Strangely Bizarre

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!   Gail here today with some inspiration for the Inchie Twinchie Domino Challenge.  I had a look through my stamps for some that would fit on dominos (2" x 1") and found this set of Lost Coast Designs Mini Ancient stamps.  Two were a bit small, two were a bit wide, but I trimmed them, and two were perfect!  Then, after advising two friend this evening that chocolate is the answer, it got a little bit quirky...
I stamped the Lost Coast Designs Mini Ancients using brown archival ink, cut them to size and inked the edges with the same brown ink.  My background is Lost Coast Designs Bubbles Background stamped with Prickly Pear archival ink, then over stamped with Lost Coast Designs Drips and sepia archival ink.  I arranged my domino's on the drips and then stamped the Carmen's Veranda Breakfast Chocolate sentiment in brown archival ink.
For September we want to see your stamped makes featuring Inchies (1" x 1"), Twinchies (2" x 2"), and/or Dominos (2" x 1")  You can make said Inchies, Twinchies or Dominos with real rubber or clear stamping, or you can incorporate these sizes into your project in another way, perhaps chop up your background, or your foreground, cut windows, or maybe make a three dimensional shape, or a tiny album.
The team is sharing awesome projects all month so do scroll down and pop back to check out all the amazing inspiration.

Game On

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!!   Gail here today with my first inspiration piece for the Inchie Twinchie Domino Challenge.  I decided to chop up my background into bits and piece it back together.
I stamped Carmen's Veranda Dice Background using yellow ink on white card and then chopped it into 1" x 1", 2" x 2" and 2" x 1" pieces.  I arranged the inchie, twinchie and domino size pieces onto a black card square and then added a yellow mat behind.  I stamped Carmen's Veranda Alfred Hitchcock Standing on white card with black ink, fussy cut him and added him to the card.  To finish I stamped Lost Coast Designs Happy Birthday on one of the domino pieces.

Naughty or Nice

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!!  Gail here today with some last hour inspiration for the Cats and Dogs Challenge.  I have had such a blast with this challenge, and I think the team has too, with so many awesome canine and feline delights.  I decided to use Pokey Dog again and combined him with some die cuts for some festive fun.
I cut a hexagon card base using Tonic dies and stamped the large Shadow Circle Frame with orange ink.  I stamped Pokey Dog and fussy cut him and arranged him with my Tattered Lace die cut wreath.  To finish I stamped Lost Coast Designs Merry Christmas.
You have until 23.59 on the 31st to link up your stamped anythings featuring Cats and/or Dogs.  Don't forget to scroll down for awesome inspiration from the team.

Underlay

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!!   Gail here today with Taco John.  I stamped and fussy cut him the other day and he looks hopefully at me every time I sit at my desk, so I decided to combine him today with some happy yellow papers and a little stitching.

He's just so adorbs!!!!  He is stamped on a scrap of patterned card with brown archival ink and I added a little distress marker colour.  The happy birthday is from Lost Coast Designs Party Words.  The panel behind his head was a bit of sock packaging (gotta love it when they use kraft) cut with a postage die (I have so many but probably Gummiapan cos it's square) and then I used a nifty little die from Your Next Stamp to cut the holes.  Then I stitched with a delicious variegated wool I scored in the bargain basket the other day.

Inside it's a bit of a sunny explosion so I added a writing panel then stamped Taco John again, peeking onto the card, and Lost Coast Designs Do I Smell Cake sentiment.

So, we have Lost Coast Designs Peace, Love and Harmony.  I used three different colour inks on my three white ATC's.  I stamped Lost Coast Designs Dictionary Words and then did a little off block stamping with a stamp from Lost Coast Designs Pieces of Calligraphy set.  I stamped Lost Coast Designs Pokey Dog on three different patterned paper scraps, fussy cut them and then added them to the ATC's.

Kitty Pink

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps.  Gail here today with some inspiration for the Cats and Dogs challenge.  At the moment it seems team cat is in charge.  Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda have a multitude of cat and dog stamps in all sorts of styles, so there is something for everyone.  Today I am using Carmen's Veranda Large Peekaboo Kitty and some Lost Coast Designs Pawprints.

I used a sketch from De Egel and lots of scraps in shades of pink.
I stamped the Happy Birthday using pink archival ink on shrink plastic and cut with a circle die.  Here's one shrunk and one not.
I stamped Peekaboo Kitty on a cream scrap, fussy cut and added her to the card.  A few Pawprints and done!!

Starship Friends

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!  Gail here today with a fun fold card I made for a friend using Lost Coast Designs Pokey Cat and some Carmen's Veranda sentiments.
Aren't those pussies adorable!!!!

I winged it and scored a piece of 6" x 6" patterned paper to make my pop up thingy.

I stamped Lost Coast Designs Pokey Cat with a bit of maskery trickery on patterned panel, then on plain card, fussy cut and added the daring duo to their stamped selves.  I did some square die cutting for the layered sentiment panels and stamped Carmen's Veranda Best Friends on the front, then mounted it on the mechanism.  It pops out a bit from the card base,in a fun and floppy manner.
Lift the flap for a second endearment.....
So, are you team Cat??  or team Dog????

Santa Boris

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!!   Gail here today with bad boy Boris for the Christmas in July challenge
I stamped Carmen's Veranda Boris Karloff on white card and cut with a circle die.  I coloured boris with red sharpies and water coloured with distress inks.  I stamped the star from Carmen's Veranda Elf with Star using salty ocean distress oxide on the still wet salty ocean water coloured background to give that nice smudged effect.  I cut a slightly larger circle with a stitched circle die from blue card and used the star with the distress oxide to stamp all around the edge for a bit of texture.  I cut a base card with the same stitched circle die so Boris can rock!!

Where Did You Get That Hat???

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!  Gail here today and the challenge for April is Where's My Hat?  We want to see your stamped anythings featuring headgear.  I had a look through my Lost Coast Designs stamps and found lots with hats!  Check out yesterday's challenge post and the fun makes from Cathy, Liesbeth and Darlene where they kicked off the challenge in amazing style.  Today I have used one of the images from Doodle Dolls 1 set, and I found she also featured on the Postage set, so I've made a slimline collage style birthday card.
I used archival ink in shades on blue and red and did some ink mixing on the stamps to give some variegated colours.  The background stamp is Lost Coast Designs PMC Circle Frame.  I used a die cut to make the oval frame and arranged the Postage stamps and Doodle Doll on it after I had stamped and fussy cut them.  I stamped the Happy Birthdays using Lost Coast Designs Party Words and die cut with a Waffle Flower die.
Hope you get time to join the Where's My Hat? fun.  We need at least 20 entries to award the prize so tell your friends and add your stamped hatty makes to the linky.
Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz
