Make it Funny - Artists

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello there, it's Liesbeth again with a ,Make it Funny' card! You can find everything about the challenge HERE .

I started with a background using Distress paint, Distress ink, Dylusions spray and a stencil. I stamped the face (ATC faces set) with black StazOn and masked it. After that I stamped the Daisy flourish, parts of  the Flagstone background, and the text. I removed the mask from the face and bleached the face and the tiny flowers with some bleach and a synthetic fine paintbrush. Using charcoal, I made a shadow arond the face and I coloured the lips and flowers with coulor pencils. I finished with a white gel pen to highlight the eyes and the text.

Hope to see you at the Make it Funny Challenge!
Hugs, Liesbeth

Make It Funny: Trio of Penquins

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi again from Laurie with a series of three tags for the
Make It Funny Challenge.
I used Katzelkraft's Grumpy Penguins Stamp Set, which is available from Lost Coast Designs, and three of Carmen's Veranda Clear Stamps.  There is a great selection of sentiments so be sure to check all four pages!

I used the same background for each of my tags.  It is a Gelli print I made using blue and green acrylic paints.  I then stenciled my tags with Distress Oxide Ink in Abandoned Coral and white paint, using a different stencil for each tag. I added a bit of black random stamping for some contrast.

Next I stamped my penguins onto white card stock with black ink and fussy cut them.  I colored their beaks orange and added some Glossy Accents to the beaks and eyes.  I placed each penguin on the lower portion of the tag to give me room at the top for my stamped sentiment.  I added a hat to each and used some foam tape to give then some dimension.  The hats can be found at Vertical Party Hats at Lost Coast Designs.  I simply stamped three different hats and cut them out, only adding a couple of little flowers to Mrs. Penguin's hat.

Sentiments were stamped with black ink onto white card stock, cut out, and edged with black ink.  All sentiments were also attached with foam tape.   For the final step I added some ribbon and various colored fibers to each tag.

Slightly Deranged

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello all my inky friends... Roni here with another piece for the current challenge
#84 - Make it Funny!

I decided to use the Swimsuit Girl for this card so I stamped her several times in different colors of ink then fussy cut and paper pieced her back together for the image I used on the card. I decided she needed a little bling so I added some glitter to her bathing suit, boots and hat.

To make the card I started off with a white card panel that I stamped with the Daisy Flourish.  I stamped a portion of the Grunge Black Swirl onto a scrap of brown cardstock and tore the edge.  The background panel was mounted on a black card blank with the brown strip mounted on top. I added the swimmer to the card then stamped the sentiment - Spirit Unicorn - off to the side.  It was finished off with a few sparklie dots.

Stamps:
Lost Coast Designs - Swimsuit Girl, Daisy Flourish
Carmen's Veranda - Grunge Black Swirl, Spirit Unicorn

There is still time to join in on the fun for the Make It Funny Challenge!

Make It Funny - Many Sheep

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Greetings Portal Peeps.  Gail here today.  I hope you are enjoying all the hillarious projects the team is sharing at the moment.  We have a Make It Funny challenge going on and we would love to see your funny stamped projects.  Go on!  Make us laugh!!  You know you want to!!

There are some new stamps in the Lost Coast Designs shop and I
thought these sheeps was very funny.
This new stamp is called Many Sheep, for obvious reasons.  I paired it with Carmen's Veranda Dare To Be Different sentiment.   Rather than add my sentiment strip right over the top of the sheep I decided to fussy cut the ones that would be covered by the sentiment so the ones above it are peering over the top, like sheeps do, and the ones below are standing in front of it, looking very sheepish!!   I also couldn't resist cutting that last one at the bottom so his nose just sticks out of the frame!!  I must admit I have spent a little bit of time this afternoon checking out all the different expressions on the faces.  Funny or what??

Make It Funny Challenge: Drink Wine and Knit

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi from Laurie and Happy Autumn - well almost!  Love this time of year so I hope it is beautiful wherever you are.

Our challenge for the last half of September is Make It Funny.  Create something fun with either a humorous saying or image and enter it here on the Portal for a chance to win some free stamps.

I made a card for this one using the Early Stitch 'n Bitch stamp from Lost Coast Designs and one of the funny clear sentiment stamps from Carmen's Veranda.

I had this piece of flowered tissue paper that had always reminded me of my Grandmother's parlor wallpaper.  So I thought it would be a perfect background for my knitting ladies.  I adhered it to a piece of cream colored card stock with Modge Podge then cut it into a square-ish shape and edged it with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  I layered that with some kraft card stock.

Next I stamped my ladies onto white paper with black ink and fussy cut them out.  I added a bit of color to their hands, faces, and the knitting basket and yarn with Copic Sketch markers.  I positioned my stamped image at the bottom center of my card and adhered it.  Next I stamped my sentiment with black ink onto a cream rectangle, edged it with the same Distress Ink, and affixed it above my knitting ladies.

Perfect sentiment for this fun stamp!

Dance from your heart....

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Happy Day!

Ink Stained Roni here...I hope you are all ready for some stamping today....

Our current challenge Song & Dance had me thinking of all the times we used to dance around the house on Saturday mornings, music cranked helping Mom to clean the house. To a kid it made chore time seem a bit more fun.

I decided to give the "Housewife" stamp a bit of glamour by adding glitter to her apron, fluffy slippers and hair bow.  I figured she needed transported from her kitchen to a sparkling dance hall.  The background is Iridescent Green & Original (clear) Creative Medium which was applied over a stencil that I then sprinkled with iridescent green flake glitter while it was still wet. I love how it turned out!  I added a computer generated sentiment to help finish it off.

Hope you all have a lovely day and dance to your hearts content!
