Make It Funny: Wine Drinking Karaoke Cat

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi all from Laurie on this 28th day of February where we are currently running the "Make It Funny" challenge through the end of the month.  Both Carmen's Veranda and Lost Coast Designs have some great stamps and sayings that fit the bill perfectly for this challenge.  This card uses the Karyoke Cat from Lost Coast Designs and the        2 to 3 glasses of wine clear stamp from Carmen's Veranda.

My background here is a gelli print made on a piece of tissue paper using a stencil and red, orange, and yellow acrylic paints.  I have layered it with a piece of vintage book paper and edged it with red ink, then layered the whole onto a piece of bright yellow card stock.

The cat was stamped with black ink onto white paper and fussy cut out.  I colored him with Copic Sketch markers and used a white Gel pen for his fangs and a silver pen for his microphone.  Glossy Accents were added to his eyes, and he was affixed to the lower portion of the card with foam tape for some dimension.

The sentiment was stamped with red ink onto a white square, edged with red ink, and placed above the cat.

We are excited to see what funnies you can create for this challenge.  Don't forget to feature some rubber stamping!  Some free stamps could be coming your way if you are chosen a winner!  You still have time!!

#161 Make it funny challenge, Spike and Lucy.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi there, Riet here.
Do you want to win some new stamps, than join the challenge at Lost Coast Designs.
Its "make it funny" theme.
This is my card with LCD Spike and Lucy,
and CV Doghair.
On the background i used stamps from the brushstokes sheet.

Carmens Veranda
Lost Caost Designs

Versafine onyx black
Or any other water resistend ink.
Distressink
Wild honey
Evergreen bough
Chipped sapphire
Saltwater taffy
Black Posca
White Posca
Neocolor II
Masking tape.

How I made the card
Use the distress ink and water to create some puddles of ink on your craft sheet.
Run your paper through there.
Dry it with the heat tool.
I imaginatively divided the card into two parts.
I started stamping Spike and Lucy on the right.
You mask them off.
Then with the Chipped saphire and the little dots stamped around it a bit.
And around them the larger circles.
Above that the larger dots stamped with Saltwater taffy.
I also stamped the butterfly in black.
On the left side I first stamped 2x an ornament of pieces of architecture with Evergreen bough.
On top of that with the letters of the Pieces of calligraphy in black.
On the extreme left edge I stamped the grunge border of the brushstrokes sheet with black.
With neocolorII colored yellow in the circles and with green around it.
Made a shadow around Spike and Lucy with a dark blue.
I stamped the text "Dogs hair" from Carmens Veranda on white paper.
I then cut the text into pieces and divided it over the left side of the card.
With the black Posca marker I made edges around it.
With the white posca I gave the butterfly some accents.
Now with a black neocolorII on the corners to give some accents.
Just matting with white and black and you're done.

Now its your turn, come and join our challenge.
And have a chance to win some new stamps.
Good luck to you.

Make It Funny - Sarcasm x2

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

I hope you're all enjoying our current challenge... Make it Funny!
I had so much fun with this challenge I have not one but 2 cards to share with you today...

To get inspired for this challenge I went through my sentiments first then went ahead and created my card around it. For my first card today I fell in love with this sentiment Sarcasm is Forever. I knew I had to use the Party On old lady...I can see her saying this and tooting her own horn.  For the background I used the swirl stamp from the new Brush Strokes set and the Swimsuit Girl (fading out of course).  I had to add a bit of glitter just for that extra special something :)

Oh my next card is so me....sometimes I make it other times not so much - LOL!!  I started off by trimming a gel plate print for my black card. Inspired by this print I stamped the American Gothic Party image on yellow cardstock - something I almost never do (yellow is scary).  It was trimmed and mounted on the card.  I then stamped the sentiment My Greatest Accomplishment on a scrap of cardstock which I had previously stamped the grungy dots (from the Brush Strokes set) using Wild Honey Distress Oxide ink.

Be sure to join in on the fun....Make It Funny...

I Googled

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello all, Cathy here with a card for you today.
Stamps used:

I started off by stamping Manga girl with top hat on an off-white card base. I then took some green distress ink and a number stencil and stenciled around the stamp. Then I layered it on a green cardstock layer.
Next, I stamped the saying on a separate cardstock layer. I also layered that on some green cardstock. Lastly, I put it on a black card base.

Make It Funny: The Monkey and the Hokey Pokey

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi again from Laurie, and welcome to this really great challenge - "Make It Funny".  Who can resist?  So many fun ways to make some funny projects for this challenge.

This little index card starts with some Distress Mica Spray ink splatters and sprays onto a piece of white water color paper.  After drying, I stamped it with the Grunge Black Swirl background stamp from Carmen's Veranda.  I used black ink but the stamped image is very light - I think the mica sprays prevented it from being more pronounced, but I kind of the like the faint shadow effect it has.

Mr. Monkey was stamped using the Monkey Face stamp from Carmen's Veranda and black ink on kraft paper card stock.  I fussy cut him out and accented his eyes with a white marker.  He was edged with Distress Vintage Photo ink and affixed to the bottom of the card with foam tape.

The Hokey Pokey sentiment was stamped with black ink onto white card stock and cut out.  The corners were rounded and it was also edged with Distress Ink before being attached to the upper left corner as shown.  The entirety was layered with a piece of brown card stock.

Be sure to post your funnies here for a chance to win some free stamps!!

#161 Make it funny challenge.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi there, Riet here.
Here is my DT tag for the "Make it funny" challenge.

They are so funny, they always make me laugh.
Take the time to read them and you will see how funny they are.
For this tag i chose the "cats birthday" text.

I made this tag with the sweet "White cat" stamp from Carmens Veranda stamps.
He/she is so cute,  just look at those sweet eyes.
The raven on top is one I cut off from the Lost Coast Designs crows border.
These borders are so long that you can easily cut a piece off.
This way you have a border and a separate stamp.
I sprayed the tag with sprays from Dylusions and a stencil.
I have to admit that the stencil has faded a bit, but I still liked the result.
At the bottom I stamped a stamp from the Brush strokes sheet with black ink.
I did the same with the text and the crow that is on the text.
I colored the White cat with Tombo markers.
Then i put Glossy accents on the eyes of the cat, so they stand out even more.
Glue the tag on black cardstock and give it a nice bow.
That's it for this time, and don't forget to join the challenge.
There is a nice prize to be won, and you can also participate with other stamp brands.
See you next time.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi Everyone! Liesbeth here showing you another card for our Love and Hearts Challenge! (Click and read everything abour it... and give it a try yourself!) I used two of the wonderful Carmen's Veranda Squares for this card.

As I often do, I used a piece of alcohol inked glossy paper. With pink StazOn ink I stamped Calligraphy Heart Square 4 times. After that I stamped Loveheart Square with black ink. I also stamped the Loveheart onto a left over paper and cut it out. I added the heart using 3d foam tape. With pink and black glitter I finished the card.

Hope you liked this one, hope to see you next time! ;-)

Hello Portal Peeps.  Gail here today with some more inspiration for the Love and Hearts challenge.   I saw Boris and this sentiment and they just seemed made for each other.
I stamped Carmen's Veranda Boris Karloff on grungy grey card and Carmen's Veranda You're Staggering on a panel of the same card.  Then I stamped Lost Coast Designs Hearts and Curls Border twice with pale blue archival ink on white card, added my fussy cut Boris and mounted on the sentiment panel.
Boris, you are such a bad boy!!!!

Love and Hearts Challenge - Sweet Love

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Ink Stained Roni here...I hope you're enjoying the current challenge Love & Hearts. Today I have a little "steamy" card for you - Sweet Love.

I love everything Steampunk so I thought it would be fun to create a Valentine's Day card for my sweetie using the new Gears background by stamping it with VersaMark ink on pink cardstock then embossing with Hematite EP.

I then stamped the Steampunk Bicycle Lady twice, once on kraft colored paper and once on a piece of grey cardstock. The clock was trimmed from the kraft paper and inked along the edge with Pine Cone VersaFine Clair ink.  The Bicycle Lady was trimmed from the grey cardstock and colored using a variety of colored pencils.  The Clock was mounted directly to the pink card and the lady was adhered using foam tape.  To finish off the card I stamped "Sweet Love" from the set Misc. Words.

Hope you join in on the fun with our Love and Hearts Challenge!
You might just be the lucky winner.

Love and Hearts Challenge: My Heart

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

And welcome to the first day of February and the first day of our new challenge:  Love and Hearts.  Perfect for this month with Valentine's Day coming soon.

For this card I used the Chloe Face stamp from Lost Coast Designs.  Such a lovely stamp!  I stamped Chloe with black ink onto a piece of tea dyed paper and fussy cut her out.  I edged this with Distress Ink in Vintage Photo and added a bit of color to her cheeks and lips with Copic Sketch markers.

For the background, I used a scrap collection of Tim Holtz papers that I had been saving to make a collage.  The collage was done on a sheet of 8 1/2 by 11 card stock, so this is just a portion of the collage.  I edged this
with the same Distress Ink and added a bronze "heart in hands" charm to the bottom.  Final step was to layer this with a piece of cream card stock.

Show us your love this month and submit your stamped projects here on the Portal to have a shot at winning some free stamps!
