When the wave comes

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello, all Cathy here with a quick card for you.
Stamp used:
I started out with some scrap paper that I have used some distress sprays and shimmer sprays on and cut out a ATCoin from it. I then stamped Shark on it 4 times. I felt that it didn't make an outstanding ATCoin so I made it into a card.
Next, I picked out some 'sea' color cardstock for the background and I had some shimmer string (thread) and added that under the ATCoin.
Added a black strip of cardstock to the bottom of the card and put a saying on top.
Lastly, I added some pearls to the front to act as bubbles.

ATC coins

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Cathy here with some ATC coins for you.
Stamps Used:
Carrie's Menagerie
I made the background with alcohol inks, stencils and paint. I used a punch out of the backgrounds I didn't think would make great card fronts. They made perfect ATC coins.
I then stamped Mouse 3 on the bottom of one then stamped Cat 2 upside down on the top. Edged the coin with ink and added a snarky saying.

For the second one I stamped Giraffe in the center and then the Mini crown set all around, Edged this coin with ink and added a snarky saying.

Come join the fun here.

Be....ATCoins

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Cathy here with some ATCoins

Stamps used:

I started out with the leftovers from my card I made for the start of the new challenge. I used pieces of calligraphy  and ATC set 6 and some blue ink. I stamped randomly over white cardstock. When I was cleaning my stamps off with a baby wipe I had a lot of ink on it and I smeared it all over it to give the paper a blue wash. I was going for a blueprint feel for it.
I made a card with the paper. I hade some left on my table so I cut out 3 ATCoins with the left over paper.
Next I took some stamps from  Fortune of men set and stamped them on the ATCoins. I edged the ATCoins with black ink to match my stamped men from Fortune of men set.
Lastly I took some words stickers and added them to the ATCoins.

I hope you will join the challenge here.

Hello all Cathy here with a ATCoin for you.

Stamp ATC text with black ink randomly over the background. Then take  Corner swirl and stamp it with green ink all over the coin.
Stamp Z-Oscar on white cardstock 2 times. Cut out one. Glue Z-Oscar to the front of the coin. On the second one smear green ink over the eyes. (easy way to color) cut out and glue on to Z-Oscar.

Round and Round with the same Background

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

 Hello all,

Lori here, with a project for the Round & Round Challenge.   For this week's post, I thought it would be interesting to use the same background print left over from a recent project (extras from my recent ATC project) to create a new project.  Why you ask?  Well, I don't like to waste extra papers and/or background prints that I have left over from projects.  If I have excess, I save these papers and prints in my "use later" bin. Then, pull them out on a later date to make a completely different project.

Well, there you have it.  I hope you enjoyed this project and will join us for the Round and Round Challenge!  I would love to see your creations linked to our challenge post!

Happy day,

ATC Coins by Dot

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi everyone, it's Dot here with a quick and easy project for you using some fun stamps and alcohol ink to make some Artist Trading Coins.

The stamps used on these coins are Three Monkeys, ATC Text Set 1, ATC Grunge Set,
ATC Doodle Circles and Daisy Flourish.

Step 1: This is a play with alcohol inks and blending solution on some Yupo paper. You can play is much as you like with these.  I added in some tiny dots here and there by adding blending solution with the tip of a brush and blowing on it.  This stops it from spreading into bigger circles and is heaps of fun.

Step 2: I added some Alcohol Lift to the ATC Doodle Circles, stamped it onto the background. Let it sit and then buff.  The effect looks brilliant in real life.

Step 3:  Stamping! Where would we be without our stamps!  The script is from ATC Text Set 1 and is stamped in a light coloured Archival ink.  In black archival I've stamped some random patches with the ATC Grunge Set and Daisy Flourish stamps.  The Three Monkeys was stamped onto some photo copy paper and cut out.

Step 4:  Using white acrylic paint and some lids add some more circles to the background. I've also gone in and added some lines with the acrylic paint using an old credit card.

Step 5:  To finish, attach the monkeys and then attach some words. I chose some chit chat stickers that kind of went with each of the monkeys.  I've also edged around the coins with black archival ink.

Now I have some coins that I can either use in my Art Journal,
on cards or swap with others. They are so handy to have.

The main stamp used was Three Monkeys

It's a great set to use with the monkeys all together, or as cheeky little monkeys all on their own.

You still have until the 14th of March to enter our
ATC, Coins and Chunky's Challenge which you can find
either on the side-bar, or on facebook.
You could win free stamps.

Hope to see you there.

In the meantime,
Happy Stamping!

Dot x

Serendipity

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!!  Gail here today and I decided to make some Artist Trading Coins for the current ATC Challenge that is running for the first two weeks of March, here at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity.   Have you made ATCoins??  They were a new thing last year and became very trendy.  I love em!  2.5 inch circles of fun!!  Big enough to add lots of details, small enough to be a quick idea.  I like to make them as a trio so here we are with Swimsuit Girl in vintage style.

I stamped Swimsuit Girl on various paper scraps using Potting Soil archival ink and fussy cut
I cut my coins using a 2.5inch die from another scrap of patterned paper.  I thought the girls looked quite good just like that, but decided to stamp the background a bit as well.
I used the long clear Serendipity sentiment from Carmen's Veranda, stamping it across the three coins using the same Potting Soil ink.  Then I stamped sections of Lost Coast Designs Grunge 3" Border above and below the main word.
Edged with the same ink and added the Beach Babes and done!!

31 Days of Halloween - Day 12

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi again from Laurie and hope wherever you are it's a beautiful fall day!  My favorite time of year and Halloween is one of my favorite holidays.  We are having a ball making all sorts of spooky projects for you here at the Lost Coast Portal.  We hope you will be inspired and join the fun and enter some of your own Halloween projects.

I have these cute little bat stamps and thought they would be perfect for an ATCoin.  I'm fairly new to ATCoins but am loving making them.  If you have not tried one, they are simply a 2 1/2 inch circle decorated as you would a standard ATC.
For this one I used the Bat stamp from the Carri's Menagerie of animal stamps that are new to Lost Coast Designs.  If you have not seen them, you must check them out!  There are 30 different sets each with two stamps.  I also used the Grunge Tree background stamp.

Using some dark blue and green Distress inks, I colored a piece of white card stock, blending the two colors together.  I then die cut my circle and stamped the Grunge Tree with black Staz On ink.  I dotted some "stars" into the night sky with a silver gel pen.  I stamped my bats onto white paper with black ink and cut them out.  I darkened then up a bit with a black marker - my black ink pad has a hard time creating a completely filled in black background so I gave it a little help.

I attached the bats with some foam tape and added the word "Scary" to the bottom.  I outlined the coin with black marker and that's it!  So easy and so fun!
