Basket of Eggs

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!  Gail here today with a little inspiration for the current I Am Woman challenge.  Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda have so many lovely ladies.  Grab your stamps and join us.  We need at least 20 entries to award the prize, and I do so love giving away Linda's stamps LOL.
I've gone for a clean and simple design today, but I had great fun colouring Lost Coast Designs Harvest Angel.  Since Easter is approaching I coloured her in bright spring colours and gave her a basket of pastel colour eggs.  I stamped the background using one of the Pieces of Calligraphy stamps with yellow ink.  I stamped Harvest Angel on a piece of white card, coloured and fussy cut it.  Gotta love a square fussy cut LOL.  Then I stamped part of Carmen's Veranda Queen of Everything stamp to get the Happy Birthday.
I hope you get time to join the I Am Woman challenge and don't forget to check all the wonderful inspiration from the team here on the blog.  Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Frida

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Welcome, Darlene here with my first make of the month with the theme

'I am Woman'

So who better to start off with than Frida Kahlo !!!!
There are several stamps to choose from, she was so famous for doing self portraits.

This image I stamped onto acetate with staz on ink.
layered onto white cardstock

The flower background is paper napkin ironed onto cardstock ( just place some plastic wrap inbetween and iron makes great backgrounds)

So lots of layers to make it all pop

Upload your I AM WOMAN make - maybe win some rubber.
Just remember to have some stamping on your card

#194 - Fruit, Flowers, and Foliage Challenge!

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Greetings! It's Kathi here to share a project for February's February Fruit, Flowers, and Foliage Challenge #194 on an odd day! I'm an absent minded crazy cat lady and didn't post on my scheduled day. Bad me.

Here's my card created with the gorgeous Grunge Cat Rubber Stamp which is one of the beautiful silhouette rubber stamps available at  Lost Coast Designs.

The Grunge Cat Rubber Stamp was inked with Obsidian Black Amalgam Ink and stamped onto a panel of white cardstock and onto repositionable sticker paper.

The Grunge Cat was colored with colored with Copic markers, then the stamped sticker paper version was fussy-cut and placed over its counterpart on the image panel as a mask.

A piece of tape was placed horizontally across the bottom part of the image panel. Tumbled Glass Distress Ink was brushed over the tape and the cat to color the background on the top part of the image panel.

The tape was moved to cover the top part of the image panel. Shabby Shutters Distress Ink was brushed over the tape to cover the bottom part of the image panel and ground the Grunge Cat. The ink was brushed more heavily right under the tape and under the cat's paws and tail to create shadow.

The image panel was cut with a deckled rectangle cutting die and matted with black cardstock cut slightly larger.

The Grunge Cat's mask was removed. A white paint pen was used to add an eye to the cat's face. When dry, a pale blue paint pen was used to color the eye. When that layer of paint was dry, the pupil was drawn onto the cat's eye. Several layers of Glaze pen were used to add dimension and shine to the Grunge Cat's blue eye.

The flowers on green patterned paper were originally light pink with a white center, so I used a Copic marker to darken the pink to match the flowers on the stamped Grunge Cat. I also used a blue Copic marker to add a blue to the center of the flower. This piece of patterned paper was cut twice with the same deckled rectangle die, and both pieces were edged with the green distress ink.

A piece of floral patterned paper was trimmed to 4.25" x 6" and edged with a black pen to create the background layer. The two small deckled were adhered to the background panel, the matted image panel die-cut was adhered over the deckled rectangle die-cuts as shown, and the card front was adhered to a black card.

You still have a little more time to create a Fruit, Flowers, or Foliage project this month. I hope you share a project for a chance to win Lost Coast Cash!

Thanks for visiting today!

#194 Fruit, Flowers and Foliage challenge.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi there, Riet here.
Here is a tutorial for this slimline card.
I just love the pineapple stamp.
It's a whopping 6 inches/15 centimeters.
And so much fun to color.

What I used for this card.

Inktense pencils
Distress oxide,
Peacock Feathers.
Distress ink,
Wild Honey,
Iced Spruce,
Twisted Citron,
Peacock feathers.
Black waterproof inkpad.
Foamtape
Stencil with tropical leaves.
Yellow Posca marker.
Brayer.

Use the brayer to apply the four colours distressink,
Wild Honey,
Iced Spruce,
Twisted Citron,
Peacock feathers to the paper.

Take a stencil with tropical leaves and the Distress oxide Peacock feathers,
we stencil the bottom half of the paper.
And also the two top corners.

I also stenciled a line along the open areas with very small flowers.

While the leaves are drying we stamp the pineapple with black waterproof ink.
I colored the pineapple with Derwent inktense pencils,
but you can also use other pencils or markers.

On a strip of leftover paper, stamp the text.
Sponge some small flowers.
Distress the edges with Distress Oxide peacock feathers.

Finish with a black background.
With the yellow Posca marker you make a yellow dot in the little flowers.
Now you can stick all the parts on the background with foam tape.
And glue a black background underneath.

That's it for this time.
I hope you enjoyed it.
Did you also make something with fruit, flowers or/and foliage?
Then feel free to join our challenge.
Click on the link and voila, you're there.
You can join with all brands of stamps.
It doesn't necessarily have to be stamped with LCD or CV stamps.
Read the rules first, then you avoid disappointment.
Hope to see you there, until next time.

Be amazing

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Good afternoon, all Cathy here with a 4x5 card for you today.

Stamps Used:
Tree crown

I started out by putting some pink distress oxide on the craft mat and spraying it with some rubbing alcohol and it made the ink color pop but not really turn oxide. I wanted to see what would happen.
Next, I stamped the Daisy flourish with the same pink distress oxide ink around the card.

I then made a little tag and stamped the tree crown on it with black and the around the edge I stamped the Daisy flourish in the pink ink. I then added a strip of black cardstock to the middle and added the tag on top.

Fruit, Flower & Foliage: A Dutch card! ;-)

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello lovely people, Liesbeth here again. Our current challenge is Fruit, Flower & Foliage and as a Dutchie I would love to show you the Tulip! I love the Carmens Veranda Tulip stamp so much!

First, using a rainbow ink pad,  I stamped the LCD background stamp Flowers on an inked piece of cardstock. With StazOn ink I stamped the Tulip twice (I masked the first) and bleached them. I coloured the tulips with colour pencils and I stamped the sentiment from Party Words.

A very Dutch card I think! Hope you participate this flowery challenge, see you next time!

Life is Good

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi there Lost Coast fans - Darlene here with another February make in the
Fruit, Flowers & Foliage theme

For this make I used a couple of stamps.  First for the Background the

I embossed onto the cardstock with clear embossing powder then used my distress inks.
Emboss resist technique. Did a few drips of water for more texture.

Then I fussy cut out the 'Happy Cat' (one of my fav stamps)
Left him in black and white
Layered onto the background design

Punched out some flowers, put a wee bling on each one.

Then I thought this guy looks so content - so ya - life is good.

Be sure to enter your make on our challenge site and maybe win some new rubber !!  Check it out! You don't need a blog or anything - just upload your creation.  easy peasy.

#194, Fruit, Flowers and Foliage challenge.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi, Riet here,
the challenge is this month, Fruit, Flowers and Foliage.

Stamps I used.
Versafine Onyx black
Color pencils, Green and red
Fine-Tec 1240 pearlescent
White gelpen
Masking tape

I started with stamping the Frida collage and 1 rose.

Mask the stamps off.

Stamp the rose two more times in different lengths.
Mask the roses.

Stamp the florisches.

Color the roses.

Paint the pearlescent on the rose petals, but not the entire petal.

Do the same with the Frida collage stamp.

It's a shame that you cant see the shine on the photo,
because it is very pretty in real life.

The team would love it if you would show your fruit, flowers or foliage makes.
You can do that if you join the challenge.
You don't even have to use the stamps of Lost Coast Designs.
As long as you stamp on your project.
You also have a chance to win new rubber stamps.
So join and have a chance to win.
