Day 7 & Finale of Half-O-Ween: "Bite Me" ATC by Leigh!

The mid-year witching hour is upon us, it's the finale of our Halloween in May celebrations!    

 We've had a blast sharing our projects with you every 2nd day!  We are loving all the spooktacular creations received in our Half-O-Ween linky party so far and there's still time to enter, submit by midnight PST tonight HERE to be in the running for the $15 LCD/CV gift certificate prize!   
 
We hope you've had fun dusting off your scary stamps but don't put them away just yet coz our annual Skellie-Fest starts on June 4th with a fab Skull Appreciation Day blog hop!  Spooktacular times ahead....head....skull....get it!!!  Bwahahahahaha ;0)  So see YOU June 4th, mark your calendars!

Time for our finale project...I'm back today with another ATC....the sun is setting and a Cracked Old Crow is heading your way....RUN!

 On this one I used the following Lost Coast Designs stamps:

Cracked Old Crow, Spiderwebs background, large and mini Cracked Tree and Cracked Grass and Sky.  The text was handwritten and the background was done with Nuance Powders by Magenta.  Turn the ATC to the light just right and all the magical shimmer and Diamond Glaze details are revealed!  See my Lost Coaster's Review DT tutorial post for more info on how I made these ATCs.

Day 1 of Half-O-Ween: Ghostie "Boo" Bird ATCs by Leigh!

You might think that Half-O-Ween is a fairly new thing but it's actually an old tradition recognized by many European countries.  In Germanic folklore, Walpurgisnacht, also called Hexennacht or Heksennacht (Dutch), literally means "Witches' Night".  Traditionally the start of Half-O-Ween is "Witches Night" on April 30th and then observed all May long.  The first known written occurrence of the English translation, "Walpurgis Night" is from the 19th century.   Many of the things we still do today but have forgotten the reasons why originated from this time, like the ringing of Church bells and tying tin cans behind the car of newlyweds...all done to ward off evil during Half-O-Ween!

 Scared yet?  Bwahahahaha!  Leigh here to kick off the event today with 2 spooktacular ATCs featuring birdies from Lost Coast Designs newest stamp line, Whimsical Birds by Doris Arndt!

 We have 8 large individual Whimsical Birds and 2 sets of mini Whimsical Birds too!  Stop by to check them out on the LCD website and keep an eye on this blog coz we'll be featuring these little cuties in an upcoming Whimsical Bird Showcase soon!

Ghostie "boo" Bird ATC #1 features Whimsical Flora who is 3.25" tall.
The second I saw her I just knew she had to be a ghostie bird!  Perfect right LOL! 

Now this Ghostie "BOO" Bird ATC features our mini Flora from the mini Whimsical Birds 2 set, I couldn't resist making a second ATC using her!

 I also used the following Lost Coast Designs stamps on both ATCs:
 Spiderwebs background, the large and mini Cracked Tree and mini Cracked Grass and Sky from our Cracked Critter line.  The Old Type Writer Alphabet set in both lower and upper case to stamp the text and the yummy backgrounds were created with the fabulous Nuance Powders by Magenta now available in the Lost Coast Designs store!
