Celebrate It: Party On!

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi from Laurie on the last day of April and our last day for this current challenge:  Celebrate It!  So whatever occasion you want to celebrate, now is your chance to make something fancy or fun and post it here on the Portal for a chance to win some free stamps.

This card features the Party On stamp from Lost Coast Designs.   The little party lady was stamped with black ink onto white card stock and fussy cut out.  I colored her with Copic Sketch markers and tried to use some bright colors because she looks like the kind of little old lady who would love bright colors!

My background is made with two different stencils, and I used Distress Oxide spray inks in bright pink and orange for the color.    I first did the flower then the concentric circle stencil on top.  My party gal is affixed with some foam tape to give her a bit of dimension and lift her off the background a bit.

We can't wait to see what you are celebrating right now!!  Be sure to get your submissions in today!

Happy Halloween

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello, Cathy here with a Halloween card for the Celebrate it challenge.

Stamps Used:

I stared out with stamping Frank on white cardstock and coloring him with Copic markers. I then cut him out.
Next, I stamped the 31 from the apha set on green cardstock and cut them out. Set both cutouts aside and pick out some Halloween paper for the card background.
I took some molding paste and added some black paint to it and put it through a stencil and added some black embossing powder of top. Set aside to dry. (You really didn't have to tint the paste if you add black embossing powder to it). When dry I heat embossed it and it made it all shinny.
Lastly, I added my 31 to the bottom and had Frank stand on top of it. I then added a saying.

I hope you join the Challenge here.

#165, Celebrate it!

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Its all about celebrations.
Hi, Riet here with my contribution of the celebrations challenge.
The current challenge at Lost Coast designs is so festive.
I have chosen to celebrate friendship.
The stamps I used.
And I used:
Archival ink Coffee.
Distress oxide,
Crackling campfire and Wild honey.
Derwent colorsoft,
Indigo, sea green and lime green.
Brown ink or paint for splashing.
Maskingtape.
Orange fineliner.

How to make the card.
Stamp the Tres cabbaleros with the archival ink,
and do the same on the card with the stamp from the Pieces of architacture.
Stamp with the stamp of the Pieces of calligraphy here and there.
Mask off the corners.
With the distress oxide wild honey and a blendingtool,
we color the card from the outside in.
Make sure to leave the center empty.
With the Cracling campfire we do the same,
but only on the outer side and along the masks.
With the masks on the corner stamps,
we are now going to splash with the brown paint or ink.
Whatever you prefer, ink or paint.
Remove the masks and color as you like.
Cut out the guys and gleu them on the card.
Color them in the same colors.
Do the same with the words, and scribble with the orange fineliner on the edge.

Now it's your turn.
The team would love it if you would join the challenge.
Make something festive, anything is allowed as long as it gets stamped on it.
You can even join with other brands.
And you can join the challenge by clicking here.
You might be the lucky winner of new stamps.
Thanks for stopping by, and see you next time.

Celebrate It: Party !

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Welcome again to our  Celebrate It  challenge!
Today I (Liesbeth) made a celebrating tag, maybe for a present? That Party On woman is so funny! 😂

Onto an alcohol inked glossy background I stamped Party On and the text (Party Words) with black ink. With green and blue ink I stamped the beautiful Black Flourish a several times. I coloured the woman with Distress Markers and made some highlights with a white gel pen. I glued the tag onto yellow and blue cardstock and punched a hole.

There's some time left for you to celebrate with us! Have fun!

Happy Birthday

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!  Gail here today with some inspiration for the Celebrate It Challenge.
Today is my birthday so I made myself a birthday card using my favourite Lost Coast Designs stamps and blue, because I like blue.
I used one of my favorite backgrounds, Lost Coast Designs Fruitpod Background, and the lovely cat from Up Close and Personal.
I stamped the Fruitpod Background using Salty Ocean distress ink which I spritzed with a fine mist of water before I stamped it.  It gives a slightly fuzzy batikk style look.
I stamped the cat and Happy Birthday sentiment on separate pieces of card and edged with blue ink.  I used blue ink to stamped the cat and gave her some gel pen green eyes.
I hope you find some time to join the Celebrate It Challenge with your stamped projects for any celebration.  Thanks for dropping by.  I am off to parteeee!!!!!!

Celebrate It! Happy Anniversary Folks

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Roni here with another bit of inspiration for our current Challenge #165 Celebrate It!

I love the American Gothic Party image...they are perfect for so many themes but it fits this challenge to a T.  I stamped the couple on a bone shimmery cardstock and then on a piece of teal cardstock. The frame was fussy cut and added on top of the couple image.  I stamped the sentiment from the Party Words set onto a scrap of green pattern paper, matted and was added to the card along with lots of fun bits.

Hope you all find the time to join in on the fun...you might just be lucky enough to win a gift certificate to Lost Coast Designs/Carmen's Veranda!!

Party On Friends!!

Celebrate It! With Mona!

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi from Laurie this second half of April with a tag for the "Celebrate It" challenge, currently going on here on the Portal.  For this tag, I used the Mona Flying stamp and the party hat stamp from the Party Baby Set, all from Lost Coast Designs.

I made my background by stamping a gelli plate with alternating colors of blue and green Distress Oxide ink pads.  I then pressed a page from a vintage book onto the plate and pulled a print.  I added some extra with an alphabet stencil in one of the green inks I used.  I cut this into a tag shape and edged it with blue ink then added some black splatters randomly.

Mona was stamped with black ink onto white paper and fussy cut out.  I restamped her "dress" onto a piece of checked scrap book paper, cut it out, and glued it atop the original stamped image.  I colored her with Copic Sketch markers and glued her to my tag front.  The party hat was stamped with black ink onto white paper, cut out, and colored with a green marker.  I glued that atop her head as shown.   I added some blue enamel dots to the buttons on her dress and decorated the buttons and the butterfly wings with gold Nuvo Crystal Drops.  Finally she was attached to my tag base and some green seam binding was tied through the top.

So many things to celebrate - what will you choose?  Don't forget to feature some rubber stamping on your projects and post them here on the Portal for a chance to win some free stamps!

#165 Let's celebrate it!

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

 Hi there, Riet here.
There is a new challenge  at Lost Coast Designs.
Its all about festivities.
This is my take on the theme.

For the background I used a stamp of the Brush strokes sheet.

I stamped it all around  the card and colored the cirkels in with posca markers.

Stamped the American Gothic Party with versafine and colored it with Posca markers.

I used some words of the "Party words" sheet.
And with the posca markets I made little dots.
Mat everything on a black cardstock.

I hope you like this card.
Come and join the challenge, you can be the winner of new stamps.

Rock or Pop: Gnome in the meadow.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello everyone! Today I show you my Pop-up card for the current challenge Rock or Pop! There's still some time for you to participate!

As I said, I made a pop-up card this time, so much fum to make this! First I fold a white A5 card in half and drew the lines for the 4 popping strips and cut them. I sponged the card with Distress ink in greens and blues, splashed some water and dried the card. With green ink, I stamped the big Shrubbery stamp, and Happy Birthday (Party Words) with black ink.

I stamped the gnome (Three gnomes) , cows (Cow), butterflies (More Bugz) and bird (Cat and Bird) onto a seperate piece of paper, cut them out and coloured them with colour pencils. I glued them onto the strips of the card and also on the card itself.

Hope you give it a try, see you next time!

#164 -Challenge, make a rock or popup card.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Goodmorning happy easter to all of you.
Riet here, here is my second card for the rock or popup challenge.
Gail, our dt leader had a great
idea for a challenge.
Rock or popup.
I chose a rocker card with a pendulum.

I thought this airship was well suited for that.
Because I have never made an interactive card before,
I did some searching on the internet.
And ended up with one of the best card makers out there.
Here is a link to the video on how to make a rocking card with a pendulum.

Here's a little explanation of how I made my rocker.
What I used.
Lost Coast Designs, STP Dirigible.
Adventure is from the Misc words sheet.
The small curl in the water is from the Brush Strokes sheet.
The beach (the rocker part) Shrubbery.

For the ocean,
Distress oxide,
Peacock feathers and Blueprint sketch.
For the sky, Distress oxide,
Musterd seed, Wild honey, Abandoned coral and Wilted violet.
For the beach (rocker),
Distress oxide, Tea Dye, ground espresso.
Ditressink, walnut stain.
Amsterdam acrylic ink Titanium white.
Distress micro glaze.
Color pencils.
Die of waves (Leane Creatieve), Lea'bilitie landscape.

The card consists of two halves.
The sky and the ocean.
For the sky I started with ink blending at the bottom.
First with Mustard seed then with wild honey.
Then with Abandoned coral and finally at the top the Wilted violet.
When that is dry, continue with the clouds.
I painted the clouds with white Amsterdam acrylic ink.

The oceaan is cut out in waves with a waves die.
I stamped the bottom half with the curl stamp from the brush strokes sheet with Distress Glaze.
With a inkblending tool, the oceaan at the top with Blueprint sketch.
the bottom half with Peacock feathers.
When it was dry I painted some foam caps on the waves,
with a brush with the Amsterdan acrylic ink.
With colorpencils, i used Derwend colorsoft,
I colored the mermaid and the airship (Dirigible),
and with a piece of die cut wave I stamped "Adventure".
made a pencil line around it to make it pop.

Now for the rocking part.
I folded a pieces of 200 grams paper and cut a half circle out.
With a inkblending  tool and distress oxide Tea dye I colored it.
With distress oxide ground espresso I stamped the shrubbery.
Its a impression of the beach and sand dunes.

Jennifer Mcguire's video shows you how to assemble the card.

I Loved to make this card. It was a real out of the box for me.
Hope you have fun making a rocker or popup card and please show it on oure
challenge blog or facebook.

Challenge #164 - Rock or Pop - Stay Weird!

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Roni here with a fun idea for the latest challenge - Rock or POP!

This was such a fun challenge and I knew I wanted to use the Monkey Face stamp from Carmen's Veranda because I could add googlie eyes!!!  These little gems add a great dimension and fun movement for a rocker card.

I created the card base by placing a plate along the bottom edge of a regular folded card base. I traced the rounded edge along the bottom and trimmed to create the "rocking" card.  It was then stamped with the Gears background stamp.

To create the rest of the card I started by stamping the Monkey Face on lavender cardstock with Versa Fine Clair Fantasia ink. It was fussy cut and I glued on the eyes.

Next I stamped the large feathery paint stroke from the Brush Stroke set of stamps using various shades of green. This was also fussy cut and used for "Leaves" for our monkey to peek out of.  I stamped the distressed straight brush stroke, also from the Brush Stroke set in blue to create the separating line.

I affixed the Monkey Face, leaves and blue line along the fold at the top of the rocker card. I then stamped the sentiment, trimmed it and affixed each word to the bottom of the rocker and outlined each word with black marker.

Hope you join in on the fun and create a card that rocks or has a pop out element.
