Heartland Christmas

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!  Gail here today.  It the last of July and I'm here with some final inspiration for our Christmas In July Challenge.  It's nice to see so many of you joining us this month.  There is still time to do some stamping and join the fun.  Linky closes 23.59 PST tonight!

I started with a white slimline panel and stamped Lost Coast Designs Hearts and Curls Border and Merry Christmas with cobalt archival ink.  I cut around the two hearts at the bottom of the panel.

I added a strip of silver glitter paper, sliding it behind the two cut hearts.  Then I stamped, coloured and fussy cut Carmen's Veranda Reindeer Doll.   Love this quirky deer.
Thanks for dropping by.  Don't forget to check out all the awesome inspiration from the team, link up your makes for a chance to win and check back tomorrow for another fun challenge and even more lovely inspiration from the team.  Hugz

A Gnomy Christmas

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Good morning and a very happy Thursday!

It's Sue here, and today I'm sharing the second of my Christmas cards made for our Christmas In July challenge here on the Portal.

I started by making the layers for my background using patterned papers.

This gnomey Santa is so cute, and I would be lost without my misc words stamp.

I've added lots of snow and glitter. If you can't use glitter for Christmas when can you!

These are my lovely stamps, and they can be found here;

Gnome Santa With Toys

Mushroom House

Misc Words

There's still time to join in with us here, so please get stamping for the chance to win some Lost Coast $'s.

Have a wonderful day, and thanks so much for looking x

# 148 Christmas in July challenge

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi there stampers and cardmakers, Riet here.
My last entry for this challenge at Lost Coast Designs and Carmens Veranda stamps.

What did I use:
Distress ink:
Aged mahogany.
Antique linen.
Old paper.
Stazon Timber brown.
I colored with Derwent Colorsoft.
Posca white or another acrylic marker.

Cut a piece of craft paper to 12 x12 cm,
and stamp with Megan's christmas bird with the Stazon Timber brown.
Color as you like.
Create snowflakes and details with the posca marker.

Now take white paper and run it through puddles of Antique linen and Old paper.

Stamp the edge with the large pike flake and Aged mahogany.

Stamp the Merry Christmas on a piece of background paper.
Cut or die cut it out.

Now glue everything together and you're done.

Have you made a nice card or something out of paper,
then participate and have a chance to win new rubber stamps.
There are a few rules you have to follow, you can read them here.
Good luck and you may be the lucky winner.
Have fun.

Christmas In July: Santa Gnome

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi from Laurie with a tag for the current challenge:  Christmas in July.  I must admit it was kind of fun digging into my Christmas supplies in the middle of summer!
And for this Christmas tag I used the Pompom Gnome stamp and the Bubbles background stamp, both from Lost Coast Designs.

I decided to go with a traditional red and green color scheme for this tag, and started by stamping my white tag with the Bubbles background stamp and some green Distress Oxide ink.  I then randomly colored in some of the bubbles with a red marker and edged the tag with the same green ink.

Santa was stamped onto white paper with black ink and fussy cut out.  I restamped his hat, cut that out, and affixed that atop the original stamped image with foam tape to give it some dimension.  I colored Santa with Copic sketch markers and attached him to the tag front, using the same foam tape.  Last steps were to add a cotton ball pompom to his hat and some bright red ribbon to the top of the tag.

So dig out your Christmas supplies and show us your Christmas in July projects for a chance to win some free stamps from Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda.

Christmas in July: Christmas Bird.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello everyone, Liesbeth here with a new example for our challenge Christmas in July! When I made this card it was 36 degrees Celsius here in the north of the Netherlands!! And I was stamping for Christmas hahaaa!

An easy card: I just stamped Cracked grass and Sky, Merry Christmas (Party words) and of course Megan's Christmas Bird  onto a white card with black waterproof ink. I coloured the images with watercolour pencils and water, and I finished the piece with different colours glitter glue.
Merry Christmas in advance! 😉

#148 Christmas in july

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi there, Riet here,
this is a tag that is so easy to make.
I used the lovely Carmens Veranda Christmas tree stamp and the LCD Merry christmas'
 from the sheet Party words.
Spunge the tag with Distress ink Antique linen.
Stamp the tree with Stazon olive green.
Spunge the top and side with Distressink Frayed burlap.
Take a piece of acetate and smear some Distresink Rusty hinge in stripes on it,
and spray some water on it.
Use it as a stamp on the tag.
I colored the ornaments with a orange glitter marker.
Stamped the words with Stazon olive green.
And spunged the edges with Distressink Peeled paint.
Now that was easy, wasn't it!

Make a christmas card or item with some stamping on it,
and join oure challenge.
There is rubber to win, so come on over and join the challenge.

Sugar Plum Fairies

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Cathy here with a card for you.
Stamps Used:

So, I was going for sugar plum fairies dancing in your head. I guess I should have gone with a purple color to stamp the thin dancer but I picked blue. I then cut them out and set aside.
Next, I stamped a snowflake from small snowflake set  with versa mark ink and used white embossing power. I then took a white gel pen and added white dots around the background. On some of the white dots I added some lines coming out of it.
I glued the sugar plum fairies on the card and added the saying to the bottom.

Celebrate It! Happy Birthday!

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

First day of the month means a brand new challenge here on the Portal.  Welcome from Laurie to our July challenge running through the first half of the month:  Celebrate It!  So pick a special occasion, holiday, achievement - whatever you want to celebrate and post your makes here for a chance to win some free stamps from Lost Coast Designs or Carmen's Veranda.

I have made a birthday card for this one featuring the Party Baby Stamp Set from Lost Coast Designs and the Queen of Everything clear stamp from Carmen's Veranda.

After digging into my box of gel prints, I found this one that works so well with the baby and her party dress.  I layered that with my white card base.  I then stamped the baby onto white card stock with black ink and fussy cut her out.  I restamped her onto pink printed paper and cut out just the dress and party hat, superimposing them onto the original stamped images.  I added some color to her face and hands with Copic Sketch markers.  The wings were also stamped with black ink onto white paper and fussy cut, then colored with a gold fine tipped marker.  I fastened the wings to my baby and put the little party hat atop her head.  She was then glued to the lower right of the card front.

The sentiment was stamped with black ink onto a white square that was edged in black, then attached to the upper left corner.  And that's a wrap!

Can't wait to see what fun projects you create in celebration of all the great things life has to offer!  Thanks for joining us here on the Portal.

Celebrate it! - Birthday Mona

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello everyone, it's Liesbeth here again, celebrating our challenge Celebrate it! ;-)
I decided to make a card with this wonderful Mona Lisa, I love her, sitting next to that big cake haha!
Hope you'll celebrate with us!

This is how I made it:
Using black ink I stamped Birthday Mona onto a gelli printed background. The stamped image wasn't bright enough so I also stamped her on a piece of white paper and cut out Mona and the cake. Before I added her I first stamped the words ,Do I smell cake' from Party Words, and with blue ink the Scalloped Flourish a few times. On a seperate piece of paper I stamped the Happy Birthday text (Misc. Words). I couloured everything with colour pencils, gel pens and made a shadow with watercolour pencil and water.

If you have any questions, just ask! :-)
See you next time!

'Tis Halloween

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello all Cathy here. For the Celebrate it theme I picked my favorite holiday Halloween.
Stamped Used:

Simple card today. The only thing that took some time was cutting out my witch. I started out with the Large Gothic shrine and stamped that right on my card base. I colored that with Copic markers.

Next, I stamped the Gnome witch on broom and 'tis Halloween saying on white cardstock. I colored the Gnome witch on broom with Copic markers and cut out. I then trimmed the 'tis Halloween saying and edged it with a black marker.
I added foam tape to both and added to the front of the card and done.

#147 Celebrate it! Manga girl in top hat.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi there, Riet here.

Today it's my turn for the "Celebrete it" challenge on the Lost Coast designs challenge blog.
I know America celebrates the 4th of July, the day America became independent.
An important holiday for Americans.
I found this manga with top hat stamp so suitable for that.
So in honor of America this card.
And here the step by step how the card is made.

I used this:
Red glitter, I used wow glitter.
Double-sided tape.
Red, blue, skin tone, orange and yellow markers.
White pigment ink.
Stazon Midnight Blue.
Star punches in 2 sizes.
Blue, red and white paper.

I made stripes with the double sided tape.
After removing the tape protection, sprinkled the glitter on it.
I did this 2 times.
Looks so great.
I stamped the manga girl with Stazon midnight blue.
Then I colored the girl with markers.
For cutting I use both scissors and a knife.
Then I punch small and slightly larger stars from the dark blue paper.
Then I stamp the words and cut a banner.
You can do this also with white embossing powder.
I stick everything on the card with foam tape of different thicknesses.
Matte with blue, white and red.

I hope you enjoyed it and are inspired to join the challenge.
You have a chance to win some new rubber stamps.
So click the link and play with us.
