I started off by using a gel print as the base and stamped the following images using various colors of VersaFine Clair inks...

Hello Portal Peeps.  It's time for our new Challenge.
Our challenges are now fortnightly!  A new challenge starting the 1st and the 15th of every month, with chances to win Lost Coast dollars. We will be announcing winners on the 5th of the month, so do pop back and see who wowed the team and gets our snazzy blog badge and the coveted Lost Coast dollars.

CHALLENGE #107

THE MAN CAVE

We are going to use the last weeks of September to celebrate men.  

Please include men or male themed images on your stamped anything.

Real rubber or clear stamping and the theme must be the focus of your project.  A small stamped sentiment in a sea of die cuts or digi images will not qualify to win the prize and you may be deleted!!!!  Bwahahhaaahaha.

Please remember we do have some Challenge Rules to follow so look them over to ensure your entries qualify to win this month's prize!

You are welcome to play in our Challenges using rubber stamp images from any company but if you use any of our Lost Coast Designs or Carmen's Veranda stamps...we love it when you do...then your entry counts as two which doubles your chances of winning in our random prize drawing.

Roni here with another bit of tag inspiration for the current challenge... #92 - Tag You're It!

My steampunk inspired Wander tag....

I started off by mixing up a bit of walnut ink in a ziplock baggie. I then put in several tags and inked them all at one time (it's a great way to have extra tags on hand). Each of the tags was then laid out to dry naturally - you get the best looking designs that way.

Once the tags were dried, I adhered a bit of washi tape and stamped several Steampunk images using different shades of VersaFine Clair inks. It needed a little something so I sponged on a dab of VF Clair Rain Forest ink here and there.

I stamped the oval man image from Up Close & Personal onto another tag which was colored with a variety of colored pencils and stamped the sentiment on the scraps. Both of these were then mounted to the tag with foam tape to pop them off the background.

To finish off the tag I added a nice mix of fancy fibers!

Challenge #88 - For the Men

Today's card is made with an image from one of my favorite sections - Steampunk!

I used the Steampunk Flier as the focal point for this image. It was stamped on a bit of kraft paper with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink. I then tore and distressed the edges around the image and inked it with Pinecone and Nocturne inks.

It is mounted on a piece of Sapphire/Gold Glossy Rinea Foiled Paper that I ran through a dimension embossing folder from WeRMemory Keepers. I wanted it to be reminiscent of the sky but with the geometric lines to pull in the technical diagram look of the image. I added a sentiment from Finnabair Sentiment Stickers by Prima.

B is for....Bird - Steampunk Birds That Is!

Yesterday we started a new challenge -
Challenge #75 Things That Start with B

I decided to go with something a bit out of the ordinary and go with Birds...Steampunk Birds that is!

I just love all of the fun steampunk themed stamps at Lost Coast Designs and several of them are related to flying like a bird so I thought it would be fun to use them for this challenge.

The background is a gelli print that I made during one of my play times with the gelli plate. I stamped the Steampunk Flying Girl; Steampunk Plane and Steampunk Flier over the entire piece. I then filled in the spaces with a variety of words from the Misc. Words set.

I then printed out the sentiment on my computer, trimmed and adhered it to the card and as a final touch I added a few gemstones to match the background.
