#181 - Anything Goes - Pretend to be Normal

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

I hope you're having fun with our current monthly challenge - #181 - Anything Goes!

Today I have a card made using my favorite colors...green and blue.

I wanted to make a bright card using lots of color so I stamped each image using a stamping tool adding more and more color each time I stamped the image. The background image - Pondscum - was stamped using 4 shades of VersaFine Clair green ink while the main image from the Phrenology Set in shades of blue.  I stamped the sentiment - Pretend to be normal -  on a piece of cardstock that I colored with water color crayons.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!   Gail here.  Are you enjoying all the Tropical inspiration??  Some amazing projects from the team so far this month and some lovely entries in the linky gallery, but we would love to see more.  Anything tropical, and don't forget to stamp!
Tropical always makes me think sun,sea and sand so another blue and yellow creation from me.
I blended a blue and yellow distress ink background.  I stamped the blue tone on tone with Lost Coast Designs Pondscum Background and the yellow tone on tone with Carmen's Veranda Sun Tiles Background.  I stamped, coloured and fussy cut Lost Coast Designs Swimsuit Girl, added her to the card and finished with Carmen's Veranda Live in the Sunshine sentiment.

Patriotic Puppy

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!!  Gail here today with a card featuring Lost Coast Designs Drake Dog and a travel theme for the current East Meets West challenge.
Oriental, Western or Travel themed projects and don't forget the stamps!!
So here's my take, in red white and blue cos tomorrow is Norway's National day and I'm feeling the vibe......

I started by lightly stamping Lost Coast Designs Pondscum Background on a white card with Bluebird Archival ink.  I didn't want it to overwhelm so I stamped gently, not perfectly LOL.   I stamped the sentiment and travel word, both from Lost Coast Designs Travel Quotes Set, with Manganese archival
I stamped Drake Dog on white card with both brown and blue archival ink.  Then I did a little paper piecing, cos his trousers are solid and I wanted them blue.  I used Promarkers to add some more red and brown colour, fussy cut and added him to my card.

I am kicking off the show and decided to let Taurus out of his box.
Oooh, what a gorgeous beast he is.  All ready for a bit of October Mayhem.
I started with a royal purple base card that I cut with Stamplorations Stitched Rectangle die.  I stamped Lost Coast Designs Pondscum background and embossed with Zing Leaf embossing powder.  The Zing powders are opaque and gave excellent coverage on my dark background.  Then I stamped Lost Coast Designs Drips top and bottom and embossed with Zing Metallic Red powder.
I stamped, embossed and fussy cut Taurus and gave him a watercolour wash of Stormy Sky distress ink.  I added silver and gold Pilot marker to his hooves and horns and some gel pen highlights for eyes, fingernails and fangs.
I stuck him on the drippy Pondscum background and added a few die cut bats.  He's ready!!  Are you??

Now it's your turn.  We can't wait to see your projects!

The Colour of Brains

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello.  Gail here today to share a little inspiration for the current challenge Stamped BackgroundLost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda have some amazing, beautiful and very reasonably priced background stamps, so this is a no brainer.  Now there's a theme to expand upon.......
I used the gorgeous Lost Coast Designs Pondscum background with Carmen's Veranda Oz Scarecrow and Tidy Minds sentiment.
I stamped and embossed Pondscum Background with black powder on white card.  I'm not sure this picture does it justice.  It's a very detailed and complex stamp.  Do use a fine, detailed embossing powder if you are going to heat emboss.  I used Stampendous Fine Black here.
Then I stamped and embossed the Tidy Minds sentiment and Oz Scarecrow, both available from Carmen's Veranda.  I cut the sentiment panel with Sizzix Deckle Edge die and fussy cut the scarecrow.  I quite liked it black and white, but then decided to add some colour.
I thought green, for spring, vaguely entertained red, for brains, and then decided yellow, for happy, and maybe also brains if you are a scarecrow!!!
Thanks for dropping by.  Don't forget to link up your makes using stamping in the background for a chance to win Lost Coast dollars!!!
