So I used the Skull Crown stamp for the orange one
layered onto black then purple cardstock with the edges stressed

The the other is the
Witch - i mean which - was fussy cut out of course

31 Days of Halloween, day 22. Lets make some homedecor.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hallo there, Riet here with 2 Halloween pumpkins.

Do you all love Halloween?
You can get so creative with it.
It's so much fun to make your own decorations.
I was walking into a store and saw these MDF pumpkins.
I'll tell you how to decorate them.
Instead of MDF, you can also use sturdy cardboard or wood.

What you'll need:
LCD stamps,
and

Acrylic paint,
White, Black, Orange, Green.
Distress oxide, Musterd seed.
Color pencils or markers (whatever you prefer)
Brown marker/pencil.
Stencil to make the words.
A die to make the vines and leaves.

A quick tip:
If you prime MDF first, it will become rough.
Let the first coat dry thoroughly and then sand it smooth.
This is only possible after the first coat.
If you don't, sand the MDF after the first coat, it wont get smooth.

Start with a layer of white paint and sand it once it's dry.

I applied 2 layers of orange paint.

Paint the stem with dark green paint.
And draw the lines of the pumpkin with pencil.

Now use a brown marker to draw the lines on the pumpkin.
Don't make a sharp line, but make it a bit smudgy.

Using a soft brush and the Distress Oxide Mustard Seed,
apply a yellow glow between the lines.

While the pumpkins are drying, we'll continue with the stamps.
Stamp them onto thin paper with waterproof black ink.
Color them however you like and cut them out.

Once the pumpkins are dry we continue with black paint and the stencil.
I used a smal sponge to aply the paint.
Let the black paint dry.
In the meantime, we cut the leaves and vines.
I used two shades of green.

Now we'll glue everything onto the pumpkins.
And then it's done.

I really enjoyed making them.
If you've made something for Halloween and stamped on it,
(No need to use LCD stamps, all brands are allowed) join our challenge.
You'll have a chance to win new stamps.

31 Days of Halloween Day 29

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!   Gail here today with some more Halloween fun!
The big day fast approaches.  Here's Lost Coast Designs Gnome Witch on Broom out doing some practice flying with her monkeys and her cat!    Hold on there kitty.....
I've made a quarter circle card from yellow card and did some off block stamping with Lost Coast Designs Zombie Chicken and dandelion archival ink to add some texture.  I stamped part of Carmen's Veranda Flying Monkeys Background and the Witches Go Riding sentiment directly onto the card base.  Gnome Witch on Broom and Z-Sassy cat were stamped on white card, coloured and fussy cut before being arranged on the card.

You have until 23.59 PST on the 31st to submit your stamped anythings with a Halloween theme to the linky party.  Don't forget to follow us so you don't miss anything!  The team will be posting more inspiration throughout the month so check back and join the fun.

Thanks for dropping by.  Leave us a little love so we know you were here.

31 Days of Halloween, day 20.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi, Riet here with a Iris shutter slimline card.
Hi there, today I have an iris shutter card for you.
Made with the super cute gnome witches from lost Coast designs.
This is what I used to make this card.

Iris shutter die (Elizabeth crafts Designs.)
Flying bats die.
Pumpkins die.
Slimline frame (Marianne design)
Halloween stencil (BOO and pumkin face).
Distressink,
Musterd seed,
Twisted citron,
Spiced Marmelade,
Picked rasberry,
Seedless preserves,
Dusty Concord
Black water resistend ink.
White gelpen,
Red posca marker
Black marker.
Color pencils.

How to make the card.

Start by die cutting all the iris shutter parts.
Ink them up as shown on the photo's.

Put all the parts aside and let them air dry.
Do not use a heat tool.
The shutter parts will warp and they need to stay flat.

Punch a 1.5 inch cirkel and stamp the little star with.

Color the background and the witch.
Color the edge with Dusty concord.

Assemble the iris shutter as explained on the packaging.
Draw a pumpkin face on the iris shutter with the black marker.
We splash some Seedless preserves on the top ring of the shutter and sponge the word BOO on it.
Glue it to the iris shutter.

Stamp the witch, spiderweb, text on the pink background.
And the checkerboard above and below the purple background card.
Give the stamps accents with the white gel pen.
Assemble the iris shutter further as stated on the packaging of the die.
Can't figure it out? Then look up a video on YouTube.
That will help you through it.
I decorated with bats and pumpkins, but you can of course do that to your own taste.
I had a lot of fun making this card.
I'm curious to see what you make for Halloween.
Feel free to show us on the LCD/CV Blog or Facebook.
You'll then join the challenge and have a chance to win new stamps.
How cool is that?

31 Days of Halloween Day 2

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Cathy here with a witchy panel for you.
Stamp used:

I started off by stamping Gnome witch on broom and coloring her with copic markers. I then cut her out and added some glitter pens to it.
I found this panel from a 12x12 paper pad that I have, and I thought it would go great with Gnome witch on broom. I glued her in place.
Lastly, I die cut some ghosts from whit cardstock and added them to the bottom. I also cut out some clouds but they didn't look right as clouds, so I made them into smoke trail from her broom.

Come join the Halloween fun over at The Lost Coast Blog.

The Flying Club

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!    Happy Easter!!  Hope you have chocolate!!!
Gail here today with a art journal page.  It's been a long time since I have worked in my art journal but when I started looking at flying themed stamps I tried a few different ideas.  And then I decided to put them all together in a glorious collage.

My starting point was Lost Coast Designs Flying Pig.  I decided to make an ATC with a brusho sprinkle background and the Carmen's Veranda Art Wings To Fly stamp.  The pig was stamped, coloured and fussy cut and I glittered the wings.

One ATC seemed lonely so I stamped Lost Coast Designs Gnome Witch On A Broom on a piece of white card, watercoloured with distress inks and cut with an ATC die.  I fussy cut around the end of the broom so it would protrude outside the ATC when I die cut.

Then the ideas were flowing.  I stamped Carmen's Veranda Bullseye on a piece of offwhite card and ripped the edges.  Then I fingerpainted with Worn Lipstick distress ink to add some patches of colour.

I stamped Lost Coast Designs Flagstone Background on a scrap of patterned card and stamped Whimsical Flora directly on top.  Then I selectively coloured for a stained glass look.  Tron is another stamp which is excellent for this technique.
Then I turned to my journal page.  These are a pale yellow pages.  I started by putting some distress inks on an acrylic block, spritzing with water then using bubble wrap to stamp the colour on my page.  I used a few different distress ink.  Then I stamped a border with Lost Coast Designs Dominos Border
Then I put it all together.
I stamped some Dictionary Words on cork and embossed with black embossing powder and found some more cork embellishments to finish the page.

I hope you like my art journal page.
You have until 23.59 PST on the 31st to join the Let's Fly fun and don't forget to follow us so you don't miss anything!  The team will be posting more inspiration throughout the month so do pop over and see what they are doing.

Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz
