Love You to the Moon and Back

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Greetings! You've got Kathi here to share a card created with one of the Gnomes from the Mini Gnomes Rubber Stamp Set 2 by Lost Coast Designs.

Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp the gnome from the Mini Gnomes Rubber Stamp Set 2 twice — once onto white cardstock and once onto repositionable sticker paper.

Use Copic markers to color the gnome.

Fussy-cut the sticker paper gnome and place the cut-out over its counterpart as a mask.

Use a die to cut the image panel. Use the next largest die to cut white cardstock.

Cut repositionable sticker paper with a crescent moon die and place it on the upper left corner of the image panel die-cut.

Place an acetate mask over the bottom portion of the image panel die-cut right above the gnome's feet and secure it in place with low-tack tape or magnets.

Sponge or brush two colors of blue dye ink over the image panel die cut to create a night sky.

With the acetate mask still in place, position a star stencil over the image panel die-cut and secure with low-tack tape or magnets.

Sponge white pigment (or hybrid) ink over the stencil to add the stars to the background. Remove the stencil and the mask then heat-set the image panel die-cut.

Trace the mask onto a piece of cardstock or thin packaging and fussy-cut along the trace line to create a handmade mask. Place the upper part of the handmade mask on the horizon line of the die-cut image panel.

Sponge or brush two colors of green dye ink over the handmade mask to create a grassy area. Tear a piece of cardstock, then sponge the darker green over the top of the torn part to add detail and shading to the grass.

Remove the masks from the moon and the gnome, then adhere the image panel die-cut to the white die-cut.

Create a card that is .25" larger than the matted image panel from navy cardstock.

Adhere a sentiment sticker to the card as shown to complete the card.

You still have a little bit of time to join our April challenge for the chance to win Lo$t Coa$t Ca$h!

Thanks for visiting today!

Do you have wrinkles?

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Darlene here with my last post of the month for the Gnome theme challenge !!

For this make I used the 'swinging gnome'

and one of the sayings from Carmen Veranda (so many good ones to choose from)

I used my markers to ink up the stamp then lightly spritzed it with water and stamped
always luv the effect this has - like watercolour painting
Framed in two layers of black - one plain - the other dry embossed the lightly used
white ink to highlight the flowers

A wee bit of lace for colour (like he is swinging over grass) added
the saying.

Come join the monthly challenge !!
enter your Gnome make and maybe win some new stamps

#208 Anything goes with gnomes challenge.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!
Hi there, its Riet here with a gnome postcard.
The gnome challenge by Lost Coast Designs runs until the end of April.
This time I have a simple card that is also easy for a beginner stamper to make.

What I used,
Crealies-cardzz457-postzegel frame die
Derwent chromaflow pencils
Black fineliner
white gellpen
Masking tape
Versafine Onyx black.

Take a white card thats 1cm bigger than the die.

Stamp the gnomes with the Versafine.

Mask the gnomes and the edge of the card.
Stamp the postcard background.

Remove the tape and color the gnomes.
Mat with a card with a black background.
And with a fineliner, write SSSHHH on the board holding up the gnome.
Make some highlight spots with the white gellpen.

Quick and easy to make this fun card.
Hope you enjoyed it?
And feel free to show off your gnomes on the challenge.
You can even join in with other brands, as long as stamping is involved.
Hope to see you again next time.

Embossed gnome card

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Good morning, Cathy here with a fun card to make.

Stamp Used:

I started out with embossing some white cardstock. I then flipped it over to use the debossed side of it.

I used copic makers to color in all the leaves. What you can also do is color the cardstock with ink before you emboss it. Next you take a black or whatever dark color ink pad and swipe all over the top. Because you colored in the debossed image the black ink fills in the flat part.

I then stamped and colored the gnome and cut him out. Of course, he had to have a mushroom or two next to him.

I hope you will join in our gnome challenge.

A Fun Scene with the Swinging Gnome!

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Greetings! You've got Kathi here to share a card created for the April "Anything Goes with Gnomes" Challenge No. 208 with the Swinging Gnome Rubber Stamp by Lost Coast Designs.

Use both cutting dies from the Forest Glade Die Set to cut white cardstock. Set the trees/frame die-cut aside.

Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp the Swinging Gnome Rubber Stamp twice — once onto the plain die-cut and once onto repositionable sticker paper.

Color the gnome, branch, and swing with Copic markers.

Fussy-cut the sticker paper version of the stamped gnome and place it over its counterpart on the die-cut image panel as a mask.

Brush or sponge Tumbled Glass Distress Ink over the masked image onto the top part of the image panel die-cut. Brush or sponge Bundled Sage Distress Ink lightly over the bottom part of the image panel die-cut.

Lightly mist the image panel die-cut with Isopropyl Alcohol to blend and mottle the inked background. Set the image panel die-cut aside.

Cut repositionable sticker paper with the bottom section of the tree frame die and cut the mushrooms so that they're free of the frame. Place the mushrooms over their counterparts on the tree frame die-cut.

Sponge or brush Gathered Twigs Distress Ink over the the tree frame die-cut. Use a stipple brush to pounce Walnut Stain Distress Ink over the frame to add visual interest to the frame.

Adhere the tree frame die-cut over the reserved gnome image panel die-cut. Edge the frame with the Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

Unmask the mushrooms and color them with Copic markers. Use a white gel pen to add white dots to the mushroom caps. Set the tree frame die-cut aside.

Create an A6 card from heavy white cardstock. Sponge Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide ink over the entire panel. Heat set.

Place a woodland forest stencil over the card. Brush Gathered Twigs Distress Ink over the stencil onto the card. Use a smaller brush to apply Walnut Stain Distress Ink over the edges of the trees and twigs on the stencil onto the card.

Sponge Pumice Stone Distress Oxide Ink over the stones on the bottom of the stencil onto the card. Heat set the card.

Use chalk pencils to add shading and grounding to the stones and tree trunks.

Adhere the focal tree frame die-cut to the card as shown.

Heavily edge the card with Walnut Stain Distress Ink to finish the card.

You still have time to join the April "Anything Goes with Gnomes" Challenge No. 208 for a chance to win Lo$t Coa$t Ca$h!

I'm Not Lost!

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi everyone, Aimee here! When I lived in Belgium, I got to engage with three things I love--gnomes, mushrooms and travel. Gnomes are embedded in European folklore, so their images are timeless. Each Autumn I would venture into the forest in search of red mushroom (Amanita Muscaria)--something I'd never seen in the United States. Belgium is truly land of the Smurfs!
To make this card, I used patterned paper with mushroom images, and the Pompom gnome and house along with a Travel Quote from Lost Coast Designs:
The Lost Coast Portal to Creativity is hosting an "Anything Goes With Gnomes" Challenge for April. Please submit your gnome-y creation by the end of the month for your chance to win a prize.

Gnome For Christmas

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps.  Gail here today with some inspiration for the anything Gnome Challenge.  I've gone shaped card and simple and Christmas with mini Pompom Gnome and his Mushroom House.
I do like this wiggly circle die and it's a nice big layered set so great for fun card bases.  I found a bit of card already smooched with distress ink that seemed a perfect background for my green and gold 'shroom house.  The house and the gnome were both stamped on white card, coloured with distress markers and fussy cut.   To finish I stamped the Happy Christmas directly on the background.
Hope you get some time to get gnomey.  You have all month to share your stamped anythings featuring GNOMES!!  Real rubber or clear stamping and the theme must be the focus of your project and we need at least 20 entries to award the prize.  Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

In Perspective

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!!   Gail here today with more Gnome fun.
I made a tag using Lost Coast Designs Coffee Gnome, ATC Perspective and Pieces of Calligraphy with Carmen's Veranda Coffee Vs Challenges sentiment.

I started with a piece of card that had a ray pattern on it and cut it with Daisy Mae tag die.  Then I smeared the edges with yellow archival ink and stamped some of the Pieces of Calligraphy stamps with the same ink to add some texture.

I stamped the ATC Perspective with brown archival ink and the sentiment with black archival ink. I stamped Coffee Gnome on white card, coloured with distress markers, fussy cut and added him to the tag.  I found some curious bobbly lace for my tag tie.
Hope you like my gnomey tag.  You have all month to share your stamped anythings featuring GNOMES!!  Real rubber or clear stamping and the theme must be the focus of your project and we need at least 20 entries to award the prize.  Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

clean and simple

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hey - Darlene here with my first make of the month with the theme
this month being 'Gnomes"

I titled this one clean and simple as thats what it was to make.

The background I had made awhile back just doing some smooshing.
The 3 mini gnomes I embossed and coloured and fussy cut out

The little saying is just from some paper I had laying around also.
So - to me - it looked like an evening sky/sunset happening in the background.

So easy to put together, your cards don't need to have a lot going on to look great.

Be sure to enter your Gnome into this months challenge...maybe win some new stamps !!
