Funny or Cute: Buying Craft Supplies

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi!  It's Laurie here, nearing the end of this fun challenge:  Funny or Cute.  We have had some fabulous entries for this one, so you still have time to get your creations posted on the Portal for a chance to win some free stamps.

For this card I used the Head In Hands stamp from Lost Coast Designs and the Buy Craft Supplies clear stamp from Carmen's Veranda.  And anyone who is a serious crafter knows how true this sentiment is!!

The background I used is a piece of decorative rice paper that I adhered to white card stock with ModPodge then dried well.  I stamped the Head in Hands onto white card stock with black ink and cut it our.  Color was added using Copic Sketch markers, and the butterfly was fussy cut and affixed as shown with foam tape.  I layered this with some gold paper and attached it to the upper portion of my card front.

The sentiment was stamped with black ink onto a white panel edged with black and placed directly below the woman's image.

I love how this woman's image goes so perfectly with this sentiment, like she has given this great consideration and come to this amazing realization!!

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello everyone, Liesbeth here again! Today I´d love to show you another cute card to inspire you for our Funny and/or Cute Challenge. Join the fun, there's still a few days left!

I sponged overlapping areas of Disress inks (red, orange and yellow) on a white card.I stamped the Tulip Gnome using black StazOn ink and bleached it. I stamped the flowers of the ATC Doodles set With yellow and red StazOn in the corners and on the edges, and the sentiment with black (Party Words). I coloured the gnome with colour pencils and used a white gel pen on the flowers and words. I sponged the edges of the card with black ink and glued it onto yellow and pink cardstock.

Hope to see you next time! Have a nice day!

#146 Funny or cute challenge.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello stampers and crafters, Riet here.
For this challenge I chose to go cute.
I found the phrase of Carmens Veranda Stamps so adorable.
I thought they fit so well with the "Bride of Frank" stamp.
I have made for you a step by step how the card is made.
Well here we go.

What do you need:
CV stamp, Daisies in my hair.
Daisy punches.
Distress ink Spiced marmalade, Wild honey, Fossilized amber,
 Mustard seed, Dusty concord.
Stencil of a daisy or some branches or flowers.
Versafine onyx black.
Colour pencils or markers.

With the 4 colours Distress ink and the crackle background stamp,
 we make the background.
Start with the lightest colour and end with the darkest colour.
Turn the stamp around and around to make the crackles run together nicely.

Take your stencil and a blending brush or tool,
and ink the pattern with Distress ink Wild honey.

Stamp with Versafine onyx black Franks bride.
With a blending tool you now apply Distress ink Dusty Concord to the outsides of the card.
Well in the first picture it looks black, but it is really done with Dusty Concord.
Stamp the CV phrase with black.
Cut out the sentences.
Color the edges with an ink blending tool with Disterss ink Spiced Marmalade.

Take a piece of white paper and stamp Franks bride, colour her with your markers or pencils.
Punch out your daisies and colour the hearts yellow.
Now glue everything in place and your done.
I had great fun making this card,
I hope you do to.

The team would love it if you join the challenge.
Make something using stamps.
These may also be other brands,
but you have a better chance of winning with an LCD or CV stamp on your work.
Read the rules first to avoid disappointment.
I wish you much success and a lot of fun.

A fun hot mess

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello, all Cathy here with a card for you today.
Stamps Used:
I started off with some Kraft cardstock and a stencil. I didn't have a firework one, so I used one that kind of looks like one. I used distress oxide inks for it.
Next, I stamped Flying ballerina on some white cardstock and colored her with pencils and cut out. Added some washi tape for her to stand on.
I knew I wanted her in the bottom corner, so I took the Fun hot mess saying and stamped on top. After all was in place I added some glitter to the 'fireworks' and to her dress because she is full of it.

Don't forget you can join the challenge here

Over The Edge

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Good morning and a very happy Saturday! It's Sue here, with the second of my cards for our funny/cute challenge.

I started by cutting my layers for the card so that I knew how much room I had to play with. Then I stamped my Cat Border across the top and embossed in black.

I just love this cat! My first kitten was white so this just reminds me of her (it also makes it very easy to colour lol)

These are my lovely stamps, I've used

I hope you join in with our fun (or cute) challenge. Please remember we are a stamping challenge so this must be the focus of your entry. Don't forget there are Lost Coast $'s to be won!
Have a lovely weekend whatever you are doing, and thanks so much for looking x

Funny or Cute Challenge: Cats and A Flat Earth

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi ho from Laurie as we find ourselves having fun with the newest challenge:  Funny or Cute.  So wide open to so many possibilities, we are sure you will come up with some amazing makes.
This card was made with one of the cat stamps from the Party Cat Set from Lost Coast Designs and the Flat Earth clear stamp from Carmen's Veranda.  I've had this clear stamp for a while and finally found a great use for it!

The background here is a gel print made with white and green acrylic paints and a circle stencil.  I stamped my cat onto white card stock with black ink and fussy cut him out.  I restamped his party hat with green ink, cut it out, and affixed it atop his head.  I added a bit of green to his eyes and a handsome green bow tie.

The background piece was edged with green ink and layered with a piece of green scrapbook paper.  The sentiment was stamped onto a white square with black ink, edged in the same green, and affixed at the bottom of the card front.

We are excited to see what fun and cute things you can make for this challenge.  Be sure to feature rubber stamping in your projects - you might be the lucky winner of some free stamps!!

Tropical: Monkey in the jungle

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi everyone, Liesbeth here with our final Tropical blogpost. There's still a bit of time for you to participate!

I used a paper napkin for the tropical background:

I stamped Loopy Background onto a piece of  white cardstock (13 x 13 cm) using black waterproof ink. After that I glued the upper layer of the napkin onto the card with gel medium and after drying I coloured the white areas with yellow and green watercolour paint. I stamped Carmens Verandas Monkey Face on the card with black and painted it with white gesso (or white acrylic paint) I also stamped the monkey onto tissue paper, tore it out, and glued it onto the card with gel medium. I dried it with a heat tool and watercolour painted it (brown). I cut some flowers and leaves from printed scrappaper and sticked them around the monkeys head.

Hope to see you next time!

I blended a blue and yellow distress ink background.  I stamped the blue tone on tone with Lost Coast Designs Pondscum Background and the yellow tone on tone with Carmen's Veranda Sun Tiles Background.  I stamped, coloured and fussy cut Lost Coast Designs Swimsuit Girl, added her to the card and finished with Carmen's Veranda Live in the Sunshine sentiment.

I'm busy

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello all, Cathy here with a card for you.
Stamps used:
As you can tell I have no tropical stamps. So, I chose to do tropical colors. I started off with the mop up of from the background I made for the start of this challenge.

                                                                 This card.☝☝☝
I then took Small skeleton and stamped it in orange pink and yellow on the front of the card. Next I used a star stencil and added some orange paper glaze to go around the skeleton. Set that aside to dry.

On a scrap piece of cardstock I stamped Manga goth with tophat and colored her in with the same colors I used to stamp the Small skeleton in. I fussy cut her out. By that time the stars were dry so I added Manga goth with tophat to the middle of the card.

Lastly I stamped Magical shit  saying on some white cardstock and cut it apart and added some foam tape to make it stand out a bit and attached it to the card.

I hope you join the challenge here

#145, Its a tropical party.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi there, Riet here.
Today its my turn to post with a tropical theme.
I made a card with the pineapple and the Carmen dog from Carmens Veranda.
The background is made with the crackle background stamp from LCD,
and the text is a sheet of party words from Lost Coast Designs.
I colored it with Van Gogh watercolors.
And stamped with stazon jet black.
I used Distressink Iced Spruce for the background.

I started stamping the dog.
I masked it, then stamped it with the pineapple.
I colored the pineapple and dog with watercolor paint.

But you can use anything you want, pencils or markers wil be fine to.

When that was dry I masked the dog and pineapple again.
And with the distressink and the crackle background i stamped the background.
I used a small piece of the stamp for this and filled the background.
I shaded with a bit of black watercolor,
and i glued some little juwells on her ears and dress.

On a small piece of paper I stamped the text with stazon jet black.
I marked the text with pink paint.
I also glued 2 small gems on it.
I increased the text with some 3d tape.
Glue the card with some pink and black cardstock and you're done.

Thanks for stopping by.
I would love to see your art in the challenge.
And maybe you are the lucky one to win a prize.
Please read the rules first.
Until next time, goodbey for now.
Untill next time.
