31 Days of Halloween: Day 21 - Through the Keyhole

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!  Gail here today with bootastic fun on Day 21 of our 31 Days of Halloween.   They say the veil is thinnest at Midnight on All Hallows Eve, but maybe as the day approaches other realities start to creep through.  In this case they are creeping through the keyhole!!!

Looks like she's screaming for her Flying Monkeys, but from the look of those bloody drips she might be coming to somewhere worse than that she is leaving!

I used some slightly grungy light grey card and stamped Carmen's Veranda Medium Keyhole with black archival.  Then I made a mask, cutting out the inside of the keyhole, so I could stamp Lost Coast Designs Crackle Background with Red Geranium archival ink.  I made a second mask, cutting outside of the keyhole, and stamped Lost Coast Designs Drips Background with Carnation archival ink.

I coloured the Keyhole with yellow and orange distress markers and gave the background a pale purple watercolour wash.  I used the mask again and stamped part of Carmen's Veranda Flying Monkey Background in the keyhole.  Then I stamped Carmen's Veranda Oz Witch, coloured with distress markers and fussy cut her.   I cut along the bottom of the keyhole and slipped the witch in so she looks like she's coming through from the other side.  Bwahahhahaa.
You must include real rubber or clear stamping and the theme for a chance to win.

# 114 Gnome's doorhanger.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Door hanger.

 Hello everybody, Riet here.
Today a post for the gnome challenge.
Just love those funny gnomes,
they are so adorable.
Here is a list what I used for this door hanger.
Versafine onyx black.
Distress oxide ground espresso, Iced spruce, Speckled egg.
  And distressink Walnut stain.
Some cream colored paper.
Stencil with numbers.
Waterspray.
Coloring pencils/markers.
White gellpen.
Red posca pen.
Fine sandingpaper.

I started with the distress oxide speckled egg and Iced spruce.
I made stipes over the paper in one direction,
leaving some room between the stripes so the cream color shows.
When it is dry I scored some lines on the backside of the paper.
With the Ground espresso I made the score lines brown.
Then I sprayed just a little bit water on the lines.
This makes the lines run out a little bit.
Now you make the numbers with the stencil and the Ground espresso.

On a piece of paper you stamp the gnomes and the keyhole with versafine.
Colour them and cut them out.

Cut out the doorhanger and glued it on the cardboard doorhanger (Ikea).
Now you glue the male gnome on the keyhole and let his hat stick out.
Then you glue the keyhole on the doorhanger.
Glue the girl gnome and the keys on.  Sand the edges with sandpaper, and done!

LCD team would love to see what you make with a cute gnome.
Here is a link to lost Coast Designs gnomes, so cute.
Show us, and you can win some rubber.
And here you can enter the challenge.

Christmas in July: Keyhole (with tutorial)

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi everyone, it's Christmas here at the blog! :-D I'dd love to show you how I made this Christmas card. I love the (medium) Keyhole stamp so much, you can creatie wonderful ,look-throughs' with it! This is how I made this card:

Colour a piece of white cardstock wth Distress ink and water.( I used Speckled Egg and Salty Ocean) Stamp the keyhole, using black ink, onto the card and two times on masking paper.

Cut out the masks as shown here.

Cover the stamped keyhole on the card with the smallest mask and stamp some snowflakes (Large Snowflakes set) with the same Distress colours on the edges. Remove the mask.

Now cover the edges with the bigger mask, and stamp the Swinging gnome and the landscape (Cracked grass and sky) into the keyhole with black ink. Remove the mask.

Finishing the card: Change the small leaves into fir branches with a black marker. Colour the images with colour pencils. Make some shadows here and there with charcoal or ink and a q-tip). Use a yellow glitter pen on the small stars. Add a star sequin on the gnomes head. I used a text from ,Party words'.

Have fun! If something is not clear, please ask! :-) Hope you join in!

Through the Keyhole

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!!  Gail here today with a peek through the Keyhole at Weeping Man.
Hmmmmm, seems that he spotted us!!
Since the current challenge theme is Wood I decided to stamp Carmen's Veranda Keyhole on woodgrain paper and emboss with gold powder.  I added some more colour using Promarkers and then I cut the center out of the keyhole.
I stamped Lost Coast Designs Weeping Man on white card with brown archival ink
and watercoloured with Brusho's.
Green hair??  Maybe that's what he's crying about??
I masked Weeping Man and stamped Lost Coast Designs Leaves Background.
I placed the Weeping Man panel behind the Keyhole panel and mounted it all on a dark brown base card.

Thanks for dropping by.
Don't forget to link up your stamped makes inspired by the word Wood for
your chance to win Lost Coast dollars.
