#210 Fruit, flowers and foliage.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi there, Riet here.
With a lovely manga stamped card.

So I immediately thought of the manga stamp Manga goth dots.
After all, she has flowers in her hair.
But for the cute text "Daisies in my hair" from Carmens Veranda stamps,
I changed the little roses in her hair into daisies.
You can see here that the stamp actually has little roses, but you just stick a daisy over it.

I used:

Black waterresitent inkpad, (versafine)
Distressink Musterd seed, Wild honey.
Color pencels or markers, whichever you prefer.
Masking tape.
Honeycomb stencil.
Stamp the flowers using masking tape,
letting the flowers overlap slightly.
Do the same with the girl.

Use an ink blender to make the background yellow.
And use the wild honey and the stencil to create the background.

Remove the masks and color the centers of the flowers, and the girl.
Stamp the text in black.

Stamp the bees and the little daisies on a thin peace of paper.
Color, cut out and glue them on.
Matt the card and you ar done.

Scrole to the end for another tutorial with a manga goth girl.

It would be great if you joined the challenge too.
There is, of course, a prize to be won (read the rules).
It runs until the end of the month.

31 Days of Halloween Day 6

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi Riet here, with a new Halloween card.

Today a Halloween card with the cutest little witch I have ever seen.

Stampes I used:
Stencil of pine trees
Stencil of a moon.
White gellpen
Waterproof black inkpad
Color pencils
Color markers
Distress ink Wild honey,
Spiced mamalade,
Black soot.
Distress oxide Hickory smoke,
Dusty concord

I started sponging the moon with Wild honey and spiced marmalade.

Scattered straw around the moon on the outside spiced marmalade.

Sponge the pine trees with Hickory smoke.
And a second row of pinetrees with Black soot.

Sponge the sky with Dusty concord and black soot at the edges.
And stamp the witch and the grunge tree with black waterproof ink.

Color the witch,
and give the trees a bit of a white edge with the gelly pen.

Stamp the saying with the black waterproof ink.

We're going to decorate the mat with the border stamp.
And color it in matching colors.
Glue the card on the mat.
Now that was a lot of coloring, but I like the result.

Perhaps you're also making Halloween/Day of the Dead crafts with stamps.

31 Days of Halloween, day 20.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi, Riet here with a Iris shutter slimline card.
Hi there, today I have an iris shutter card for you.
Made with the super cute gnome witches from lost Coast designs.
This is what I used to make this card.

Iris shutter die (Elizabeth crafts Designs.)
Flying bats die.
Pumpkins die.
Slimline frame (Marianne design)
Halloween stencil (BOO and pumkin face).
Distressink,
Musterd seed,
Twisted citron,
Spiced Marmelade,
Picked rasberry,
Seedless preserves,
Dusty Concord
Black water resistend ink.
White gelpen,
Red posca marker
Black marker.
Color pencils.

How to make the card.

Start by die cutting all the iris shutter parts.
Ink them up as shown on the photo's.

Put all the parts aside and let them air dry.
Do not use a heat tool.
The shutter parts will warp and they need to stay flat.

Punch a 1.5 inch cirkel and stamp the little star with.

Color the background and the witch.
Color the edge with Dusty concord.

Assemble the iris shutter as explained on the packaging.
Draw a pumpkin face on the iris shutter with the black marker.
We splash some Seedless preserves on the top ring of the shutter and sponge the word BOO on it.
Glue it to the iris shutter.

Stamp the witch, spiderweb, text on the pink background.
And the checkerboard above and below the purple background card.
Give the stamps accents with the white gel pen.
Assemble the iris shutter further as stated on the packaging of the die.
Can't figure it out? Then look up a video on YouTube.
That will help you through it.
I decorated with bats and pumpkins, but you can of course do that to your own taste.
I had a lot of fun making this card.
I'm curious to see what you make for Halloween.
Feel free to show us on the LCD/CV Blog or Facebook.
You'll then join the challenge and have a chance to win new stamps.
How cool is that?

IN THE DEEP MIDWINTER

https://lostcoastportaltocreativity.blogspot.com/2019/12/challenge-89-in-deep-midwinter.html
Link up your stamped winter inspired makes for a chance to win Lost Coast Designs dollars.  Anything related to winter, it doesn't have to be a Christmas make, and any type of project is welcome, as long as it uses the theme and real rubber or clear stamping as the focus.

We announced last months winners on the 5th.  I am still waiting to hear from one of them so do check that post if you entered the November challenges.

Here's some inspiration from the team.

Gail made this simple pretty card using Lost Coast Designs Megan's Christmas Bird and  Merry Christmas sentiment from Party Words.

Liesbeth made this beautiful winter scene using Lost Coast Designs Lycaonia stamp.

Roni made this fabulous Abominable Snowman card using Carmen's Veranda Monkey Face and Whatever You Are, Be A Good One sentiment and Lost Coast Designs Small Snowflakes.

OK, now it's your turn.  You have until 23.59 PST on the 31st to link up your wintery makes.  Remember, you gotta be in it to win it!!!  Ready, set, STAMP!!

31 Days of Halloween: Day 12 - When Witches Go Riding

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Laurie here again with a fun ATC for day 12 of our annual 31 Days of Halloween celebration.  I hope you have been following the blog this month and are busy making some festive projects to enter for the chance to win some free stamps.

For this ATC, I used the ATC Grunge Tree stamp and the Witch stamp, both from Lost Coast Designs, and the Witches Go Riding clear stamp from Carmen's Veranda.

For my background, I used a piece of coffee stained paper that I had on hand.   I stamped the grunge tree with black ink, then cut my piece to ATC size (2 1/2 by 3 1/2").  I edged it with some Vintage Photo Distress Ink to keep that vintage-y look and feel.

I stamped my witch with black ink onto white paper and fussy cut her.   I colored her and her broom with Copic Sketch markers, mostly using shades of gray.  I glued her atop my background as shown.

I then stamped my sentiment  (this sentiment is actually four lines long but I just used the first line) with black ink onto a piece of an old book page and edged it with black ink.  I attached it as shown, and easy as
1-2-3 my ATC is done!!

Please come join us for this most fun month of the entire year as we celebrate Halloween with a new project every day for 31 days and keep your eyes open for the treats!
