Alice on old book page

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello everyone! Aimee here--I'm a new Design Team member and this is my first tutorial. Let me start by saying how great these companies' stamps are; all of the fine details stamp out PERFECTLY. I promise you'll love them. For this all-occasion greeting card, I've used one of the Four Alices and two of the Brush Stokes stamps to create this card.

In addition to the stamps, you'll need a card base, a page from an old book, white cardstock for stamping the image, contrasting cardstocks to mount the book page, black pigment ink pad, light-colored pigment ink, ribbon, double-sided tape, embossing powder, a heat gun and either coloring pencils or alcohol markers.

I found an old German-language Fairy Tale book to use as my background paper. Isn't the font lovely? Look closely and you'll see it's the story of Hansel & Gretel. Too bad Alice in Wonderland wasn't a story option in this book. Visit your local thrift store to find neat old books at a great price.

Want to join in all the fun? Post your stamped "Children's Challenge" creation here on the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity by August 31 for your chance to win Lost Coast dollars.

If you have any questions or suggestions about this tutorial, please comment below.

Alice ATC's

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Good Morning Cathy here with some ATCs for you today.

I started off with some 110lb Kraft cardstock and I cut it up to ATC size.

I then stamped Alice from Alice and the Tweedles from the set with black ink. I dusted off my color pencils and colored her in. Added white highlights with a white pen. Next I dusted off my saying from one of the early Tim Holtz sticker books and make a quote to go with Alice. Traced the saying with a black marker and edged the ATC with black ink and we are done with Alice.

I started by stamping the Tweedle brothers in black ink and coloring them with my color pencils. Then I just repeated the same thing that I did on the Alice ATC with the words and outline.

I hope you come join the new challenge here

We're All Quite Mad Here....

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Friends...

Roni here with a few very "Mad" Altered Trading Coins...

It's time to jump down the rabbit hole and join Alice's friends for these coins.
I had a few scraps of left over from a recent paint pouring session and decided they would fit these crazy characters perfectly. Each image from the Rabbits, Cat Face, Hatter, Rabbit w/Watch set of stamps was stamped using Nocturne VersaFine Clair ink then colored with Memento Dual Tip Markers then fussy cut (the rabbit was die-cut) and affixed to the circles cut from the paint poured papers.  I then printed off a few quotes from the book and added them to each card.

Here is a closer look at each....

I hope you enjoy these very mad, mad, mad coins!
You still have a bit of time to enter before our next challenge but you better hurry...

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Today we're having a little show and tell about 6 ATCs made for an annual Alice in Wonderland themed ATC blog swap hosted by Marion B called "All Things Alice"!   The swap is currently underway with a "in Marion's hands" deadline of April 30 but Marion has a fab All Things Alice Pinterest board up so that we can see all the wonderlandful ATCs that will be winging their way to us from Germany very soon!  I can't wait to see which ones make it into my mailbox ;0)

LCDesigners Nanette and Leigh participated in the swap featuring stamps from Lost Coast Designs extensive Alice in Wonderland rubber stamp collection.

Here's mine featuring the following LCD stamps:

Please stop by my LeighSBDesigns blog for more photos and info on how I made my ATCs.

Here's Nanette's wonderlandful ATC set featuring the following LCD stamps:

Alice in Wonderland Celebration Blog Hop!

Welcome LCD/CV Fans and Happy 4th of July!
Today we are celebrating the 150th Anniversary of Alice in Wonderland, and what better way to do that, than to share lots of creative projects inspired by this wonderful story.
The Alice in Wonderland illustration stamps I used are available at Lost Coast Designs.  We have a whole category dedicated to Alice so stop by and check them all out!

Although our Lost Coast Portal blog isn't actually involved in this blog hop I figured there's no reason why I can't still share all the fabulous AIW inspired projects with you all here, invite you to hop along too and also share the project I made for the hop.  I wasn't sure if I was going to get the blog roll in time before I'm away from my computer for a while so more names could have been added to the blog roll already but Suzi kindly let me still play and provided the blog roll early enough for me to add at least a partial list to my posts!

Most of you know how much I love Alice in Wonderland and my passion for AIW goes hand in
hand with my passion for altered game art and today I'm sharing a set of altered Bendomino "Alice in Wonderland" Push Pins over on my DominoART blog.  I love using Bendominoes for my Alice projects, which are curved dominoes, coz the quirkiness of their shape ties in so nicely with the quirkiness of the Wonderland story!  For info and detailed photos stop by my post HERE or work your way there by starting the hop HERE.

Not only will you see lots of amazing artwork today, but you can also win prizes from the following amazing companies;

Prize winners will be selected from Random blogs throughout the hop using Random.org to select each winner.  In order to be eligible for a prize you must visit all stops on the hop and leave a comment. The prize draws will be open until July 18th, with winners announced on July 20th.

Blog Hop List
more blogs will have been added here already so check Karen's blog for more names!
