This is made with the Carmen's Veranda Birds Collage Background and Distress Ink. I really like this stamp, and will be using it A LOT!

Doggy Dreams More

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello.  Gail here today with some more inspiration for the CAS challenge running here at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity.  The linky closes at midnight 30th November so get out your stamps and inks, but remember to keep it clean and simple.

I stamped and embossed Lost Coast Designs Drake Dog and coloured him with neon gel pens and distress inks.  I masked him and stamped the Domino's Border and the Carmen's Veranda sentiment in dark blue dye ink, and the Face with Feathers with blue chalk ink.  That dog is just so cool and he knows it!!

In case you haven't seen, there is a Black Friday Sale over at Lost Coast Designs and you can save 20% on your whole order (before shipping) until midnight PST Sunday November 26th, so hop over and shop yourself a bargain.  Put Black Friday in the comment area of your order to receive the discount.  And don't forget to add your CAS creations to the challenge.  If the linky is not playing then just leave your link in the comments and we will add it to the draw to win Lost Coast dollars.

Thanks for visiting.  Hugz

Mannequin CAS

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!
Cathy here with a CAS card.
Okay this one went much better. It took me only one time to do this card.  I did use painters tape with this one and I used Distress Oxide ink to make the strip. I taped a strip on white cardstock and I took 3 colors of Oxide ink and colored the background inside the strip. I then took some water and sprayed it on the ink to make the spots.
Next I stamped the corner flourish with a gray ink before I removed the painters tape..
Then I stamped the mannequin stamp at the bottom with black ink.

Clean and Simple: Turquoise Peacock

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi all - Laurie here for another go at the CAS challenge.  I used one of the new fab stamps from Lost Coast Designs - Teri Peacock.  So many possibilities with this stamp and so many colors you could make your peacock.  I stamped mine with black ink onto white card stock.  Using Copic Sketch markers in shades of turquoise and purple, I colored in my peacock.  Then trimmed up my edges and layered it with turquoise and white.  So this makes a pretty card and is very simple to make.
Be sure to check out the raft of new stamps at the Lost Coast Designs website and don't forget to make your own CAS project and enter it here to win some free stamps!

Why Fit In -Clean and Simple

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi it's Sue here with my first Clean and Simple piece. Now I'm the first to admit I find C&S terrifying, I'm more of a painty and messy type crafter. But She Who Must Be Obeyed - Marilyn (just kidding Marilyn) :-)  said clean and simple, so here it is.

Agh all that white space, it's more scary than the 31 Days of Halloween!
This is a strip of a Gelli plate background, and the  lovely Flower Flourish.
The sentiment is the Carmen's Veranda clear stamp Born To Stand Out

I hope you join in with our challenge, unless it scares you too, in which case Man Up and join in anyway!

Have a great week, and thanks very much for looking x

Clean and Simple: Little Pilgrim

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi all, Laurie here for the Clean and Simple Challenge on the
Lost Coast Portal for the month of November.
It's really hard to make something "clean and simple" as I think we all
like to add lots of "stuff" to whatever we are making.  But I really
like this challenge.  It really depends on the stamp you are using
to give your piece some interest.
I'm using The Little Pilgrim Girl stamp for this card.
I have stamped her with black ink onto white card stock.  I gave her face some color and
gave her rosy cheeks.  I used a gray marker to darken the darker areas and left
her little apron and cap white.  I mounted her onto a piece of paper that I
colored using Distress Oxide inks, then layered that with a white panel.
And she's done.

Please come join our CAS - Clean and Simple - challenge this month for the
chance to win some free stamps from Lost Coast Designs
and Carmen's Veranda!

Clean and Simple Card

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!
Cathy here with a CAS card.
This was a challenge for me. It took me 4 times to get this one card. I did it though and I love how it came out.
I started out with watercolor paper.( that makes a difference with this card)
Next I used masking tape.(I did try painters tape but it didn't work for me). I masked off a strip on the front of the card. Next I took my nuance powers. I must say if you have not tried these powders you should. They are so rich in color. I just love working with them.
I mixed the powder with some water to make a watercolor. I then took the watercolor and colored in the strip that I masked off. Dried it with a heat gun. Then I added more color to get the look I wanted. Again Dried it with a heat gun. You could let it air dry but I wanted to get to the next step faster. Then I took out my silhouette man with cane stamp  and stamped on the bottom of the card. Then I called it done.
Please come and try your hand at CAS.

Day of the Dead Day 5

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

It's Day 5 of Day of the Dead and I'm back to share my creation for the event. Before I do that, I want to remind you that you have until Midnight, December 12th to link up your Day of the Dead project for a chance to win some LCD/CV rubber.

I used Lefty, which is one of my favorite LCD stamps. I created a background with green and orange ink then did a little bit of random stenciling and stamping. I used CV Calligraphy Square to add the background text. I stamped Lefty on a piece of card, cut him out, and colored him with pencils. I wanted to add some words having to do with the Day of the Dead so I did a Google search, found one I liked, and printed it out on my computer.

Well, that's it for today. Don't forget to link up your entry HERE before Midnight, November 12th. Stay tuned tomorrow when I'll get caught up on the list of winners from our past challenges and events, including our most recent 31 Days of Halloween event.

Happy Stamping!

Day Of The Dead - Sue

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi, it's Sue here with my Day of the Dead project.
I started by making quite a bright background with stencils and the Agregate background stamp. I liked it a lot but it was too strong for my Sugar Skull Woman, so I put a coat of gesso over the top to calm it down a little.
I stamped her and cut her out and added some doodles and stencilling to blend her in. Then I stamped the Rustic Checkerboard Border so it would match the opposite page in my chippie album. The sentiment is a Carmen's Veranda clear stamp called Broken Look Beautiful

I hope you like her, and that you join in with our Day of the Dead event. Just link up via the linky.
Have a great week, and thanks very much for looking x

Day Of The Dead - Lefty Steps Out

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello and welcome to Day 3 of the Day of the Dead celebration here at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity.  Gail here today, and I must admit, this one was a challenge for me.  We don't celebrate Day of the Dead in the UK, and it is probably almost unheard of here in Norway.  But after reading a wonderful piece over at Altered Pages I grabbed Day of the Dead Lefty and made a skelliferous colour explosion that hopefully, will please the ancestors and send them happy to their places of rest for another year.
Lefty is obviously on his way home, beer in hand, after a very successful reunion party

I started by stamping and masking Lefty and then stamping Cracked Grass and embossing with black powder.  Then I coloured the 'grass' red and the areas in between with various Galaxy Markers.  Lefty is coloured with distress inks and gel pens.  Then I decided it needed more skulls and flowers......
These are Cheery Lynn die cuts that I doodled on. The tiny flowers are also Cheery Lynn, coloured with galaxy markers and black and white doodles.  The hearts are some embellishements sent to me by a crafty friend.  I backed the eye and nose holes with black glitter paper.
I backed my panel with a piece of gift wrap that seemed perfect for the theme.
Thanks for dropping by.  If you are creating for Day of the Dead then you can link up your creations to our challenge for a chance to win some Lost Coast Dollars!  Drop by every day this week for more bright and beautiful inspiration from the team.  Hugz

Day of the Dead: 3 Sugar Skulls

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi from Laurie!  Here at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity we are celebrating Day Of The Dead.  So I got myself the set of 3 sugar skulls from Lost Coast Designs, and when I started my project for this event, I could not decide which one to use.  So I used them all!!  You can buy each individually in a larger size or the set of  3 Small Skulls.

And since I decided to use all three, I decided to stick with a color scheme.   I started by stamping my skulls on white card stock with black ink.  Then I colored each using Copic sketch markers, in colors of red, orange, black, and yellow.  I left the teeth white and just outlined around them with a fine point black marker.  I added some googly eyes - I think it kind of makes them come to life.  Then simple mounting on a piece of Halloween scrapbook paper layered with white then black card stock.  These sugar skulls look good in almost any color combinations, so be creative and go crazy!!

You can link up your Day of the Dead projects for a chance to win some Lost Coast dollars.

Hello all Cathy here with my Day of the Dead project.
I started of with a wooden stand and I painted it black. As it was drying I stamped winged skeleton onto white cardstock. Colored the heart with a red copic marker. Next I cut out the image.

Then I glued it to my painted wood piece. Then I glued the flowers to the bottom.
Enjoy.
