost Coast Designs new ATC sized Doodles Circles from the ATC Doodles set.  You can also see our large Doodles Circles background counterpart further down on the new page too!  The focal point of her fun card is the delightful Carmen's Veranda Pumpkin Scarecrow!  

He seems friendly right?  Look, he's even smiling at you....um..are those teeth?  Hmmm, I think I'd avoid wandering around a cornfield in the dark and school buses, definitely avoid school buses....jeepers creepers and all that!  Eeeek!

Challenge #29 - SCARY or WEIRD

 Our OCTOBER CHALLENGE starts today instead of the usual 1st Monday of the month and closes October 31st at 5 to midnight PST!  We're giving you lots more time to play with us this month and have TWO PRIZES to give away!

"7 Gates to Purgatory" by moi...Leigh S-B

I'm kicking off the proceedings with my altered wooden container that was a match made in Heaven Hell to feature our New Release Stamp, RIP!  The geometric sides of the container are actually coffin shaped and it has seven sides so I could not resist the Seven Deadly Sins theme.  All the text was computer generated and coloured with a metallic gold gel pen.

The votive candle glow represents the Cleansing Fire of Purification

Here it is in all it's colourful crackled glory with skull beads for feet

YAY, we did it, we survived our 1st Smeared Ink 31 Days of Halloween blog hop!
WOW, I can't believe Halloween is here already!  What a spooktacular October it has been!  I want to thank my fellow amazing LCDesigners for creating all the faBOOlous creations you've been enjoying every day!  They really did an amazing job and I'm so proud to have such a talented, fun loving and dedicated bunch of ladies to create with!

Thank you to all of YOU who visited us each day and to those who popped in when they could, we appreciate all your wonderful comments!   We hope you have enjoyed visiting us, have seen lots of Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda stamps you need to add to your collections and are now followers of our blog because the fun never ends here at Lost Coast Portal to Creativity ;0)

Today's finale project is by me, LCDesigner Leigh...I'm back with an Apothecary altered bottle encrusted with stamped clay and altered dominoes featuring stamps from 
Carmen's Veranda - Skulls and Bones background
Lost Coast Designs - Skull Flourish

Belladonna Dropps anyone?  Take only one though coz more causes a mild case of death!

Here's a close look at each clay stamped panel made from Das Air Dry Clay and painted with black acrylic paint and then dry brushed with cream and white.  The slots for the dominoes were cut out while the clay was wet.  Each domino is simply stamped with black StazOn ink.  I added the Wiccan symbols for Earth, Water, Fire and Air to the forehead of each skull with an ultra fine black Sharpie marker.  I hand wrote the Apothecary bottle label as well.  Embellishments are minimal with a simple dangle made with silver cord, two black beads and two ivory skull beads.
