Lamb, Pizza and Napkins

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello.  Gail here today, just popping by to show you what I did with those sheep
I made some fun bottle hanging tags to help bling up the festive table.
I'd stamped, embossed, coloured and fussy cut Carmen's Veranda Sheep Doll
and Quilted Wing Angel last week.  If you missed the angel project you can check it out HERE
I used a pizza box, a sizzix die and a silver embossed napkin to make my tags.  Line the die up so one end is just over the folded pizza box so you get a double tag.  I cut two so I could have a nice strong tag and it also got rid of the spicy nacho picture LOL.  Then I glued my napkin on one side of the tag and fussy cut it.  Make sure you split the layers of your napkin so you are just gluing the top layer onto the tag.  Usually they are two or three layers and it rarely works to try and glue more than one layer at a time LOL.
I inked the raised texture and edges of the tags with Paris Dusk ink, shaped the 'hanger' and cut a hole for the bottle neck.  I used glitter glue around the hole, blue here, and used my finger to smudge it out to give a starburst effect.  It also dries quicker as well.  I cut Poppystamps Flurry Frame from dark blue glitter card and added it and the sheep to the tag.
Here I added a silver glitter card layer that I cut with Poppystamps House in the Woods die.  The sheep is covering up the house, so now it's sheep in the woods!!
Thanks for looking.  Don't forget our Christmas/Winter challenge is still running.  Just leave your link in the comment section for a chance to win some Lost Coast dollars.  Hugz

Naughty or nice??? It could easily go either way...

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Merry Christmas Eve from Laurie and all the rest of the Design Team here at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity!  We wish you all the happiest of holidays.

I've found this naughty girl to bring you special Christmas greetings!  I created this card using the Fifties Girl stamp.  She is good for just about any occasion but putting a little Santa hat on her makes her perfect for the holidays.

I stamped her with black ink onto white card stock and colored her dress with red marker.  I gave her a little color in her cheeks and some bright red lipstick.  I cut her out and added the Santa hat.  My background is simply a couple of pieces of holiday scrapbook paper - one red and white striped and the other with some holiday words.  I cut out a cute "naughty or nice" ballot and attached that to the right side.  Then my little holiday cutie goes atop all and this is layered to a white card base.   And since it's Christmas Eve, we'll give her one more chance to be nice!!

Don't forget you can link up all your Christmas or Winter stamped makes to our
challenge right up to the end of the month.

May Angels Watch Over You

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi, Gail here today.  Are you ready??  Only a few days til the jolly red man gets stuck in the chimney!  And while everyone is choking on the smoke and Rudolf is trying to pull him out, you are carrying on as usual and trying to get the table set up.  And maybe you have invited some strangers to dinner, or the oldies, or maybe even the youngsters, need a little aide de memoire for who's who?  So I decided, since any new cards probably won't make it through the snow in time for the big day, that I would play about and make some table place cards.  This was more fun than a box of chocolate frogs!!!!
I used Carmen's Veranda's Quilted Wing Angel and some patterned card.
I started by stamping, embossing and fussy cutting Carmen's Veranda Quilted Wing Angel and Sheep Doll.  I coloured with distress inks, and gold, red and brown marker pens.  Then I decided to just go with the angels for this set.  The sheep will be back later......
To make the place card bases I cut some patterned paper into 4x4" squares, folded in half,  then used an oval die to cut off the bottom to give a more interesting shape.  I added some irridescent glitter to the wings and Windsor and Newton Iridescent Watercolour medium to the dress.  This is like Wink of Stella, but comes in a good size bottle, so you can get sparkly all over!!  I think you can see the glimmer in the main picture.
Off to make 5 more of these while the reindeer is cooking.
Thanks for dropping by.  Don't forget you can link up all your Christmas or Winter stamped makes to our challenge right up to the end of the month.  See you there.  Hugz

Joyful Tag

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello all Cathy here.  Today I made a tag for Christmas.  I started off with a #10 size office tag. I grabbed some Christmas colors of the Distress Oxide inks. (greens and reds and black for splatters) I took my craft mat and smooched the inks on it added water and put my tag in it. Dried one color and moved on to the next. When I'm happy with that I take the black ink and make splatters over the tag, set aside to dry.
Next I took Mistletoe Goth and stamped her on Copic friendly paper with black ink, colored her with Copic markers and then trimmed her down and cut her out.

Now back to the tag. I took the small snowflake stamp set and Versa mark ink and stamped it on the tag. Then I used white embossing power on it.
Layering is the next step. I had some black paper on my table and I had my Christmas paper and washi tape on there too. I added the black and Christmas paper on the side. Added Mistletoe Goth to the middle and added washi tape to the top and bottom of Mistletoe Goth stamped image.
Last I added a Christmas token with some sparkle ribbon to the tag. Also added sparkle ribbon to the top. I call it done.
Please stop by leave you entry here for the  Winter/Christmas challenge this month.
Can't wait to see what you all come up with.

Stay Warm!

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi to all visiting the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity today.  Laurie here.  If you are like me, you are deep into preparations for the coming holidays.  And I love making Christmas and winter related projects.
For our monthly challenge here on the Portal, that's just what we are doing.
I have made this card - could be used for Christmas or any other occasion, really.  My background is made with my Gelli plate, some blue and silver paint, and some stencils.  I layered my background with a piece of white card stock.  I used the Georges and Louis stamp for this card.  I stamped my image with black ink onto white card stock and cut it out.  I added some color to the little boy's face and gave him blue leggings and a blue cap.  I mounted him to my background with foam tape and added a little decorative die cut design to the upper left corner.

Be sure to visit both Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda for some fun holiday stamps and be sure to enter the challenge for a chance to win!

Raven's Winter

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Can you believe it is Dec. 6th already.  Cathy here with a holiday card for you.  My idea when I made this it would go well for a Winter Solstice card.
First off I stamped raven small right and left on the bottom of my white card panel.
There are two sizes of the raven so if you wanted a larger raven you can do that.

After that I picked out 3 different colors of Distress inks, a blue, a purple and a gray. Then I took my small snowflake set and stamped them in different inks all over the panel. Guess what?  Lost Coast Designs have a large snowflake set too.  So you have your choice of sizes. Large or small or a mix of both.
Then I distressed the edge of the white panel, inked the edge of it with the gray ink and set aside.
Next I took a black cardstock and made a top folding card and grabbed some more of the snowflakes. Can you believe there is 8 different snowflakes in that set? WOW!  I stamped them in Versa fine ink and embossed them with white embossing power.
(sorry about the flash)

I came back to the panel and colored in the ravens with Copic markers and added a hat to the left raven.  Wrapped white and silver bakers twine around the top and added a word token to it. Just to add some sparkle to it I added sliver tinsel to where the word token is.
Added foam tape the added it the black card and done.

I hope to see what you all are doing for your Winter/Christmas cards. You can join our challenge HERE for a chance to win some Lost Coast Dollars

I stamped and embossed Lost Coast Designs Drake Dog and coloured him with neon gel pens and distress inks.  I masked him and stamped the Domino's Border and the Carmen's Veranda sentiment in dark blue dye ink, and the Face with Feathers with blue chalk ink.  That dog is just so cool and he knows it!!

Mannequin CAS

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!
Cathy here with a CAS card.
Okay this one went much better. It took me only one time to do this card.  I did use painters tape with this one and I used Distress Oxide ink to make the strip. I taped a strip on white cardstock and I took 3 colors of Oxide ink and colored the background inside the strip. I then took some water and sprayed it on the ink to make the spots.
Next I stamped the corner flourish with a gray ink before I removed the painters tape..
Then I stamped the mannequin stamp at the bottom with black ink.

Clean and Simple: Turquoise Peacock

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi all - Laurie here for another go at the CAS challenge.  I used one of the new fab stamps from Lost Coast Designs - Teri Peacock.  So many possibilities with this stamp and so many colors you could make your peacock.  I stamped mine with black ink onto white card stock.  Using Copic Sketch markers in shades of turquoise and purple, I colored in my peacock.  Then trimmed up my edges and layered it with turquoise and white.  So this makes a pretty card and is very simple to make.
Be sure to check out the raft of new stamps at the Lost Coast Designs website and don't forget to make your own CAS project and enter it here to win some free stamps!

Why Fit In -Clean and Simple

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi it's Sue here with my first Clean and Simple piece. Now I'm the first to admit I find C&S terrifying, I'm more of a painty and messy type crafter. But She Who Must Be Obeyed - Marilyn (just kidding Marilyn) :-)  said clean and simple, so here it is.

Agh all that white space, it's more scary than the 31 Days of Halloween!
This is a strip of a Gelli plate background, and the  lovely Flower Flourish.
The sentiment is the Carmen's Veranda clear stamp Born To Stand Out

I hope you join in with our challenge, unless it scares you too, in which case Man Up and join in anyway!

Have a great week, and thanks very much for looking x

Clean and Simple: Little Pilgrim

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi all, Laurie here for the Clean and Simple Challenge on the
Lost Coast Portal for the month of November.
It's really hard to make something "clean and simple" as I think we all
like to add lots of "stuff" to whatever we are making.  But I really
like this challenge.  It really depends on the stamp you are using
to give your piece some interest.
I'm using The Little Pilgrim Girl stamp for this card.
I have stamped her with black ink onto white card stock.  I gave her face some color and
gave her rosy cheeks.  I used a gray marker to darken the darker areas and left
her little apron and cap white.  I mounted her onto a piece of paper that I
colored using Distress Oxide inks, then layered that with a white panel.
And she's done.

Please come join our CAS - Clean and Simple - challenge this month for the
chance to win some free stamps from Lost Coast Designs
and Carmen's Veranda!

Clean and Simple Card

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!
Cathy here with a CAS card.
This was a challenge for me. It took me 4 times to get this one card. I did it though and I love how it came out.
I started out with watercolor paper.( that makes a difference with this card)
Next I used masking tape.(I did try painters tape but it didn't work for me). I masked off a strip on the front of the card. Next I took my nuance powers. I must say if you have not tried these powders you should. They are so rich in color. I just love working with them.
I mixed the powder with some water to make a watercolor. I then took the watercolor and colored in the strip that I masked off. Dried it with a heat gun. Then I added more color to get the look I wanted. Again Dried it with a heat gun. You could let it air dry but I wanted to get to the next step faster. Then I took out my silhouette man with cane stamp  and stamped on the bottom of the card. Then I called it done.
Please come and try your hand at CAS.
