Coffee Makes It All Possible!

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Greetings! It's Kathi here to share a card created for May's No Body Here Challenge 209 with the "Coffee Makes It Possible" Clear Stamp by Carmen's Veranda.

Use the coffee sleeve die from a to go coffee die-cut set to cut Bristol Paper, then secure the die-cut onto the base of a stamping platform with magnets and/or low-tack tape. Position the "Coffee Makes It Possible" Clear Stamp by Carmen's Veranda, facedown on the die-cut. Ink the stamp with Warm Breeze VersaFine Clair Ink and stamp. Re-ink and stamp again if needed to attain a good impression. Edge the coffee sleeve/sentiment die-cut with Warm Breeze VSFC Ink, then heat set the entire die-cut. Set it aside.

Use the to-go cup die from the coffee die set to cut patterned paper. Edge the to-go cup die-cut with Warm Breeze VSFC Ink then heat set the ink. Use the cup's lid die to cut Bristol Paper. Adhere the lid and the sleeve die-cuts to the patterned paper to-go cup. Use a grey chalk pencil to add a slight shadow under the lid. Set the assembled to go coffee cup aside.

Cut a 6" square of Kraft cardstock to create a background panel. Place it onto a magnetic craft mat. Pounce an anti-static pouch onto the Kraft background panel. Place a coffee bean stencil over the Kraft background panel and secure with low-tack tape and/or magnets.

Sponge or brush Coffee Bean Brilliance Ink over the stencil onto the background panel. Keeping the stencil in place, wipe the ink off of the stencil with a tissue, then sponge or brush VersaMark Ink over the stencil onto the background panel. Remove the stencil and pour clear detail embossing powder onto the wet ink. Pour the excess embossing powder back into its container, then heat set the stenciled and heat embossed background panel.

Trim the panel to 5.75" square and heavily edge it with Coffee Bean Brilliance Ink. Add clock-patterned Washi tape to the bottom edge. Add 1/8" gold Washi tape to the bottom and top edges of the clock-patterned Washi tape.

Adhere the assembled to-go cup to the background panel as shown.

Use an alarm clock die to cut metallic gold cardstock and Bristol Paper. Assemble the clock and detail it with a black marker.

Adhere the assembled alarm clock onto the background panel as shown.

Use a gold metallic pen to add dots to the background to echo the gold of the Washi tape and the alarm clock.

Adhere the background panel to a 6" square Kraft card. Add aqua and turquoise rhimestones to finish the card.

Tree crown tag by Cathy

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Cathy here with a tag for you today.

Stamps Used:

I started out by making the background of the tag. I used distress stain and distress spray.

I then stamped the background with a 3 of the stamps. I just used the top of the tree crown around the edge.

I then stamped the tree crown onto a separate tag and tore the bottom of the tag and edged it with some distress oxide.

You still have time to join in the challenge.

Blue Bird of Happiness

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!!   Gail here today with some inspiration for the No Body Here Challenge!
We want to see your stamped anythings but no people allowed.
I went with a tag and the very wonderful Whimsical Flora.

I cut a tag with daisy mae cross stitch die and stamped Lost Coast Designs Long Swirl with red, pink and black archival inks.  Then I edged and grunged up the tag using the black ink pad.
I stamped Whimsical Flora on white card, coloured with promarkers and fussy cut her.  I stamped the words using Lost Coast Designs Party Words and added them and some neon green wool to finish.

Grab your stamps and join the fun!!  You have all month to share your stamped anythings featuring anything EXCEPT PEOPLE!!  Real rubber or clear stamping and the theme must be the focus of your project and we need at least 20 entries to award the prize.
Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

#209 No body here.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi there, its Riet here with a new tutorial.

For this challenge I made a collage card.

LCD rubber stamps I used.

Versafine onyx black
Distressink
Broken china
Scattered straw
Spiced Marmelade
waterbased markers in the same colors.
thick black marker
15cm x 21 cm watercolor paper.

Start by stamping the three collage stamps in black.

Mask them off and continue filling the empty spaces with the other stamps.

We color the background with water and the distress ink.

We fill in the empty spaces further with the smallest script stamp from the Pieces of Calligraphy.
We do this with Distress Ink Broken China.

For the dictionary stamps, take a piece of paper and color it with the distress ink.
Stamp the dictionary stamps with versafine black onto the paper

Color the stamps with the markers.

Cut the words to size and trace the edges with a black marker.
Matt the card with black.

And then the card is finished; it also makes a nice Art Journal page.

I invite you to join the challenge.
There is a prize to be won.

Doodlings

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hey Darlene here with another make for this months challenge - 'nobody here'

For this one I used the Doodlings Zentangle Feather

I always seem drawn to black and white basic card.  My thought with this is that it would be great
for a masculine card - perhaps someone who is graduating?

Using the corner decoration  and adding the party words  and done

Be sure to enter your make for this months challenge - maybe win some new stamps
Just remember - Nobody Here (no people)

Fish Friends

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!!   Gail here with some inspiration for the No Body Here Challenge.  No people allowed this month so avoid anything that resembles a person.  That leaves plenty of scope with animals, plants, inanimate objects, abstract, words and anything else you can think of.  I went with fish and a lovely chequered spiral using Lost Coast Designs Fish and Heart Set.
I used red and blue archival inks to stamp the spiral and the fish.  I fussy cut the fish and arranged them on the spiral and then stamped the sentiment from Lost Coast Designs Travel Quotes set.

Grab your stamps and join the fun!!  You have all month to share your stamped anythings featuring anything EXCEPT PEOPLE!!  Real rubber or clear stamping and the theme must be the focus of your project and we need at least 20 entries to award the prize.

Love You to the Moon and Back

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Greetings! You've got Kathi here to share a card created with one of the Gnomes from the Mini Gnomes Rubber Stamp Set 2 by Lost Coast Designs.

Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp the gnome from the Mini Gnomes Rubber Stamp Set 2 twice — once onto white cardstock and once onto repositionable sticker paper.

Use Copic markers to color the gnome.

Fussy-cut the sticker paper gnome and place the cut-out over its counterpart as a mask.

Use a die to cut the image panel. Use the next largest die to cut white cardstock.

Cut repositionable sticker paper with a crescent moon die and place it on the upper left corner of the image panel die-cut.

Place an acetate mask over the bottom portion of the image panel die-cut right above the gnome's feet and secure it in place with low-tack tape or magnets.

Sponge or brush two colors of blue dye ink over the image panel die cut to create a night sky.

With the acetate mask still in place, position a star stencil over the image panel die-cut and secure with low-tack tape or magnets.

Sponge white pigment (or hybrid) ink over the stencil to add the stars to the background. Remove the stencil and the mask then heat-set the image panel die-cut.

Trace the mask onto a piece of cardstock or thin packaging and fussy-cut along the trace line to create a handmade mask. Place the upper part of the handmade mask on the horizon line of the die-cut image panel.

Sponge or brush two colors of green dye ink over the handmade mask to create a grassy area. Tear a piece of cardstock, then sponge the darker green over the top of the torn part to add detail and shading to the grass.

Remove the masks from the moon and the gnome, then adhere the image panel die-cut to the white die-cut.

Create a card that is .25" larger than the matted image panel from navy cardstock.

Adhere a sentiment sticker to the card as shown to complete the card.

You still have a little bit of time to join our April challenge for the chance to win Lo$t Coa$t Ca$h!

Do you have wrinkles?

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Darlene here with my last post of the month for the Gnome theme challenge !!

For this make I used the 'swinging gnome'

and one of the sayings from Carmen Veranda (so many good ones to choose from)

I used my markers to ink up the stamp then lightly spritzed it with water and stamped
always luv the effect this has - like watercolour painting
Framed in two layers of black - one plain - the other dry embossed the lightly used
white ink to highlight the flowers

A wee bit of lace for colour (like he is swinging over grass) added
the saying.

Come join the monthly challenge !!
enter your Gnome make and maybe win some new stamps

#208 Anything goes with gnomes challenge.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!
Hi there, its Riet here with a gnome postcard.
The gnome challenge by Lost Coast Designs runs until the end of April.
This time I have a simple card that is also easy for a beginner stamper to make.

What I used,
Crealies-cardzz457-postzegel frame die
Derwent chromaflow pencils
Black fineliner
white gellpen
Masking tape
Versafine Onyx black.

Take a white card thats 1cm bigger than the die.

Stamp the gnomes with the Versafine.

Mask the gnomes and the edge of the card.
Stamp the postcard background.

Remove the tape and color the gnomes.
Mat with a card with a black background.
And with a fineliner, write SSSHHH on the board holding up the gnome.
Make some highlight spots with the white gellpen.

Quick and easy to make this fun card.
Hope you enjoyed it?
And feel free to show off your gnomes on the challenge.
You can even join in with other brands, as long as stamping is involved.
Hope to see you again next time.
