A jukebox for the mancave.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

#107 The mancave, blue jukebox.

Birds in Trees

Jukebox

Hi there, Riet here with another jukebox card.

For this card I used the LCD Birds in tree's background stamp and the Jukebox from Carmens Veranda.
I actually made this background for another card.  But it was not so suitable for that card and I had not used it.  So I found it very suitable for the vintage jukebox.
I made the background with distress glaze resist.
And distress Walnut stain and Antique linen.
I colored the jukebox with watercolor paint.
I did the metal parts with a silver pen.
Those parts seem to be made of chrome.
Too bad it cannot be seen in the photo.
Add some accents with the white gel pen, then cut out and glue on.
Hope you enjoyd the card. Dont forget to join our challenge.
Thanks for visiting our blog.

Charlie in Pieces

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps.  Gail here with a little altered art, mixed media inspiration today for the Man Cave challenge.  Have you seen all the amazing makes on the blog this month??  Scroll down and check them out.  You still have time to get out your masculine themed stamps and make a little something something and join the challenge.  The more players the bigger the prize!  Here's my little make.  An altered matchbox with the gorgeous Charlie Chaplin from Carmen's Veranda.

I started by stamping Charlie on a 3" square of white woodgrain patterned card.  I coloured around the image with red Promarker.  Well obviously he's not going to fit in that box like that!!  But I have a plan!!!!  I also stamped Charlie on white shrink plastic, fussy cut and shrunk him.  Love it!!!!

I covered the Charlie square with clear adhesive plastic and then cut it into inch squares.  It's an inchie puzzle!!!  I also added some thin magnet to the back of each piece cos I thought it would be fun to have a fridge magnet Charlie puzzle!!

I covered the inside of the matchbox drawer with black paper, the outside with red paper and attached a piece of red ribbon.  I cut a piece of red foam and one piece of black to fit inside the drawer.  I cut the black piece with a star die and put them in the drawer.

I covered the matchbox cover with handmade textured paper and wrapped it with some sequinned red thread.  I cut a few stars from red mirror card and added my shrunken Charlie.  What a fun treat it will be!

Thanks for visiting.  Remember to link up your man Cave makes for a chance to win.

The Man Cave Challenge: Weeping man

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi everyone, Liesbeth here, hoping to inspire you for our Man cave challenge! There are a few days left to join! :-)
This Weeping Man is one of my favourite LCD stamps! I also used both Cityscape stamps, big and small, ATC text Set 1  and ATC Birds in trees (Carmen's Veranda)
I used three tones of blue ink: dark, light and a bright mid-tone. I started with the man, I stamped him with dark blue and masked him. After that I stamped the other images and I sponged the three inks here and there. I removed the mask and ...ready!

Perfection is Overrated

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

More Man Cave fun to share today....

I just LOVE this image...those looks are hilarious paired with their crazy party hats!  He looks like he was dragged out of his man cave to have his photo taken doesn't he? About as thrilled as my dh would be if I asked him to have his photo taken.

The card was created by stamping the main image on white cardstock then colored in using both colored pencils and markers.  It was mounted on a piece of brown cardstock that was embossed with a wood grain embossing folder. I used silver thread to wrap up the image, big old brads in each corner then mounted it on a red card base.  The sentiment is a Prima quote sticker.

Hope you join us for our challenge #107 - Man Cave!

Good Luck everyone!!

Man Cave: Dancing Cowboys

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi from Laurie, and welcome to our latest challenge:  Man Cave.  This one runs until the end of September, so you still have lots of time to enter.  Just one rule:  your entry must include some rubber-stamping.

For this card I used the Waltzing Cowboys stamp from Lost Coast Designs and the All Together clear stamp from Carmen's Veranda.  Be sure to check out the newest clear stamps at Carmen's Veranda - they will for sure put a smile on your face!

This was so simple.  I stamped my cowboys using black ink onto a piece of coffee dyed paper.  I tore around the edges and used some Vintage Photo Distress Ink to age the edges.  My background is a piece of map of Yellowstone Park, and I cut that to fit my central image and inked the edges of this as well.

I used my sewing machine and black thread to stitch around the edges of my stamped panel, stitching it in place to the center of the card front.  Next I stamped my sentiment onto a scrap of coffee stained paper and stitched it with black thread as well.  I positioned it at the bottom of the card and fastened it with foam tape.

That's it!  I love the vintage-y look that coffee stained paper gives to any project, and it's so easy to do.  If you haven't tried it yet, you will love the results!

So show us what fun projects you can make for the "Man Cave" challenge for a chance to win some free stamps!

Be....ATCoins

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Cathy here with some ATCoins

Stamps used:

I started out with the leftovers from my card I made for the start of the new challenge. I used pieces of calligraphy  and ATC set 6 and some blue ink. I stamped randomly over white cardstock. When I was cleaning my stamps off with a baby wipe I had a lot of ink on it and I smeared it all over it to give the paper a blue wash. I was going for a blueprint feel for it.
I made a card with the paper. I hade some left on my table so I cut out 3 ATCoins with the left over paper.
Next I took some stamps from  Fortune of men set and stamped them on the ATCoins. I edged the ATCoins with black ink to match my stamped men from Fortune of men set.
Lastly I took some words stickers and added them to the ATCoins.

I hope you will join the challenge here.

Also the sale is still going on.  25% off. Go check it out.

A jukebox for a mancave.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi everybody, Riet here. I made this arrow card for the Man Cave challenge.

Jukebox

I drew a large arrow from a piece of cardboard for the background.

Used a diamond plate stencil and modelling paste on the cardboard.

After drying for a while, I painted it black with acrylic paint.

After that I just hit the top with a sponge and Inkagold Ice blue so only the diamonds are touched by the sponge.

With some rust-coloured paint that I diluted with water,

I made some rusty spots here and there.

I sponged the small arrow with distress oxide speckled egg and with Distress oxide black soot I made some stains on it.

With a marker I wrote "man cave" on it.

I added a bit of black to the edge of the small arrow.

I coloured the jukebox with markers.

And I did the tubes of the jukebox in Fluor colors.

I attached the small arrow and jukebox with 3d tape so that they are slightly higher.

Well this was the explanation for the Mancave card.

Now come on over and show us your take on the Man Cave Challenge.

We love to see your gorgeous cards and makes.

Don't forget to read the challenge rules.

And all have a nice day.

Coffee with Dali

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!  Gail here today.
Thanks to everyone who enter out Ladies Night challenge.  We really appreciate your support.
For the last part of the month we are going to turn our sights to the men.
Link up your stamped masculine makes for a chance to win.  The team are busy filling the blog with fabulous inspiration and here's my take on The Man Cave challenge...
I've used Lost Coast Designs Leaves Background and Travel Quotes and
Carmen's Veranda Salvador Dali stamp.

I stamped Salvador Dali on a scrap of kraft card with black archival ink, masked and stamped the leaves background with carnation archival.
I cut using Stamplorations cup die and added some white gel pen highlights.  I used a red Promarker to edge the die cut, and later I also went round with a black Promarker.

I stamped the leaves background with dandelion archival on glossy white card, just cos it was the first piece of white I found, and sometimes you gotta try these things......

I left a white border when I cut the panel and edged with yellow and orange Promarker.  I used the cup die and cut some black craft foam to give the cup a bit more dimension.  I used the TRAVEL and WANDERLUST stamps from the travel quotes set and brown archival and stamped them randomly around the background.  Then I stamped the sentiment, also from the travel quotes set and added it to the card.

'Try everything once, then try it again somewhere else'

Thanks for visiting.  Don't forget to link up your masculine makes for a chance to win.

Distress oxide- speckled egg-dusty concord-antique linen.
NeocolorII - 010 yellow-100 purple violet-099 aubergine-729 dark green
White Gesso
Modelingpaste
Paperlace

Gleu
Versa magic eggplant

Hello Lady’s, this is our theme, Lady’s night.

This time I took a completely different path.
Mixed media is not my thing, but I really enjoy trying new things.
So I started to paste the papers with glue.

Then applied the gesso diluted with water.
.I die cut the chipboard strip with the sizzix border.
Made the swirl with modeling paste and a mask/stencil

I also did that on the strip of chipboard.

With the oxides I applied color to the paper, the modeling paste and the chipboard.
Colored the edges of the torn paper with the neocolor II,
stamped the text and showgirls with the Versa magic eggplant.
Glued everything on and splattered white and black paint.
Hope you enjoyd it.
If you like you can come over and join our challenge.
You are so welcome.

Ladies' Night: Coat Lady

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi again from Laurie with another project for the "Ladies' Night" challenge going on through the 14th of September.  I have another card for this one using the  Coat Lady stamp from Lost Coast Designs and the Bottom of Wine Bottle clear stamp from Carmen's Veranda.

I have had this Gelli print in my box of prints for a long time and have never used it.  I never seemed to find the right project - until today!  I made this during a day long class I took, and I know it was an example of letting paints build up on your plate and not cleaning after each print.

I stamped my Coat Lady with black ink onto white paper and cut her out.  I added a little color to her face, hat and clothing with some Copic Sketch Markers.  I cut my background piece into a
long-ish shape and layered it with a white panel.  Coat Lady got attached at the bottom of the panel, and my stamped sentiment at the top, using foam tape for both.

So come join the fun here on the Portal and show us your Ladies' Night Out!  You just could win some free stamps!!

Beauty vs. Sarcasm

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

We've got such a fun challenge going on at the moment... #106 - Ladies Night!

I decided to have some fun with this as you can see!  Sort of self explanatory don't you think?  LOL!!

Well it was created by stamping the Tea Party  directly onto the panel. I then stamped several images from the Pieces of Calligraphy set around the tea party ladies.  Waiting for Mr.Right was stamped on a piece of white cardstock then fussy cut and affixed to the panel.  The sentiment is a combination of a few elements. I used the words "Diva" and "Wisdom" from the Misc. Words set, hand wrote the 101 and Sarcasm clear sentiment from Carmen's Veranda.

This panel was colored using various art crayons, the sentiments affixed to the card and it was finished off with sequins from Sparkle Blends.

Hope this little card inspires you to join in on our challenge....

I know

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Cathy here with a fun card for you today.
Stamps Used:

I started out with some watercolor paper and I used some Lindy's sprays to make the background.
I sprayed them on a craft mat and added water so they were not so intense of  color. I heat set in-between colors. Set aside to work on main image.
Stamp  Raven Queen on white cardstock and colored with copic markers and cut out. Some areas were to small to cut out so I just colored them with one of the sprays.
Next I stamped Crows border on the bottom of the watercolor piece. Then I stamped Pieces of calligraphy  in blue ink randomly over the background.
Glue Raven Queen in middle add some sequence and a saying sticker and you are done.
You can join in the fun challenge here.

Also the sale is still going on. 25% off. Check it out.
