Festive fun, plaid pants Santa wallhanger

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi there, Riet here.
Yes christmas is coming.
Love this time of the year.
So I made a wallhanger.

 I used,

Plaid pants Santa

Watercolor paper, 10,5 x 14,8cm  4,1 x 5,8 inches
Stazon midnight blue and Jet black
Distressink vintage photo and antique linen
Color pencils
Silver gellpen
I started with the piece of watercolorpaper.
Stamped the santa on the paper and stamped a mask.
Mask the santa and sponge with the antique linen the card.
Use the vintage photo to ad shadow.
Remove the mask and color the santa.
Color the star and the buttons on his boots with the silver gellpen.
Now for the borderstamp
Take a long piece of paper and stamp the border 4 times with the stazon midnight blue.
Sponge it with the antique linen.
I made some shadow in the corners of the checkers with the vintage photo.
Now make a frame of the border around the card.
I glued 4 hotfix stars and added the chain for hanging.
 I loved making this hanger.
And I really think the checkerd border finished it off.
I love to work with borders, I use them a lot.
Lost coast designs has a lot of great borders.
You can find them here.

Hope you make some thing to and join our challenge.

We cant wait to see your makes.

Festive Fun: Santa Gnome

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi from Laurie bringing you a card for the holidays to celebrate our "Festive Fun" challenge going on here at the Portal.

For this card, I used the Pompom Gnome stamp from Lost Coast Designs and the Dear Santa clear stamp from Carmen's Veranda.

I started by going through my stash of Christmas papers and selecting some in the traditional red, green and white Christmas colors.  I then cut thin strips of each paper I had chosen and glued them to a piece of white card stock.  When I was done I had a piece more than twice this size so will have some left over for another project.  I trimmed up the edges then using my sewing machine stitched around the border.  I then layered this with a white card base.

Next I stamped my gnome onto white card stock with black ink and colored his suit and hat red, his nose pink, and his shoes black.  I cut him out and glued him to my card front as shown, and then   attached a pompom to the tip of his Santa hat.  I stamped my sentiment with black ink onto white paper, and because my card is rather narrow, I reduced the size on my printer and printed out a copy which I then cut out and outlined with black ink.  I affixed this to the upper portion of my card front, and that's a wrap!

Come join us for some "Festive Fun" here on the Portal for a chance to win some free stamps!

Festive Fun - Woof Woof Christmas!

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Welcome friends to the Festive Fun Challenge!

Today I wanted to share my dog-gone fun Christmas card with you....

How fun is that? Perfect for any dog-lover in your life and so easy to do.

I started off with a fun background that I had in my stash. I stamped the Doodle Circles background using Imagine's VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink then embossed with black embossing powder.

Next I colored the various circles with alcohol inks.

I then stamped and colored the Many Dogs background stamp onto a piece of white cardstock. I fussy cut particular dogs to fit into each circle and glued them down.

A bit of pen work in between the circles and the stamped sentiment and I called it good.

There's still time to join in on the fun!!

Festive Fun: Let's Celebrate!

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi everyone, Liesbeth here, it's my turn to show you some inspiration for our Festive Fun challenge! Read everything about it HERE and let's stamp together...hope you'll join the fun.
My example is a very simple one:
I made a background onto very glossy paper (Chromolux) using alcohol inks. With black StazOn ink, I stamped the  Tres Caballeros  and cut it out with a photo edge scissors. I did the same with the text (Party words) I finished the card with lots of glitter glue at the hats and a bit of white gel pen.

Happy Holidays

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello all Cathy here with a slimline card for you.
Stamps used.
So I was inspired by my Christmas pattern paper I have. (pinks, teals, whites, )
I stamped Pointy hat gnome on white cardstock and then I stamped small snowflake set in pinks all around him.
I then colored him in teal to match the teal snowflake pattern paper.
Next I layered the papers and then I decided to make it into a slimline card. So I then took one of the snowflake from the  small snowflake set that I didn't use and stamped that in teal ink all over the card base.

The sale is still going on .

# 111 Festive Fun.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you

Hello everyone, Riet here.
Today I made a tag for this fun challenge.
I will explain how I made it.

First a list of what you need.
Distressink, Vintage photo.
Distress Oxide, Bundled sage and speckled egg.
A peace of design paper.
A piece of off-white paper.
A tag cutting die.
Poinsettia cutting die.
Holly and branch die.
And the lovely “party pig girl LCD stamp”

Now here we go.
Die cut the tag from the designpaper.

Do the same with the off-white paper but a little bit bigger.

Take a extra piece from the off-white paper en run it trough the oxides.
This is for the poinsttia’s and the twigs and holly leaves.
Let the paper dry well.
Stamp with vintage photo the girl stamp.
And sponge the edges of the tags with vintage photo.

Now die cut the poinsettia and the leaves and sponge the edges with vintage photo.
Glue the tags and the poinsettia together.

Now that was a easy and quick tag.
Hope you have fun and join our challenge.
Its fun and a great opportunity to win some rubberstamps.
And please read our challenge rules.

Spooktacular Florals: scary bird man :-)

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi stampers, Liesbeth here with the final Blogpost for our Spooktacular Florals challenge. Tomorrow a new one will start!

This is how I made this card: I stamped the flowers from the ATC Doodles set several times with orange and purple ink. Using black ink, I stamped Bird Diva and scattered a tiny bit of silver embossingpowder and melted it with a heat tool. I also stamped  Spiderweb background on some corners. On a seperate piece of paper I stamped the mans head (Victoriana) and cut him out. Before glueing him on the card, I made a shadow behind it using charcoal, just to let the head pop out. I coloured the piece with color pencils and added the text (Misc. Words)

See you next time! Liesbeth XX

Spooktacular Florals: Three Small Skulls

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi again from Laurie with another project for the current challenge:  Spooktacular Florals.  I made three ATCs for this, each featuring one of the DOD skulls from the 3 Small Skulls Set of rubber stamps from Lost Coast Designs.

All three of my backgrounds are scraps of prints I have made for various projects including two Gelli prints and one stenciled print.  On the turquoise one I have used the Bubble Background stamp along both edges, and on the green and red I used the Loopy Background stamp across the whole background.

I stamped each of the three skulls onto white card stock with black ink and cut them out.  I then colored each with brighter shades of Copic Sketch Markers.  I added some bling to the eyes of all three skulls - sequins, flowers, glass pebbles, etc.  I then attached each to one of the three backgrounds I had chosen, two of which include some LCD background stamping.

I hope you will join us for the fun and spooktacular challenge!  Be sure to use some rubber stamping on your projects and you just might win some free stamps!!

Bouquet of Roses

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Welcome to Challenge #110 - Spooktacular Floral

I love this challenge...check out why....

Isn't this a wickedly fun image!! Who'd have thought a bouquet of flowers with creepy little doll faces thrown in for fun - LOL!!  I love it!  It's called Heads & Roses Background.

This card was made by stamping the image once with VersaFine Clair Nocturne and once with VersaMark ink and embossed with New Years Eve Mboss embossing powder (black & glitter!!). The flowers were all colored using Marabu Art Crayons and left to dry. I fussy cut select doll faces from the plain stamped image, colored with a green colored pencil then affixed them to the embossed panel using foam tape. It really is quite creepy seeing them pop out of the background!  This panel was then mounted on a black mat which in turn was affixed to a red card base.

Such a fun and creepy card don't you think?

Have a spooky day my friends!
Roni

Supplies:

Carmen's Veranda - Heads & Roses Background
Imagine - VersaFine Clair, VersaMark, Mboss - New Years Eve
Marabu Art Crayons
Colored Pencils, Foam Tape, Cardstock

#110 Spooktacular Florals

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello dear stampers, Riet here.
Today a card with the theme spooktacular florals.
I chose the day of the dead.
The beautiful large skull can be found here,
http://www.lost-coast-designs.com/dod.html.
I made the background with Distress oxide,
Musterd seed, Mermaid lagoon, Abandoned coral and Lucky clover.
I used a flower stencil / mask from Pronty.
Then I sponge with the 4 distress oxcides.
I outlined the flowers with a black finliner.
I colored the skull with zig markers.
And with a nuvo aqua shimmer added some glitter here and there.
Cut out the skull and glue it on.
I put a black mat behind it, because then the colors look even more vibrant.
And finally I glued two large glitter stones on the eyes.
Our challenge will run until the 15th, so make some time and join us.
You can win some rubberstamps.
Isn't that fantastic, have fun stamping.

Spooktacular Frank

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!  Gail here today with grumpy Frank.  He was complaining that I hadn't got him out of the box for Halloween so I said he could have pride of place today!
Our new challenge is Spooktacular Florals, so Day of the Dead and/or Floral and/or Spooky anythings work, but please remember the theme and real handstamping, rubber or clear,
must be the focus of your project.
I've gone spooky CAS, although I do think Frank is too cute to spook!!
I used some dark green leather effect card for my card base.  Carmen Veranda's Frankenstein was stamped and black powder embossed on white card, smeared with Cracked Pistachio distress ink and spritzed with water.  When he was dry I used a little orange and green gel pen on his bolts and eyes.  For the extra scary effect I used Lost Coast Designs License Plate Alphabet, stamped B O O on orange card and embossed with Zing Lime Green opaque powder.
You have until the November 14th to link up your Spooktacular Florals projects.  Remember you must use the theme and hand stamping on your anythings.   See you there.......
