Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello everyone, Liesbeth Here again with our Critters challenge! Today I show you a very easy card. The beautiful stamp Cat and bird doesn`t need any extras to shine! I stamped it , using black StazOn ink, onto a gelli print background. You can also use a piece of design paper or inked paper, what ever. I also stamped it on a piece of white cardstock and cut out the cat. I glued the white cat onto the gelli print card. I coloured the eyes with a green pencil and added some red onto the bird, and some glitter on its crown. I finished with the sentiment (Party words)

See you next time Join the fun!

Critters: Morning Stretch

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi again from Laurie with another card for the "Critters" Challenge.  This is such a fun challenge, I do hope you will join in and share your "critter" creations with us here on the Portal.

For this I used the Yoga Cat #9 stamp from Lost Coast Designs and the Mornings should be moved clear stamp from Carmen's Veranda.  My background is a Gelli print done over a piece of vintage book page, turquoise and yellow acrylic paints, and a decorative stencil.  I stamped my Yoga Cat with black ink onto white card stock and fussy cut it out.  The sentiment was likewise stamped with black ink onto a white scrap, cut out and edged with turquoise ink.

I layered my background with white card stock and positioned the Yoga Cat and the sentiment as shown.
Such a fun and easy card that you could send to anyone, just to let them know you are thinking about them.

Come join us here on the Portal with your Critter creations for a chance to win some free stamps.  Be sure to feature some stamping in your projects.

The Cutest Of Critters

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Good morning and a very happy Saturday. It's Sue here with a trio of very cute critters!

I'm not normally one for 'cute' stamps, but these mice are just so sweet, and I reckon that with the right sentiment they will have real attitude!

I started by cutting my Rolodex cards onto supersmooth card and stamping my mice in brown. It's quite unusual for me to make one layer projects, but that is what I wanted for my meeces.

Then I added the sentiments where I could. Some of them are too big to be added whole so will be stamped and chopped up later. No mice will be hurt, I promise.

The mice have been coloured with alcohol markers. I knew that I wanted to put a watercolour wash over the top, so I heat embossed the sentiments.

I've just added some colour by inking up a stencil, spraying with water, and laying on the page.

They can definitely smell cake!
She's my favourite. I can just imagine her with a rolling pin in her hand if Mr Mouse comes home late from the mousy pub! I know there's a bit of mousy stereotyping there but I'm very old school lol.

These are the stamps that I've used
Mother Goose Mice by Lost Coast and

Carmen's Veranda clear stamps

You still have a full week to join in with our challenge and show us your critters. They can be as cute or as badass as you like, they just need to be stamped!

Take care, have a very happy weekend, and thanks so much for looking xx

#126 Challenge at Lost Coast Designs. Critters

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello, Riet here.
Today my contribution to the Lost Coast Designs challenge.
Subject is Critters.
Well, when we think of critters we usually think of very sweet and nice creatures.
But of course there are other critters as well.
Just look at this card and you'll see what I mean.
This card was made with the LCD evil eye stamp.
The "devil in disguise" words are from the stamp of the same name.

The evil eye stamp is designed by Teri Sherman
and LCD has a lot of stamps by Teri's design.
Take some time and look at them on this page.
These stamps are so gorgeus, I just love them.

I used for this card.....
Distress Oxide Black Soot, Rustic Wilderness andTwisted Citron.
the cobweb background is stamped with Distress Micro Glaze.
The speckles that you see in the background and the card are applied with a plastic sponge.
I colored the critter with Derwent coloursoft.
I really enjoyed making this card for this challenge.
The lost Coast Designs team is very curious about
your interpretation.
So come on and join in, you don't even have to use LCD stamps, you can join whatever stamp brand you want.
And did you know that you can win rubber?
That's always nice of course.
Well good luck with the challenge.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps.  Gail here today with a quick and simple card using Carmen's Veranda's adorable small Baby Elephant
I stamped the Baby Elephant on a piece of slightly grungy patterned card with black archival ink.  Then I cut around her feet and trunk, edged with a black marker and glued a piece of brick patterned card below as a wall for her to peek over.  We know it's a her cos I borrowed a bow from Carmen's Veranda's Reindeer Doll, stamped, coloured pink and red and fussy cut.  Perfect size for this little elephant.   I edged the panel and the card base in pink and stamped the sentiment from Lost Coast Designs Party Words set.  Have you seen the party words set???  So many of the sentiment would go great on this card; Happy Birthday, Congratulations, Thinking of you, Happy Everything, It's a Party, You're invited, Don't Worry, Be Happy etc etc.

Critters Challenge: Two Pups

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Welcome back to the Portal from Laurie with a card for our latest challenge:  Critters.
For this card I used the Circus Dog Set from Lost Coast Designs and the Fun and Games clear stamp from Carmen's Veranda.

For my base, I took a white square of card stock and using Modge Podge, I adhered some decorative rice paper to the base layer.  After letting it dry well, I edged it with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and layered it with a piece of black and white striped scrapbook paper.

Next I stamped two of the dogs in the set onto white card stock using black ink and fussy cut them out.  I colored one tan and one gray and added paper collars to each.  I then stamped my sentiment onto white paper with black ink and die cut it with a circle die.  I layered that with a larger black die cut circle and adhered it to the top center of my card front.

Using foam tape for dimension, I attached the dogs below the saying, facing each other as if one was giving the other some advice.  I think this is just a perfect sentiment for these stamps!

We would love to see your stamped projects showing us some of your "Critters"!  Randomly chosen winner will get some free stamps from Lost Coast Designs or Carmen's Veranda!

Have A Jolly Holly Christmas

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Good morning, a very happy Saturday, and welcome to Christmas in July! It's Sue here with a couple who are full of Christmas cheer (and a mighty fine looking turkey!)

I started by making my background pages with some stenciling, and words from the Miscellaneous Words stamp.

As you can see, this is such a useful one 'cos there's just about every word you could ever need here (coffee and goddess leap straight out - Linda must have been thinking about me when she designed it!)

I've used watercolour, and alcohol markers to colour my cheerful twosome. They really put you in the mood for turkey don't they!

These are my stamps,

I hope you like it, and you've still a few days to join in, so put your best Christmas foot forward - it's never too early!

Have a great weekend, and thanks so much for looking xx

#125 Christmas in July

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi stampers, here a tutorial from me, Riet.
For the christmas in july challenge,
I made this wooden heart wall hanger.

To start, I painted the heart dark brown with acrylic paint.
When the paint was dry I used crackle medium from Americana Decor.
I let this dry overnight.
I'd rather not do it with the embossing tool.
I don't think the cracks work very well this way.

When the crackle medium was dry I went over it with a beige/sand coloured acrylic paint.
I also let it air dry.
I love the way it turned out.

In the meantime I coloured the Santa with distress ink.

I used these distress ink, colours for this:
For his suit, Shabby shutters, Rustic Wilderness.
Face, Tattered rose, Cheeks Aged mahogany.
Bond edges, Antique linen, Pumice stone.
Stripes on Santa's pants, Antique linen.
Santa's boots, Gathered twigs.
Santa's bag, Fired brick.

I coloured a sheet of paper with Shabby shutters, Rustic Wilderness.
And a sheet coloured with Fired Brick.
I did this by applying ink to a craft sheet and spraying it with water.
Then you pass the paper through it.
With a number of dies I made the poinsettia and the holly leaves.
I did the same with the bow and the merry christmas.

Coluor the edges with a brush.
Coloured the berries with a red marker.
And punched the heart of the poinsettia with a yellow piece of paper.

Now put it together and you're done.

I hope you enjoy the tutorial, feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions.
Well this was my contribution to the challenge.
I'm curious what you make of it, and we would love it if you would also participate in the challenge.
And you know what's so nice, you have a chance to win beautiful Lost Coast Design or Carmens Veranda rubber stamps. Please read the rules first to avoid misunderstandings.
Good luck and see you next post.

Tiger's Christmas Tree

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!!!  It's Christmas!  In July!!

Don't forget to check out all the awesome makes the team are sharing for the Christmas In July Challenge.  I thought I'd share a particular Lost Coast Design stamp that I love!!  Say hi to AUD Tiger.  AUD's animals and people are always a bit quirky and Tiger is no exception.

Here he is, decorating his tree!
I used a pale grey panel and cut it with a Stamplorations Double Stitch Rectangle die and blended some green shades of distress ink at the bottom.  I stamped Lost Coast Designs AUD Tiger and Party Words Merry Christmas in black archival and edged the panel and base card with green Promarker.  I coloured the tree green and added a few green and white gel pen highlights to the tiger.
I've kept it simple, but I would like to draw your attention to the base card....

I started with a green patterned card base, but I wanted to jazz up the edges a bit, so I inked Tiger's tree with Library Green archival ink and stamped it randomly around the edge.  Lovely extra texture.

If you have that Christmas feeling and your make uses really rubber or clear stamps then join the fun here at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and link up with the Christmas In July Challenge

Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Gnomey Christmas

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello all. Cathy here and Happy 1/2 way to Christmas.
Stamps Used:

I started out by stamping the reindeer gnome and coloring him with copics. I then cut him down to the size I wanted and set him aside so I can work on my background.
I took a cream color cardstock and some red distress spray and did the smooching technique with it. Next a grabbed some distress oxide ink in red and did the same thing. I was hopping to get some different levels of red but not really.
I then took the  pieces of calligraphy set and stamped it on the background I did the same with the small snowflake set all with black ink.
Add some washi tape and some sequence and your gnome to the front and you are done.

I hope you will join us with the Christmas in July challenge. If anything you can get a head start on your Christmas cards.
