31 Days of Halloween: Day 21 - Through the Keyhole

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!  Gail here today with bootastic fun on Day 21 of our 31 Days of Halloween.   They say the veil is thinnest at Midnight on All Hallows Eve, but maybe as the day approaches other realities start to creep through.  In this case they are creeping through the keyhole!!!

Looks like she's screaming for her Flying Monkeys, but from the look of those bloody drips she might be coming to somewhere worse than that she is leaving!

I used some slightly grungy light grey card and stamped Carmen's Veranda Medium Keyhole with black archival.  Then I made a mask, cutting out the inside of the keyhole, so I could stamp Lost Coast Designs Crackle Background with Red Geranium archival ink.  I made a second mask, cutting outside of the keyhole, and stamped Lost Coast Designs Drips Background with Carnation archival ink.

I coloured the Keyhole with yellow and orange distress markers and gave the background a pale purple watercolour wash.  I used the mask again and stamped part of Carmen's Veranda Flying Monkey Background in the keyhole.  Then I stamped Carmen's Veranda Oz Witch, coloured with distress markers and fussy cut her.   I cut along the bottom of the keyhole and slipped the witch in so she looks like she's coming through from the other side.  Bwahahhahaa.
You must include real rubber or clear stamping and the theme for a chance to win.

31 Days of Halloween: Day 19: The Evil Eye Sees You

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Laurie here again with a tag this time for the 19th day of our 31 Days of Halloween challenge going on through the end of October here on the Portal.  I hope you are all having a lot of fun creating projects for this great annual challenge!

For this tag I used the Evil Eye stamp from Lost Coast Designs and the Cheesecloth background stamp, also from Lost Coast.  My background is a piece of a Gelli print I had on hand that I did atop some vintage book pages using orange and green paints.  Using black StayzOn ink, I added  little touches of the Cheesecloth background stamp here and there.

I stamped my Evil Eye creature onto white card stock with black ink and fussy cut him out.  I colored him with Copic Sketch Markers in colors to kind of coordinate with the colors in my background.  I attached him with foam tape so he stands out a bit from the background.  Finishing touch were some pieces of black, green, and yellow seam binding tied at the top.

You still have lots of time left to join us for the super fun challenge!  Can't wait to see what you are all making!

31 Days of Halloween: Day 16 - Poe-etic

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!  Gail here.  I hope you are enjoying the Halloween marathon here at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and having a bootastic weekend.  The team is sharing amazing projects every day this month.  Check out all the makes and leave a little love.  Here's a card I made using Lost Coast Designs M Raven 2, Pieces of Calligraphy and Carmen's Veranda Nevermore word stamp.
I used a slightly grungy light grey base card, edged with black ink and
stamped and masked the Raven.  I cut a circle from a piece of card and used it as a stencil to blend yellow and orange distress inks to make the moon.  Then I stamped the small Pieces of Calligraphy stamp with orange ink on my moon.  I stamped the Nevermore word and added a little black pen doodle to tie it in to the branch.
Come join the Halloween fun here.

31 Days of Halloween: Day 15 Flat slim line shaker card

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Cathy here with day 15
Stamps used:
I started out with some watercolor paper and distress oxide spays and some distress spays in Halloween colors. I then cut it with a die cut to make it into a slim lime card front. Next I stampedPieces of calligraphy  randomly on the background I also did that with the   Fly from the bugz set and the Flying birds but with this one I cut one of the birds from the background stamp so I could use only one.
Then I stamped and cut out Gnome witch with no stars and colored her with copic markers.
To make the flat slim line shaker I took a shaker pocket and covered the front and taped up 3 of the sides of it. Then I added my shaker Halloween mix and some rat confetti that I had.
Use some red liner tape to tape  Gnome witch with no stars to the front of the shaker pocket after you sealed the last of the pocket and then you then add it to the front of the slim line card base.
I used red liner tape for that also.

Come join the Halloween fun here.

31 Days of Halloween: Day 14: Raven

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

This is Laurie welcoming you to the Portal and the extra special 31 Days of Halloween!  There will be a new project every day this month with a Halloween theme - the Design Team loves this month, and we go all out!  Please join us with your Halloween projects featuring rubber stamping for a chance to win some awesome stamps from Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda.

I've got a spooky card for this 2nd day of October made with the M Raven 2 stamp and the Grunge Tree background stamp, both from Lost Coast Designs.

I started by creating my background page.  For this I used three colors of Distress Oxide Inks, spraying some of each color on my craft mat and spritzing them all with a bit of water.  I took my white card stock and dabbed and dragged it through the colors letting them drip and run until I was happy with the result.  I was going for a dark and spooky look with this one.

I stamped the Grunge Tree background onto my inked up page using black ink and cut around the edges with some deckled scissors to give it a rough look.  I layered that with a piece of black handmade paper with rough torn edges.

Next I stamped my raven onto a piece of off white card stock using black ink.  I colored him with gray Copic Sketch markers and added a bit of white and darker black to his eye.  I colored the branch he is perched on with dark brown.  I affixed this to the lower right of my card front as shown.

Please join us for the Halloween fun all this month!  We are excited to see what spooking projects you can create!

31 Days of Halloween Day 13 - Still Waiting For Mr Right

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Good morning and a very happy Wednesday, it's Sue here again. Well, we're zooming through our 31 Days of Halloween challenge here on the Portal and I'm back today with my third set of panels.

This was one of my very first Lost Coast stamps. It's actually the Early Stitch 'n' Bitch, but with the help of a post-it note and a black pen, it's now 'Witch'

I don't know why these ladies are hanging around waiting for him, but you have to admire their commitment!

It seems to be all about the old ladies today, maybe it's because it's my birthday!

Today I've used

Lost Coast

Early Stitch 'n' Bitch

Waiting For Mr. Right

Dancing Skeletons  and

Carmen's Veranda

Cracked Mirror

Have you joined in with our fun challenge yet - if not please do!

Have a very happy (& spooky) day, and thanks so much for looking x

31 Day's of Halloween, Day 12, Crows

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!
Hello everyone,
No tutorial today, I forgot to take the pictures.
But I'll give you a brief explanation.

I used:

distress oxide,
dusty concord
crackling campfire
spiced marmalade
mustard seed
A waterproof black ink (Stazon)
color pencils
mask tape
white gel pen

First I stamped and masked the trees.
Then I sponged the entire card with mustard seed.
Then you stick a circle of masking tape, this will be the moon.
Then you will apply the colors.
From below you leave a border yellow,
then spiced marmalade, then crackling campfire.
And finally dusty concord.
Spray a light mist of water to get some spots.
Remove the moon mask, and apply some spiced marmalade on the moon with a small sponge.
Remove the trees mask.
Stamp the 4 ravens on a paper and color them.
Cut them out without the moon and lower loose feather.
Stamp the 4 ravens on the card with stazon but without the moon and the feather at the bottom of the stamp.
Glue the cut out 4 ravens to the stamp imprint on the card.
Give it some shade with a black pencil.
Give the ravens and feathers some accents with a white gel pen.

I hope you liked it.
Come and participate in this super fun challenge.
Follow the link and join in the fun, then you have a chance to win new stamps.
Good luck and see you next time.

31 Days of Halloween Day 11: Witch Gnome

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi there, it's Liesbeth here with a not so scary Halloween card for our 31 Days of Halloween challenge! Read everything about it here and join us!

This is how I made this card: Onto a piece of glossy cardstock I made a background using purple, yellow and orange alcohol inks. After drying, I stamped the Small Cityscape here and there with orange StazOn ink, without using an acryllic block to let it be ,grungy'. After that I put the same stamp onto an acryllic block and stamped it with black StazOn, and also the ATC Birds in trees here and there. I sponged the edges black. I stamped the Gnome Witch on broom (Love her!!!) on a seperate (normal, not glossy) paper and cut her out. I coloured her with Distress inks, water and some glitter and adhered her on the card.

Till next time, Liesbeth XX

31 Days of Halloween: Day 10 Ghostly Pumpkin

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello all Cathy here with day 10
Stamps Used:

I started out by making a background with some different color oranges of distress. I also used the new mica spray of distress. Next I stamped the Pumpkin and I then heat embossed it. Cut it out and set it aside.
The background of my black card base is done with a stencil and some white ink.

I die cut some ghosts from white cardstock and inked them up with a distress ink and then I stamped Pieces of calligraphy  ink that same ink on the ghosts.
Next I arranged the ghosts and  Pumpkin on the front of the card and glued them on.
Last I added a Happy Halloween in green and purple paper from a die cut. Layered it 3 times.
Added the same paper as layers under the card.

I hope you will join the Halloween challenge here

31 Day's of Halloween, Day 9, Halloween tag tutorial.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Riet here, Good (spooky)day to all of you.
Are you getting the kreeps already???
Well I am!!!
This time I made a tag.

And this is what I used:

Distress  ink
squeezed lemonade,
shabby shutters,
black soot,
dusty concord,
crackling campfire.
Distress oxide
Spiced marmalade.

Versafine onyx black

Stencil From Dutch doobadoo wyber.
 white gellpen
Bat die cuts

This is how I made the tag.

First I colored the tag with water drops using squeezed lemonade and shabby shutters.
Let the tag dry well and then sponge with the stencil and crackling campfire here and there.
Stamp the spider web over it with versafine black.
Sponge the side's with distress ink Dusty concord and black soot.
Take a strip of paper and make it orange with distress oxide spiced marmalade.
Immediately put some water drops on it and absorb the color with a paper towel.
This way you get nice light spots.
Stamp the skeleton with Versafine onyx black.
Give the skeleton some highlights with the white gel pen.
Now die cut the bats and give them orange glitter eyes.
Assemble the tag and you're done.

We would love to see your work too.
So join us in our 31 Days of Halloween challenge.
It ends on October 31.
Make something fun with the Halloween theme.
It must be stamped on, but the stamps can also be from other brands.
You have a chance to win stamps of your choice, isn't that nice?

31 Days of Halloween: Day 8: Skeleton Shrine

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi from Laurie, and I hope you are following along with us daily here on the Portal and getting inspired by our Halloween projects that are appearing each day of the month of October.

For today, I have what I call a 3 x 5 index card - a fun size to make that's a bit larger than an ATC and also makes for good journaling cards in your journals.  This one features the R.I.P. stamp and the Goth Shrine ATC sized stamp, both from Lost Coast Designs.  If you like the smaller Goth Shrine, there is a larger 5" version as well.

For my background I chose a piece of striped Halloween card stock and cut it to my 3 x 5 size.  Next step was to take some decorative tissue paper and glue it atop my card using Modge Podge.  Once it was dry, I added another layer of Modge Podge to seal it.

I stamped my Goth shrine with black ink onto some cream card stock and fussy cut it out.  Using Copic Sketch markers I colored in the shrine.  I used a 1 3/8" circle punch to punch out the center.
I then stamped a portion of the R.I.P. stamp onto the same card stock and punched out a 1 3/8" circle from my stamped image.  I cut a piece of clear acrylic slightly larger than my circle and affixed it behind my shrine.  I then positioned the circle stamped image behind that and taped it in place, so it looks like a little window.

I colored the shrine with my markers and attached it to the front of my index card with foam tape.  And that's a wrap!

We can't wait to see your Halloween projects so please share them here on the Portal for a chance to win some free stamps!  Don't forget to use rubber stamping in your projects.
