31 Days of Halloween: Day 30: I Caught A Spider!

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Here we are almost at the end of October and our fun 31 Days of Halloween challenge.  What a blast it has been for all of us - and for you as well, we hope!  It's Laurie here with one more project, this time featuring the Katzelkraft Striped Cat stamp from Lost Coast Designs.

My base for this card is a piece of corrugated cardboard that I have distressed with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  My next layer is a piece of homemade paper that I ran through an embossing folder with a Halloween theme - unfortunately my Striped Cat sits right in the middle, covering up the skeleton's head underneath!  I tore around the edges then rubbed the surface with the same Vintage Photo ink to really bring out the raised effect of the embossing.  I stitched around the border with my sewing machine as a finishing touch and glued it to my piece of cardboard.

My cat was stamped onto a piece of decorative scrapbook paper and fussy cut out.  I re-stamped his head onto white card stock and cut out his eyes and glued them atop the original stamped image.  I affixed him with some foam tape for some dimension and gave him a witch's hat and a google eyed spider to hold up in his paw.  That's it!  Pretty simple but lots of fun.

Please be sure to join us before the month is over for a chance to win some free stamps by submitting your stamped Halloween themed projects here on the Portal!

31 Days of Halloween Day 29: Halloween Cat

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello everyone, Liesbeth here with a new Halloween card for our 31 Days of Halloween!

I coloured a big piece of cardstock with Distress inks (yellow, orange and purple) and water. After drying, I stamped the cat and cut it out. I cut out a bigger piece for the background and stamped the scripts and made the stars using a stencil. Both pieces are glued on black cardstock. With 3d foam tape I addhered the cat onto the card. I finished the card with a white gelpen: highlited the eyes.

31 Days of Halloween: Day 28 - Taurus

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!  Gosh, the big day approaches apace.  Are you ready??  You have until the last strike of midnight on the 31st to link up your stamped Halloween makes.  Today Taurus is wandering around his labyrinth.  OK, I admit, I have paired him with this background and sentiment previously, but they suit him so well!!!  I am thinking Do I Smell Cake? would also work!  Another day maybe......

I stamped Lost Coast Designs Taurus, masked him and stamped Lost Coast Designs Fourth Dimension Background with red archival ink.  I did a bit of wiggly cutting each side of the panel, edged it heavily with black ink and mounted on a red card base.  Then I stamped the Carmen's Veranda sentiment, chopped it up and added it to my card.  There he is, ready to cause chaos, or maybe just steal the cake if you let him!!

Thanks for dropping by.  Don't forget to check out all the awesome makes from the team and join the fun and link up your Halloweeeny projects

#131- 31 days of Halloween, Hanging of the raven. Day 27

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi there, kreepy monsters.
Are you scared yet????

Today this card for the Halloween challenge.
You can still participate, it runs until 31.

I started with the door and window stamp set.
I stamped these stamps with versamark and clear embossing powder.
I colored the windows with Brusho soft yellow.
The rest is done with Brusho blue, green and black.
When everything was dry, I removed the ebossing powder with an iron and paper towels.
With stazon timber brown I stamped the winged skeleton on paper and cut it out.
I stamped the goth raven 3 times with stazon midnight blue.
I once cut out the head and once the top half of the raven, and once a whole raven.
Then I colored them with water based markers.
I made a hanging loop from a piece of string,
and put some brown stazon on it to make it look a bit older and dirtier.
Now you can put everything together like on the card,
or at your own taste.
On the heart I glued a big red stone in the shape of a heart.

You can still participate in the Halloween challenge.
And you can participate with all stamp brands.
You have a chance to win rubber stamps.
So, read the rules and join the fun.
The team would really like that.

Hello Portal Peeps!!  Gail here again.  It looks like the witch is back and yesterday's naughty feline antics have been rumbled!  Or maybe cat is just wary cos the flying monkeys haven't been locked away yet......

I used the new Lost Coast Designs Gnome Witch on a Broom stamped and coloured with distress markers.  I stamped Lost Coast Designs Yoga Cat 4 and gave him a pale grey watercolour wash.  I masked the witch and the cat and stamped part of Carmen's Veranda Flying Monkey Background.  Then I did some simple distress ink blending to complete the scene.  Run cat, run!!!

31 Days of October: Day 25: Tis Near Halloween

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

It's Laurie back with another Halloween project for our 31 Days of Halloween here on the Portal.  We have all had such fun this month making Halloween goodies for you all with our Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda stamps.  I hope you are stamping along with us and entering your projects on the Portal for a chance to win some free stamps.

This card was made with one of the cats from the Party Cat Stamp Set stamp from Lost Coast Designs and the Witches Go Riding clear stamp from Carmen's Veranda.  I also used touches of the Idinkera background stamp randomly.  My background is a Gelli print I had on hand with some touches of yellow and gold acrylic paints and an impression plate with letters and numbers in it.

I stamped my cat onto orange card stock with black ink and fussy cut him out.  I punched a set of bat wings from a paper punch I have and attached those to his back.  The witch's hat is from a collage sheet I have on hand with witch hats in all shapes and sizes.  I added some google eyes to him with a couple of dots of glue, then attached him to the front of my card as shown.

The sentiment was stamped with black ink onto white card stock.  I outlined it with black ink and positioned it as shown.  And that's it!

We look forward to seeing all your fun Halloween creations before the end of October!

31 Days Of Halloween Day 24 - Do You Know What It Is Yet?

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Good morning and a very happy Sunday. It's Sue here, and it's day 24 of our 31 Days of Halloween challenge. I can finally show you what I've been making. But first, here are my last 2 panels.

It's just not Halloween without Edgar is it?

And here's his favourite bird, the raven.

This is what I've used today

Lost Coast

Agregate

Goth Raven    and

Carmen's Veranda

Edgar Allan Poe

Skulls and Bones Background

Nevermore

And this is what I've been making.

It's a Flip Flap book! This is the inside.

And this is the reverse. Of course some pieces have to be upside down because of the flips.

With the top and bottom folded in.

With the sides folded in.

And with my Shakey shaker on the front when it's all folded in.

This has been such fun to make, and I hope you like it. Please keep popping across here for more inspiration every day this month.

Enjoy what's left of your weekend, and thanks so much for looking x

31 Days of Halloween. Day 23, Halloween necklace.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello everybody, here a new post from Riet.
I made a Halloween necklace for Halloween.
Here is what I used and how I made it.
I used:
I would like to point out that,
these stamps are very large which makes them very suitable for shrink foil.
If the stamp is too small, a small image will remain after shrinking.
Which you can barely see.

Shrink plastic, in the Netherlands its cald "krimpie Dinkie".
Black Stazon
Color pencils or markers.
We r memory keepers- Multi hole punch
Metal chain
metal rings
2 small pliers
Sissors
pencil for drawing.
Heattool

I started by printing the stamp with stazon and letting it dry well.
With a pencil I drew a shape around the print and cut it out.
Be very careful to punch the holes first.
You have to cut this as shown in the photo.
This is where the rings will hang later.

Erase all pencil lines after cutting.
Now you can color the image.
Do this with light colors and fairly thin.
The melting will make the color much darker.

After heating it with the heattool it looks like this.
Now we repeat all this again with 4 x a bone of the large skeleton.
And dont forget to punch the wholes.

I colored the bones with a sand color.

Now we attach the rings and the chain to it.
And you are done.
Hope you had fun with this tutorial.

It would be great if you also join our Halloween challenge.
Make a card, tag, mixed media project or whatever you can think of.
If only it has some stamping on it.
You don't even have to use the Lost Coast stamps,
Other brands are also allowed.
So come and take a look at our challenge blog and join us.
You maybe the winner of new rubber stamps.

31 Days of Halloween: Day 21 - Through the Keyhole

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!  Gail here today with bootastic fun on Day 21 of our 31 Days of Halloween.   They say the veil is thinnest at Midnight on All Hallows Eve, but maybe as the day approaches other realities start to creep through.  In this case they are creeping through the keyhole!!!

Looks like she's screaming for her Flying Monkeys, but from the look of those bloody drips she might be coming to somewhere worse than that she is leaving!

I used some slightly grungy light grey card and stamped Carmen's Veranda Medium Keyhole with black archival.  Then I made a mask, cutting out the inside of the keyhole, so I could stamp Lost Coast Designs Crackle Background with Red Geranium archival ink.  I made a second mask, cutting outside of the keyhole, and stamped Lost Coast Designs Drips Background with Carnation archival ink.

I coloured the Keyhole with yellow and orange distress markers and gave the background a pale purple watercolour wash.  I used the mask again and stamped part of Carmen's Veranda Flying Monkey Background in the keyhole.  Then I stamped Carmen's Veranda Oz Witch, coloured with distress markers and fussy cut her.   I cut along the bottom of the keyhole and slipped the witch in so she looks like she's coming through from the other side.  Bwahahhahaa.
You must include real rubber or clear stamping and the theme for a chance to win.

31 Days of Halloween: Day 19: The Evil Eye Sees You

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Laurie here again with a tag this time for the 19th day of our 31 Days of Halloween challenge going on through the end of October here on the Portal.  I hope you are all having a lot of fun creating projects for this great annual challenge!

For this tag I used the Evil Eye stamp from Lost Coast Designs and the Cheesecloth background stamp, also from Lost Coast.  My background is a piece of a Gelli print I had on hand that I did atop some vintage book pages using orange and green paints.  Using black StayzOn ink, I added  little touches of the Cheesecloth background stamp here and there.

I stamped my Evil Eye creature onto white card stock with black ink and fussy cut him out.  I colored him with Copic Sketch Markers in colors to kind of coordinate with the colors in my background.  I attached him with foam tape so he stands out a bit from the background.  Finishing touch were some pieces of black, green, and yellow seam binding tied at the top.

You still have lots of time left to join us for the super fun challenge!  Can't wait to see what you are all making!
