Hello Portal Peeps.

It's halfway through June and time for a mid-month blast of inspiration from the team for our Colour Challenge.  Our challenges are now monthly!  A new challenge starting the 1st every month, with chances to win Lost Coast dollars.   This month we are all about the colours Lemon and Lime OR Terracotta and Turquoise.

CHALLENGE #198

COLOUR CHALLENGE

We want to see your stamped anythings featuring the colours
LEMON AND LIME or TERRACOTTA AND TURQUOISE.
You can pick which colour scheme you want to use.  You can include black and white and a small splash of other colours if you must, but the main colours should be obvious.
Real rubber or clear stamping and the theme must be the focus of your project.  A small stamped sentiment in a sea of die cuts or digi images will not qualify to win the prize and you may be deleted!!!!  Bwahahhaaahaha.

Please read the updated Challenge Rules to ensure your entries qualify to win this month's prize!

You are welcome to play in our Challenges using rubber stamp images from any company but if you use any of our Lost Coast Designs or Carmen's Veranda stamps...we love it when you do...then you could win a bigger prize in our random prize drawing.  All winners get our snazzy Challenge Winner's Badge to proudly display on their blogs!

If you don't have a blog then no prob, you can still play in our challenges by sharing your projects from public photo sharing sites which includes our Facebook Company Pages for Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda.  Please include our Challenge info and the link back to our challenge in your photo's description!  As long as the privacy setting for your photo is public you're good to go.  See, it's so easy to join the fun!  FYI, you can't link up projects shared in closed Facebook groups!

Here's the inspiration from the team.  ENJOY!

Aimee used Carmen's Veranda Pear Square

Just Citrus

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!!   Gail here today with some more Lemon and Lime inspiration.  This month we are asking you to pick a colour scheme between Lemon and Lime or Turquoise and Terracotta.   The choice is yours!  Your anything should feature mostly your two chosen colours and don't forget to stamp.
I've kept it simple and used the lovely Jester Square by Carmen's Veranda coloured with green and yellow distress watercolouring.  I stamped the Happy Birthday and Do I smell cake? from Lost Coast Designs Party Words using Prickly Pear archival ink.

Grab your stamps and pick your colour scheme and join the fun.   We give a real rubber stamp prize to our randomly picked winner, but we do need at least 20 entries to award the prize, so tell your friends and get stamping!!

Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Colour Challenge: Art Journal Page ,Magic'.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi everyone! Liesbeth here again, today I made a journal page for our Colour Challenge. I coloured an old book page with gesso and a leave and also with Terra cotta and turqoise inks and stamped The Victoriana stamps, the text from Dream, Magic, Love and pieces of the Flagstone Background with black ink. To finish the page I used white gel pen, bleach and charcoal. I glued the page in one of my altered books.

Hope you like this idea and join us with a colourful piece of art! See you next time,

June Color Combo Challenge #198

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Greetings! You've got Kathi here to share a card created for June's Color Combo Challenge 198. There are two options for this challenge. You can use Lime, Lemon, and Black or Terracotta, Turquoise and Black.

I opted to use the Lime, Lemon, and Black combination and the Carmen Elaine Rubber Stamp by Carmen's Veranda.

Here's my card!

Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp Carmen Elaine twice — once onto white cardstock and once onto repositionable sticker paper. Fussy-cut the sticker paper version and set her aside.

Color Carmen Elaine with Copic markers. Adhere the fussy-cut sticker version atop her counterpart on the image panel as a mask.

Position a long rectangle die over the image panel and secure it low-tack tape. Run the die through your machine and carefully slide the die and the cardstock combination onto your surface, add more low-tack tape to secure the die in place, and flip the combo. Add low-tack tape to secure the die-cut to the back of the cardstock panel.

Flip the combination to the front side. Adhere repositionable Scotch Tape over the base of the die-cut combination. Sponge or brush Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink over the die onto the image panel die-cut. Place a circle/rays stencil over the top of the image panel die-cut, secure with magnets, and brush the same yellow Distress ink over the stencil onto the die-cut panel to add rays over and around Carmen Elaine's head.

Remove the repositionable Scotch Tape and brush or sponge Twisted Citron Distress ink over the bottom of Carmen Elaine's dress and the panel to ground her.

Remove the die-cut image panel from the die. Run a line of Diamond Stickles onto the white border of the die-cut. Set the die-cut aside and let the Stickles dry.

While the Stickles is drying, cut a piece of the music patterned paper to 4" x 5.5" to create the background. Brush or sponge Verdant VersaFine Clair over the panel to change the color of the musical notation. Cut a strip of ticket patterned paper the width of the ticket by 5.5". Brush or sponge Verdant VersaFine Clair over the ticket strip to change the color and to edge the strip. Heat set both pieces of patterned paper. Adhere the ticket strip to the left side of the music notation paper. Trim the panel to 5.25" and edge it with Verdant VersaFine Clair Ink.

Adhere the background panel to a black A2 card. Adhere the Carmen Elaine image panel die-cut to finish the card.

I hope that you play along with June's Color Combo Challenge 198 for a chance to win Lost Cost Ca$h!

Thanks for visiting today!

Butterfly Reminder

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Happy June, everyone! Aimee here. Let's kick off this summer season with some flowers. Who remembers those fluttery feelings when the person we have a crush on shows interest in us? I'm lucky to still feel butterflies when my husband catches my eye from across the room. This card pays tribute to that!
The Lost Coast Portal to Creativity is hosting a June Challenge with two color schemes: Lemon/Lime and Turquoise/Terra Cotta. I used the Large Flourish stamp from Lost Coast Designs and Butterfly Reminder sentiment from Carmen's Veranda. Follow along with this photo tuturial to see how I put it together:
You have until the end of June to submit your creation to the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity using the two color schemes for this month's Challenge. Have fun! And happy stamping.

Are You Kidding Me? Bat Boy and Friends

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Greetings!  You've got Kathi here today on the last day of May to share a card created for the May's Are You Kidding Me? Challenge 197. I've used "Bat Boy" (my name for him) from the new Cartoon Kids Rubber Stamp Set by Lost Coast Designs.

Here it is!

Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp Bat Boy onto white cardstock. Fussy-cut him, color him with Copic markers, then edge him with a black marker. Use a white gel pen to add highlights to his eyes. Set him aside.

Use bright blue, darker blue, and dark grey inks to stencil clouds onto a 3.25" x 4.75" panel of white cardstock to create a cloudy night sky.

Sponge black ink over a bat stencil to add three sets of bats to the sky. They're Bat Boy's friends.

Sponge black ink over a dot patterned stencil to add flight trails to the sky. Go over the black dots with a black glitter pen to make his trail sparkly.

Adhere Bat Boy as shown.

Edge the background panel with black ink and adhere to a 3.5" x 5" black card. Adhere a sentiment sticker to finish the card.

You still have a bit of time to join our May's Are You Kidding Me? Challenge 197 for a chance to win Lost Coast Ca$h!

# 197 Are you kidding me challenge.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello dear blog visitors, this is Riet here with a new tutorial.

Today a card for the "Are you kidding me" challenge.
I chose the beautiful praying angel stamp from LCD.

What do you need to make this card?
A acrylic block, mine is heart shaped.

Black watergroof inkpad.
Distress ink and distress oxide:
Peacock feathers,
Worn lipstick,
Seedles preserves.
Color pencils, I used Derwent Intense.

I started by putting the 3 colors of distress ink on the acrylic block,
and spraying it with some water.
Print the block on the paper.

I did the same but with a clear plastic sheet.
Bend the sheet then you can make a nice stripe pattern with the 3 colors of ink.

I drew a line around the heart with a pencil.

Using the 3 colors of distress oxide,
stamp the background with the text stamp, the swirl and the circles.
On the bottem stamp de Ironworks border.

Stamp the flowers and color them and cut them out.
Do the same with the praying angel.

Make sure theat you have 3 sizes flowers.

Color the border and see where you want to stamp the text in the heart.
Make some spletters with the seedles preserves ink.

Place the flowers loose on the heart,
so that you can estimate where the text should go.
Stamp the daisy text and glue the angel on and than the flowers.
Matt the card and your finishend.

The challenge runs until the end of May.
So there are still a few days left to participate.
Maybe you will be our new winner.

Bloom Where You're Planted

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi stamping friends, Aimee here! We're celebrating children for the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity's May Challenge. Since I only have one stamp with the image of a child, I thought I'd use the Princess of Everything stamp in a different way than my previous post. Combined with one stamp from the Pieces of Calligraphy set, here's what I came up with:
Follow along with this photo tutorial to see how I created this card:
There's still a full week remaining in May for you to submit your creation featuring a child's image to the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity. Go for it! Maybe you'll win this month's prize.
