Day 28 of the 31 Days of Halloween: Cats and Dogs

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

So sad to be coming to the end of this most favorite month here on the Portal, but we still have a few days left, and you still have time to get your Halloween themed makes posted here on the Portal!

It's Laurie again, with a fun Halloween card featuring two of the dogs from the  Circus Dogs Set and the Bubbles background stamp, all from Lost Coast Designs.

I started this by stamping my Bubble background onto a piece of orange card stock with black ink.  I next stamped it onto a piece of green card stock and for a third time onto a piece of white card stock.  I cut the orange stamping into a rectangular shape, following the lines of the stamp itself, to make my card front.  I next cut sections of both the white stamped and green stamped papers and lined them up, attaching them atop the orange base.  I colored in some of the bubbles on the white section with orange and green markers and layered this with a piece of white card stock.

The dogs were stamped with black ink onto white card stock and fussy cut out.  I colored each with Copic Sketch markers and added witch-y hats to both.  From the same stamp set, I stamped the ball and  little step and colored them with orange and green markers respectively.  I adhered all to my card front with foam tape and scattered some silver stars here and there across my background.

So get busy and finish up your Halloween themed stamped projects, and be sure to enter by the end of the month for a chance to win some rubber stamps from Lost Coast Designs or Carmen's Veranda!

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Good morning and a very happy Thursday! It's Sue here, and today I'm sharing my last piece for our 31 Days of Halloween event.

I started by making my background with Distress ink. How did we manage before Distress ink!
I  stamped the Grunge Tree and extended the edges to cover my card. Then I stamped Witch Cat for placement.

Isn't he a cutie!

And these are my stamps, I've only used two

Now it was time to construct my project, I've made an accordion card.

This was such fun to make!

There's still time to join in with our challenge by either linking up here on the Portal, or via our Facebook group. As always there are Lost Coast $'s to be won!

Take care and have a very happy/spooky day xx

Day 26 of the 31 days of Halloween

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Cathy here with a cat tag for you.
Stamps used:

I started out making the tag background. I used purple distress oxide and the smooching technique. When that was dry, I then stamped parts of the Italian postmark from the in ATC set 6 the same ink all over the background. I then took a stencil and black ink and stenciled all over the background.

Next, I took a cat from More cats set and stamped and colored with copic markers. I then took Gnome witch on broom and just stamped the hat from that. Colored it in with copic markers. Cut both out.
Add a saying so the cat had something to stand on and glued the cat and hat to the tag.
Lastly add a spider to hat.

You still have time to join the Halloween fun here.

Day 25 of the 31 days of halloween, #154 cats and dogs

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

 Hello dear stampers,

Today it's my turn to show something with a Halloween dog or cat.
This is a really fun challenge.
Will you join us?
You probably have a stamp that you can use for this challenge.
It doesn't matter which brand, you can still participate in the challenge.
For this card I used the Spiderweb background stamp.
A stamp from the sheet Pieces of calligraphy.
And the text of the "Devil in disguise" stamp.
I also used a cobweb stencil from Dutch Doobadoo.
I started by coloring the card background with water and ink.:
Distressink musterd seed - Rusty hinge - Pumice stone.
With the stencil and Adirondack colorwash Purple twilight,
I sprayed in the top left corner and bottom right corner.
Looks black in the photo, but is a very deep dark purple.

I stamped the center piece with the spiderweb background stamp and black ink.
I stamped Spike and Lucy with waterproof ink on a thin paper.
Colored with pencils, and with a red posca I drew the horns on spike's head.
I cut a witch hat from black paper and glued it on Lucy's head.
In the lower left corner and upper right corner I stamped the text with Distress oxide Crackling campfire.
I stamped the text on a strip of paper.
Stained the paper with Distressink Musterd seed and Rusty hinge.
the spider has been glued up and the text raised a bit, pasted on with 3d tape.
This was the explanation for the card.
So join the challenge and maybe you'll win.

31 Days Of Halloween Day 24 - Cat Lovers Hop

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!  I'm so excited!!!  Halloween is approaching fast and Cheshire Cat is here today with scary fang and claws keyring style!!!

Now isn't that purrfect!

Today is also the start of the fabulous and amazing Cat Lovers Hop and Lost Coast Designs are proud to again be one of this year's sponsors.
Yet another opportunity to win Lost Coast Designs stamps, or one of many other prizes.  Hop over to Her Peaceful Garden and check out all the fun.

I stamped Lost Coast Designs Cheshire Cat on white shrink plastic.   I coloured with sharpies and distress markers.  I tried to keep the colours light because shrinking always concentrates the pigments.  I cut around the cat and then punched a hole in his head!  Bwahahhahaaa.   Then I used my heat gun to shrink him.
I added a keyring thing and he's ready to party!!!   Here's the finished shrunken cat against the original size stamped image.  Isn't he adorable!!!!!

Remember you also have two challenges here on the blog to choose from as well so link up your makes for a chance to win!

31 Days of Halloween Cats ans Dogs: Cat & skulls.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi everyone! It's almost Halloween and that's why we continue our 31 Days of Halloween chalenge! The last two weeks of October it's also a Cats and Dogs party! I (Liesbeth) made this big card in Halloween style. I love this cat stamp so much, it's from the wonderful set Up close and personal.

This is how I made the card: I took a page out of an old book and painted it with brown Distress inks, paint and water, I let it dry overnight. Using Archival Coffee, I stamped the Skull Flourish a several times. I did the same with black ink and one of the Pieces of Calligraphy. I stamped the Scalloped Flourish a several times with Versamark ink and heat emossed it with gold powder.

I stamped the cat on a seperate piece of white cardstock and cut it out, sponged it a bit with Distress ink Vintage photo and coloured it with pencils (eyes and nose) I gold embossed the edges and matted it onto a black card, as well as the big page. I adhered the cat onto the card.

Hope I inspired you to join the fun with us! See you next time!

When Witches Go Riding!

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Good morning and a very happy Saturday! It's Sue here to say that  we're well into our 31 Days of Halloween event here at Lost Coast Designs, and are now  adding an additional challenge, Halloween featuring cats and/or dogs. (I've added spiders too!)

I started by making a background with some Distress Inks in Halloweeny colours.

And then I embossed it with a very underused embossing folder, which was then coloured with mica powders (equally underused!)

I love these stamps, they are all such fun!

I've used
Witches Go Riding (Carmen's Veranda)

As always please check out the portal every day throughout October for further inspiration from my teamies.

Have a lovely day whatever you are doing, and thanks so much for looking x

31 Days of Halloween: Day 20: Witchy Cat

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Boo from Laurie with another project for our 31 Days of Halloween challenge going on all month here on the Portal.  It's our favorite time of year, so we hope you are all
playing along with us and entering your fabulous Halloween makes!

Here is a fun Halloween card featuring one of the cats from the Party Cat Set from Lost Coast Designs and
the When Witches Go Riding clear stamp from Carmen's Veranda.

The background for this is a piece of decorative rice paper glued atop a piece of a vintage book page.  I find that using rice paper is much more effective if you layer it with something behind it as you can see it through the images on the rice paper.  The rice paper panel was edged with some black ink and affixed to a white card base.

The Party Cat was stamped with black ink onto white card stock and fussy cut out.  I colored him with Copic Sketch markers and cut off the hat he comes with and glued a witch's hat to the top of his head in it's place.  I added some black and white marker to accent his eyes then glued a little black mask over them.  He was then attached to the card front with foam tape.

The sentiment was stamped with black ink onto white card stock.  I reduced the size of it on my printer so it would better fit the size of my card.  After printing I edged it with black marker and attached it to the upper right corner.

Excited to see all your fun Halloween makes, so be sure to use some rubber stamps and enter then on the Portal for a chance to win some free stamps!

I made a slimline card stamping Lost Coast Designs Dancing Skeletons on a black card panel and embossing with white powder.  I cut a mask for their feet and stamped Lost Coast Designs Fourth Dimension with salty ocean distress oxide ink.   I stamped the Cats on white card with black archival ink, fussy cut them and added them in the way!!!!   To finish I added the Carmen's Veranda sentiment stamped on a white panel.

Day 18 of the 31 Days of Halloween

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Good morning and Hello, Cathy here with a wall hanging.
Stamps Used:

So, this is a upcycle project. I started out with a piece of cardboard from a box. I then painted it off white and I did do some stenciling in it with the same color, but it is hard to see it the photo. I set that aside to dry and started on the next thing.

Next, I stamped the Pumpkin and colored it with copic markers. I cut it out and cut off the stem. I didn't need it because the cat was sitting on top.

Then I stamped a cat from the Small ATC cats and colored and cut it out.

When the cardboard wall hanging was dry, I took the Halloween saying and stamped it randomly all over the sides of the wall-hanging.
I then glued the pumpkin and the cat into the middle and punched to holes on top and added a string and you have yourself a upcycle wall-hanging.

Come join the Halloween fun here

Day 17 of the 31 days of Halloween. #154 Cats and dogs

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello all,
The second part of the 31 day halloween challenge at Lost Coast Designs has started.
Now its Halloween with cats and dogs.
This is so much fun!!

Now for the explanation of my contribution.
I used the door and window set and the Devil in disguise stamp.

Stamp the Devil cat and the windows with a permanent ink.

Mask off the cat.

Because I can't draw at all, I used a stencil with flames.
I drew this in pencil.

The rest I colored with Derwent Intense pencils.
I covered the devil's horns and wings with a red posca marker.
And sponged the edges with Distress ink black soot.
Did the top extra so it would look like smoke.

And that was about it.
Seems difficult but it isn't, give it a try.
If you have a nice stamp with a dog or cat, make something Halloween like with it.
Then you can join the challenge.
And you might even win a prize.
You can also use other stamp brands, so join in.
