31 Days of Halloween Day 3 - Sugar Skulls

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi, Darlene here with my first make for October and the
31 Days of Halloween

I started with this bunting made using the three small skulls

Did you know these Skulls come in 3 different sizes !!  whoo hoo

What I put together was this bunting

I embossed the skulls in silver onto black cardstock, then fussy cut out
(they were not very fussy - easy peasy - LOL)
Added some silver threads in behind
and added bling for the eyes

Glued the images onto the flags -
the material was rough cut out and stapled onto a string

Overall think it turned out kinda fun

Be sure to enter your Halloween make
and perhaps win some new stamps !!!

Double Trouble by Roni

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

A not so scary twosome!

This pair of sugar skulls were stamped with VersaFine Clair Nocturne (black) ink and then colored with Radiant Neon inks.  I love how the neon inks make them pop!

The background was made by stamping the flowers (again with Radiant Neon inks) and masking as I went. So easy yet it produces such an amazing backdrop for the wickedly cool duo!

Day Of The Dead Candles

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello.  Welcome.  Gail here today with an idea for some Day of the Dead decorations.  Now, here in Norway Day of the Dead is not celebrated, but celebration it is, despite it's gory title.  So I decided to use Lost Coast Designs 3 Small Skulls and decorate some candles.
These stamps are approximately 2.5" high and I used 3" pillar candles.  These images are also available as larger and smaller versions.
I started by stamping and embossing my images on white tissue paper.  The embossing is not strictly necessary but it did add a bit of gloss to the final project.  I coloured the images with Promarkers and ripped around them.  Rip your tissue paper, don't cut it.  A cut edge shows at the end, a ripped edge doesn't.  I use a piece of baking paper to hold my image in place against the candle.  This also helps avoid burnt fingers LOL.   Heat gently with the heat tool til the image sticks to the wax.  You can always heat it a bit more if need be, but over heating will result in a melted candle!
Aren't they just adorbs!!!!  Can't wait to have these on display!
Thanks for dropping by.
Don't forget to join up your stamped Dia De Los Muertos makes for a chance to win Lost Coast dollars!!
