You Talkin' To ME

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Good morning and a very happy Wednesday. It's Sue here, and I'm sharing my second card for our Tweet This challenge.

I've made this for my cousin (phew that's one male card done and dusted for this year!)

I started by die cutting my top card then stamping and masking my two birds.

Then I inked up the card using distress inks and flicked water.
I stamped the Circles Background on another piece of card, coloured some circles and cut them out.
These are some of my favourite Lost Coast stamps.

To finish off I stuck down the circles and cut a card blank and sewed it all together.
There is still a couple of days to get involved in the challenge so please keep stamping your birds.
Have a wonderful day whatever you are doing, and thanks so much for looking x

Tweet This: 3 Birds

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi again from Laurie with another project for the current "Tweet This" challenge going on through the end of March here on the Portal.  I used the Birds Collage background stamp for this.  It's one of my favorite stamps, and I've tried to show how it can be used as a beautiful design on it's own and not just as a background stamp.

This was super easy:  I stamped the image onto vellum paper with black StayzOn ink and let it dry well.  I colored parts in with Copic Sketch markers then trimmed around the edges.  I layered it over a piece of vintage music paper, which you can see shows through.  This was layered with brown and dark yellow card stock, and that's it!

So get out your birdie stamps and show us what you can make for this Challenge for a chance to win some free stamps from Carmen's Veranda and Lost Coast Designs!

Vintage Raven

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Cathy here with a card with a flip
Stamps Used:
I started off with some Tim Holtz paper and I stamped MRaven 2. Then I added snippets of paper and I stamped ATC set 6 on the circle. I added washi tape to make it open up on the front of the card.

I stamped Wings (only 1) on the inside of this, colored it with Copic markers and I added sparkle but you can't see. On the other side I stamped  Daisy flourish
For the card base I used Daisy flourish and ATC set 6 stamped randomly around the front.

Come join the fun here

#140 Tweet this, challenge.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello bloggers, Riet here.
Today I worked on a large scale, an A4 21cmx30cm.
I think the crows are fantastic, they are so mysterious.
I have used various stamps.
Stazon black
Distress oxide wilted violet, mermaid lagoon and black soot.
6inch gelli plate round and a round mini gelli plate.
Water resistent fineliner.
Dutch doobadoo stencil bubbles.
Memento tuxido black

And this how I made it.
I started by smearing the large gelli plate with the distress oxides.
First go through these steps with 1 color and then repeat with the other colors.
I sprayed some water over it.
Turned the gelli plate over and used it as a stamp.
Stamp in the middle of the paper.

Look how beautiful that is, be careful when you do the step with the black.
It soon becomes too much black.

With the small gelli plate, repeat the same steps, only with 1 color.
Stamp the small circle right above and left below.

Take the Birds in trees stamp and the black Memento.
Print the stamp on the gelli plate (kiss technique),
and then print the gelli plate on the small circles of distress oxide.
Now stamp with black the Bird on bike,
and the long strip of letters from the pieces of calligraphy stamp sheet.
In the top left corner and bottom right corner,
I splattered some more ink.
I thought it was a bit too empty there.

I drew lines around the circles with the fineliner and did some scribbling.

Top left and bottom right I have stamped the pieces of calligraphy set.
And with the stencil I put circles divided in the two colors.

Finaly I stamped the Raven with tree branches in black ink.
And I cut 1 crow off the border stamp.
I stamped these here and there in the colored circles.

Because it is a large page, I glued it in my Art journal, to which I will write some texts later.

I hope you liked it and join our challenge.
You are welcome and you can even participate with other brands.
You probably have a stamp with a bird, so join the fun.
You can even win new stamps.

Tweet This: Birds card

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi everyone, welcome to our Tweet this Challenge full of lovely birds! Join the fun!

This is how I made this card: I stamped the big circle from the Shadow Frames set 3 times onto a coloured card with orange ink and masked them. With yellow ink I stamped Dove Square a few times on the background, and also the script (Pieces of Calligraphy) using black ink. I removed the masks and stamped two of the birds from 3 Birds and the word ,bird' (Doodle Alphabet) with black StazOn ink. I bleached the birds and word using bleach and a synthetic brush. I finished the card with charcoal: a black shadow around the birds and at the edges.

See you next time!

Tweet This: Ducks In A Row

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi from Laurie with a fun card for our newest challenge:  Tweet This.  Think all things bird related for this one.  This card uses the Doodle Circles background stamp and the Vertical Party Hats border stamp from Lost Coast Designs.  The duck stamp from the Duck and Bunny set and the clear stamp, Ducks In A Row, are both from Carmen's Veranda.
The background for this started with a piece of scrapbook paper.  Using the Doodle Circles stamp, I randomly stamped some pink and yellow Oxide Distress Inks onto the paper.  I also edged the paper with the yellow ink and used a darker shade of pink ink to "splatter" the paper as well.

The duck was stamped with black ink onto white card stock and colored with Copic Sketch markers, then fussy cut out.  The hat was stamped onto pink card stock, cut out, and affixed atop the duck's head.  I then attached the duck to the left side of the card front with foam tape for dimension.  The sentiment was stamped onto white card stock with black ink and layered with a piece of pink card stock.  This was then attached as shown to the right side of the card front.  Done and dusted!

Let's see what fun creations you can make for this newest "birdie" challenge!  Be sure to feature rubber stamping in your projects, and you just might win some free stamps from Carmen's Veranda and Lost Coast Designs!

#139 "Round and round" challenge at Lost Coast designs

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello dear stamp friends, Riet here.
Yes, you can do a lot with the challenge round and round.
I chose a card with a butterfly in a circle with the beautiful text stamp of Carmens Veranda.
The butterfly is from the LCD butterfly set.

I ran a glossy cardstock through the distressink Evergreen bough, Peacock feathers and Twisted citron.
I punched a circle from a piece of watercolor paper and stamped a butterfly with waterproof ink.
Masked the butterfly and made some spots on the background with the distress colors.
I colored the butterfly with markers.
I also gave the butterfly a layer of glitter.
I stamped the CV text with Versafine onyx black.
The card and circle are matted with black and the black circle is somewhat frayed with a distress tool.
Would you like to join our challenge?
Then quickly click on the link and participate, you have a chance to win new stamps.
Hope you liked it, see you next time.

ATC coins

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Cathy here with some ATC coins for you.
Stamps Used:
Carrie's Menagerie
I made the background with alcohol inks, stencils and paint. I used a punch out of the backgrounds I didn't think would make great card fronts. They made perfect ATC coins.
I then stamped Mouse 3 on the bottom of one then stamped Cat 2 upside down on the top. Edged the coin with ink and added a snarky saying.

For the second one I stamped Giraffe in the center and then the Mini crown set all around, Edged this coin with ink and added a snarky saying.

Come join the fun here.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Good morning and a very happy Sunday. It's Sue here with my project for our fun "Round and Round " challenge.

I started with some circus themed designer paper and fussy cut some tickets.

Then I stamped and cut out my dogs and balls from the Circus Dogs Set.

Then it was just a case of getting my dogs to balance on the balls at the same time as juggling, and holding a sign! Who's a clever boy then!

These are my lovely stamps.
