Hats Challenge: Karaoke Cat

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Last day for this fabulous and fun challenge here on the Portal:  Hats.  Hi from Laurie with a fun slimline type card using the Karaoke Cat stamp from Lost Coast Designs, the Doodle Circles background stamp, also from Lost Coast, and the Currently Unsupervised clear stamp from Carmen's Veranda.

This background was a scrap of a gel print with green and blue acrylic paints and some gold stamping.  I added some doodle circles using red Oxide Distress inks.  The cat was stamped with black ink onto white paper, colored with Copic Sketch Markers, and fussy cut out.  I cut a pointed had for him from red card stock and added some polka dots.

The sentiment was stamped onto white card stock with black ink, the corners rounded, and edged with red.  The sentiment was affixed to the top of the card and the Karaoke Cat below.  The whole thing was layered with a piece of white card stock.

So hurry and get out your stamps and your crafty supplies and show us what you can create for this "Hats" challenge before it's over!!

Keep Your Hat On

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!  Gail here with some more inspiration for our current challenge, which is HATS.  Of course it is!   I've gone for a Christmas theme with another one of Lost Coast Designs awesome Gnomes
This gnome is called Profile Gnome, but I always think of him as Looking Up, and he's fun to use with things hanging or falling from the sky.  In this case it's large glittery balls!  Well, we all need a bit of bling at Christmas.  I stamped the gnome, masked him and stamped ATC Doodle Circles with blue archival ink.  Then I filled the circles with red/blue glitter glue.  I inked the edge of the stamp and used the same blue ink to stamp the line for the ground and filled it in with iridescent glitter glue.  I did consider glittering my gnome as well, but in the end just went with Promarkers.  I finished off by stamping the Merry Christmas.
Grab your stamps and hats and join the fun for a chance to win Lost Coast dollars.  Don't forget, real rubber/clear stamping and the theme must be the focus of your project.  Linky closes last minute of the month!

American Gothic

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello dear stampers, Riet here.
Another fun challenge at Lost coast designs.

Here is the explanation how I made this card, it is a card,
but you could also make an art journal page.

What have I used.
Lost Coast Designs stamps,
Die of a clock.
Stencils of a watch and numbers.
Versamark black.
Distressink,
Forest moss,
Rusty hindge,
Crushed olive,
Scattered straw.
Modeling paste.
Green and orange marker.
Colorcore cardstock black/orange.
Viva decor pearl pen.
Orange embossing power
Little chipboard star.

I started by smearing the distress ink colors on my glass mat,
and sprayed a little water on it.
Dab the paper in to get nice spots of ink on the paper.
With a stencil and some water I took off some color again.

Then I applied the numbers with a stencil and modeling paste.
After drying I colored the numbers with a marker.
To let the modeling paste dry even better, I now continued with the American Gothic stamp.
I stamped this stamp on plain smooth paper.
I cut the frame off the stamped image, and sponged the image with Distress ink Anitque linen.
When the ink is dry you can color it further.
I did that with the distress ink.

Now let's move on to the background.
With stamps of pieces of calligraphy and pieces of architecture,
I made prints here and there in different colors of the distress ink.

And with a stencil and versafine black I sponged a few clocks here and there.

I sponged the edges of the card
with forest moss.

I had a little chipboard star.
I panted it with Americana paint in a rusty orange color.
Then I applied orange embossing powder.

Remember when we had Colorcore cardstock years ago?
Of course I also bought a block, but never did anything with it.
I got a sheet that is black with a orange inside.
With the die of a clock I ran the two clocks through the Big shot.
With a fine sandpaper I run over it to show the orange.
But wasn't quite happy with that.
So just touched the clock here and there with a green marker.
Glued the star on the little clock.
And glued the rest to the card as well.
I added some accents with the pearl pen.
The lady's necklace and the bells on his hat.

Well, that was the tutorial for this time.
The team would love to see what you make with the "Hat" theme.
Join the challenge and have a chance to win new stamps.

Gnome hat tag

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello, all Cathy here with a tag I made.
Stamped Used:

I started out with stamping Sunglasses Gnome and coloring it with copic markers.

Next, I found a scrap piece of pattern paper and I stamped ATC Italian postmark randomly on it with brown ink. I then stamped ATC Italian postmark randomly on the tag background. I edged the tag and the pattern paper with the same brown ink. I added some stickers, rub-ons and paper bits to but it all together.

A Crown Is Merely A Hat!

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Good morning and a very happy Friday! It's Sue here, and today I'm back with my second project for our fun "Hats" challenge.

I started by making a background with my gelli plate using paints and stencills.

Then I added a little bit more stencilling with stronger colours.
Of course you can't have a "hats" challenge without hats, so I've stamped and embossed a few from the Party Hats 2 plate.
I've used Princess of Everything for my focal image, and coloured her with Distress pens.
The quote is by Frederick The Great - well I didn't know that!

These are my lovely stamps, just 2 really. I've used

I hope you like it, and that you join in with us. Just link up your stamped creation for a chance to win some Lost Coast dollars!
Have a very happy weekend, and thanks so much for looking x

Posh Hat

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!!!  Gail here popping in from a hot Spring day in Norway with some cool inspiration for the HATS Challenge!
I've used Lost Coast Designs doll from Doodle Dolls 1 set, Travel Quotes and Concentric Circles Background

Oh my!!!!  Concentric Circles is my new favourite background!!!!  I wonder why I haven't grabbed this one before!  I used Sky Blue, Blue Bird and Cactus Flower archival inks and randomly smeared them on the stamp to get this mixed colour background.  Then I stamped the sentiment from Lost Coast Designs Travel Quotes.
I stamped, coloured and fussy cut the doll and added her to the background.  Then I decided the sentiment didn't pop enough so I made a sentiment panel and stamped it on there.   Done!
I hope you like my strange lady in her strange sky.  Grab your stamps and hats and join the fun for a chance to win Lost Coast dollars.  Don't forget, real rubber/clear stamping and the theme must be the focus of your project.  Linky closes last minute of the month!

Hats: Three Monkeys in Hats

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi from Laurie as we find ourselves with another new challenge here on the Portal:  Hats.
Fun, right??  What can you make and then put a hat on?  I think we will be seeing some great projects for  this one!

I made a series of three tags for this challenge using the Three Monkeys stamp and the Vertical Hats border stamp, both from Lost Coast Designs.

After cutting out my three tags, I covered each with some papers from my stash:  one is a Gelli print and the other two were done with Oxide Distress spray inks.  I edged all three with a dark blue marker.

The Three Monkeys were stamped onto white paper with black ink and colored in with Copic Sketch markers.  I then fussy cut them out.  The various hats were done the same way and colored and cut out and then attached, one to each monkey.  Next I die cut ovals out of coordinating papers, attached those to the center of each tag, and placed the monkey images in the center of each oval.  I added some white Nuvo Crystal Drops to each of the monkeys' hats.  Final step was to punch a hole in the top of each and add some blue seam binding ribbon.

So get out  your crafty supplies and make something fun with a "Hats" theme to it, and you just might win some free stamps from Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda!!

S is for Sunshine

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!  It's the final day of our Things Beginning with S Challenge.  You have until 23.59 PST to add your stamped makes featuring S things.   I decided I needed some sunshine in my life and to make it more fun I made it rock!!
This is a very simple card using Carmen's Veranda Sun Tiles Background.

I stamped the Sun Tiles Background on yellow card using Dandelion archival ink.

I cut around the swirly sun top right so I could insert my sentiment strip which I stamped using a stamp from Lost Coast Designs Party Words.  I mounted the panel on a top fold card. trimmed the edges and rounded off the base so it rocks.   I have a large old saucepan lid I use for this purpose LOL.   Love this simple fun card.

Submit your entries to the linky party by 23.59PST on the 14th and don't forget to follow us so you don't miss anything!

It's only Tuesday

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Cathy here with a 5x5 card for you.
Stamps Used:
I started off with some blue distress ink and I used a stencil 3 different ways on the background. Next, I took the Ballerina with stars and stamped it with some blue oxide ink. Wiped that off and then I inked the Ballerina with stars with black soot oxide ink and wiped some away so you could still see the blue.
I then took a black fine tip marker and did a scribbly line around the whole thing.
Stamp the Daisy flourish in the corner and colored the flowers with color pencil and lastly, I picked a "snarky" saying and added it to the bottom.

I hope you join the S challenge here.

Salvador Seas Steampunk Shoals in Sepia Skies

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!  Gail here today with some inspiration for the Things Beginning with S Challenge.  The team have been having some serious stamping fun with this theme.  Today I grabbed Carmen's Veranda Salvador Dali and some Lost Coast Designs Steampunk Fish for a surrealistic scene.
I stamped Salvador and masked him.  I stamped the line of fish, masking between each impression.  Then I stamped with Sepia archival ink and the script stamp from Lost Coast Designs Piece of Calligraphy and smeared the card and edges with the same ink.  I used Tea Dye distress to give a watercolour wash to the background and finally stamped the Do I Smell Cake? sentiment.   Fish cakes maybe Salvador LOL.
Submit your entries to the linky party by 23.59PST on the 14th and don't forget to follow us so you don't miss anything!

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi there, Riet here.
And another fun challenge, something with an S.
I chose the stamp "Sleeping Lucy".
This is definitely a favorite stamp of mine.
And then that text by Carmens Veranda, it fits so beautifully.
I've made the background of the card before and you can find a post with the technique here.
It is made with a Hydrangea leaf and some glimmer mist.
I made Sleeping Lucy from watercolor paper and watercolor paint and glued it on the card.
I applied gold glitter on the hair and wings.
The card is matted on dark brown and green cardstock.

The team would love to see your creations.
So get crafty and join the challenge.
You might be the lucky winner of new stamps.
The challenge is here.
