It's Day 3 of the 31 Days of Halloween here at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity.  If you are hopping along you should have arrived from Stampendous Stamps.  The complete hop list is in the sidebar in case you get lost or want to hop back and start at the beginning.  Wouldn't want you to miss any of the Halloween fun.  Bwahahahahaaha.

Gail here today with the die-lectible Frank
This is a 6 x 4 journal card.  I keep meaning to do a little Project Life, or maybe in this case,
Project Un-Dead Bwahahaahahaaa.
I stamped and embossed Carmen's Veranda Frank and gave him some lovely baby blues.  I cut around Frank's head so I could slip my Sizzix mixed media dies behind him.  I stamped Lost Coast Designs Bubble Background stamp on white card and embossed with yellow powder.  Then I used blue ink on one half and grey ink on the other and backed the die cut spaces.  The letters were cut using Sizzix alpha dies.

Don't forget to leave us a little love so we know you dropped by.  We also have loads of chances to win Lost Coast dollars.  Loads!!  Link up your projects to these fun challenges:
On The Border Event - use border stamps - til 14th October
31 Days Of Halloween - share your Halloween projects - til 31st October
Animals Challenge -  use an animal or 3 - til 25th October

Now you need to hop along to TEE

Have a spooktacular day.  Hugz

31 Days of Halloween - The Skeleton Dance - Day 1

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Welcome one and all to Lost Coast Designs/Carmen's Veranda 31 Days of Halloween.  Yes, we are participating in the blog hop once again this year and have 31 days full of projects to share.  I'm going to include the blog roll below, so don't forget to hop along with all the participants.  Some will be giving away prizes along the way and yes, we are one of those that will.

For a chance to win some LCD/CV rubber link your entry below by midnight, October 31st.  See the RULES to make sure your entry qualifies.

I'm going to kick it off my with my ATC called The Skeleton Dance.  I recently watched an old 1929 black and white cartoon short called The Skeleton Dance.  When I came across the Dancing Skeletons stamp set I knew what I was going to do.  A homage to that awesome cartoon.

To begin, I stamped CV Skulls and Bones in white on an ATC I had painted black.  I then whited out the area I wanted my skeleton to go, stamped the Dancing Skeleton on a piece of cardstock, cut it out, and added it to the white space.  I then added dots of orange ink around the edges.  I am in a black and white with a touch of orange Halloween ATC swap and this fits the bill perfectly.  Finally, I printed out The Skeleton Dance on my computer, cut it out, and added it to my piece.

If you want to watch the short, click HERE.
Now, your turn.  Hop on along with the below Wicked Bloggers.  I have also posted the blog roll in our sidebar to make it easier to find.

One of Your Five A Day

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps.  Gail here with some ATC's and an idea for your border stamps.

I've used Lost Coast Designs Dominos Border, the central image from Lost Coast Designs Large Tigger Shrine and the fantabulous sentiment from Carmen's Veranda.  Have you checked out the Carmen Veranda clear sentiments??  They rock!!

I started by cutting my ATC's from black card using a Sizzix die.  Then I stamped the Dominos Border 6 times on each ATC and embossed with white powder.  I edged with versamark ink and embossed with white powder again.
Psssst!  This border stamp is on sale at $1!!!  What can you get for $1???   Some beautiful 8" long Borders at Lost Coast Designs!!   Go check em out!

I stamped the Large Tigger Shrine and fussy cut the central image.  There are so many details on this stamp.  Isn't that a fun little art doll?!  I stamped the Apple A Day sentiment, cut it up a bit and edged the pieces with black archival ink.

Solitude can be good.

 Fruit and exercise.  Sounds healthy.

Thanks for visiting.  Why not join our On the Border Event for a chance to win some Lost Coast Dollars.  Use your border stamps in an unusual way.  Or maybe even a usual way!!   See you there.  Hugz

Bingo! on The Border

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

On the Border Event at LCD Portal to Creativity

Hi all - Laurie here.  I've had a lot of fun with the On the Border event taking place here on the Portal to Creativity.   LCD has so many great border stamps - really simple ones and some really elaborate ones that you can even just use portions of.

The sample here uses the Raven with Tree Branches stamp and the Bingo Border stamp

I have a stash of background papers I keep on hand, most of which I have made with my Gelli plate.  This background is one of those and I used yellow, orange and copper acrylic paints and then a couple of stencils and impression plates to create the design.  I stamped the Raven right onto my background with black ink and stamped the Bingo border along the lower edge.  I cut out two of the Bingo chips and mounted them to the upper left corner with foam tape so they stand out a bit.  Using some simple letter stamps, I stamped the word "BINGO' onto a white strip edged black ink, edged it with black, and attached it with foam tape.  I layered my work onto black card stock then with rough edged watercolor paper.

This would make a great Halloween card!  All the right colors for Halloween and that Raven brings Edgar Allen Poe to mind!

You can link up your On The Border projects until 14th October.
Happy Creating!

Bubble border

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!
Cathy here with a card for our Border event.

First off I want to thank our own DT Iona for this idea for a card. I stared off with some watercolor paper and some Nuance watercolor powers.
Next I stamped the bubble border on the paper twice. Then I started cutting them out. I left one main one as the stamp is and the second one I cut apart. Laying the main full one in the middle and then I picked different strips from the second on I cut up laying it on either side from the middle. I did this till I got a full card how I like it.
Last but not least I stamped the Skeleton on black paper and used white embossing power. Cut around the image and used foam squares to rise it up.
Ta-Da my card is done. I say grab your border stamps and try them a new way. Mine I didn't even use as a border.
