Things with Wings: Chicken

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi everyone! Liesbeth here with another Thing with Wings, for our Challenge! I'm adicted to glossy paper and alcohol inks at the moment, so I made this background that way! I stamped the AUD Chicken and masked it, after that I stamped the Birds in Trees a several times and also Carte Postale. I used black StazOn ink. I removed the mask and  finished the card with gel pens and glitter.

See you next time!

# 152, Things with wings, art journal page.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello everyone, Riet here.
Today an art journal page for the "things with wings" challenge.
I stamped it purely with ink.
Lost Coast Designs has released a great new sheet,
I have enjoyed stamping with this new sheet.

Stamps I used:
Five stamps from the Brush strokes sheet
Carmen's Veranda, Art wings to fly.

Stazon Jet black
Distress oxide
Wild honey
Bundled sage
Peacock feathers
Saltwater taffy
Watercolor markers

I started with Stazon Jet black.
I stamped the Praying angel with it.
I also stamped the checkered border and crows border with the Stazon jet black.
With the 4 colors Distress oxide and some water I made some ink spots on the empty spots.
I stamped the background with these five stamps from the brush strokes sheet.
All with the distress oxide colors.

With the crackle stamp and black stazon,
i made some small prints in the empty spots of the paper.
With the long small stamp I stamped the edges with stazon jet black.
With the markers I colored the goth crow and the angel.
I hope you enjoyed it and that you also get to work on the challenge theme, "Things with wings".
You can also participate with other brands.
But of course we prefer Lost coast designs or Carmen's Veranda stamps.
You have until the 30th to participate, and you can also win new stamps.
The team is looking forward to what you will make, so feel free to join us.

On Top Of The World

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Good morning and a very happy Saturday. It's Sue here, and today I'm sharing my second project for our 'Things With Wings' challenge.

I started by stamping on black card and embossing with white embossing powder.

Then I dabbed different colours of Stazon over the top and wiped off any excess with an old towel.
Isn't this a beautiful stamp? She's been coloured with watercolour pens and then cut out.

And now she's on top of the world!

These are my fabulous stamps. I've used

I hope you like it, and that you join in with our challenge. Remember there is a chance to win some Lost Coast $ for our lucky winner!
Take care and have a very happy day whatever you are doing x

Things With Wings Challenge: Star Boy

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Howdy from Laurie with a card for the current challenge here on the Portal:  Things With Wings.  Lots to choose from for this one so get creative with it and have fun!

This project uses the Star Halo little boy stamp from Lost Coast Designs and the Smell Cake clear stamp from Carmen's Veranda.  My background is a gel print I made using Distress Oxide Inks in brown and cream, rolled onto my gel plate with a brayer then pressed with a foam impression plate to get the design.

My little boy was stamped with black ink onto white card stock and colored with Copic Sketch markers.  I added some gold accents to the butterfly wings as well.  Since I couldn't fussy cut out the stars when I fussy cut the little boy, I stamped the stars onto the center of the card front then affixed my little boy directly beneath them so they didn't get lost in the fussy cutting.  I colored them in with a bit of gold ink as well.

The sentiment was stamped with blue ink onto a white square, outlined in blue, and attached directly above the little boy as shown.  This was then layered with a white panel and that's a wrap!

We are excited to see your winged creations so please be sure to enter them here on the Portal for a chance to win some free stamps!

Great things take time

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello, all Cathy here with a card for you.
Stamps Used:
I started off making this background for the background challenge, but I didn't know what to do with it, so I set it aside. I used the new distress color to make the background, I splashed some water on it to lighten the color.
I stamped the dragon fly from the Bugz set  on white paper and painted the wings with the new distress shimmer sprays in green and I just used distress ink for the body in purple. I also splattered some of the shimmer spray on the background. You kinda see it.
Lasty, I added a saying sticker to it.

Come join the fun and show us your wings here.

Autumn Queen

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps.  Gail here today.  The weather here in Norway has certainly changed the last few days.  Warm dry days became wet and now a cold wind is blowing away summer and bringing in autumn.  I decided to use the lovely oranges and browns of fall for my Things With Wings project today along with one of the new mini collage stamps Linda recently added to the shop.

Love these mini collage stamps.  They take all the work out of getting a lovely layered look to your stamping.  This one is called Mini Bug collage and I decided my bug was a bee.

I started by making my background using Lost Coast Designs Leaves Background.  I stamped it first with yellow, then orange and finally red archival ink to layer up my colours and add some warmth and depth.  Then I stamped the frilly edge of the Bug Collage stamp so I didn't have to fussy cut it LOL.
I stamped the Mini Bug collage in brown ink and then inked the bee again with black and overstamped for a bit more definition.  I added a little yellow and some glitter glue to the wings and fussy cut.
I stamped Carmen's Veranda Queen of Everything on a scrap of the grid card I was using and put all the layers together, adding a scrap of red card to the top and left hand side of each panel.
I hope you have time to grab some winged thing stamps and join the challenge.  Linky closes end of the month.  Don't forget to check out all the awesome inspiration from the team here on the blog.
Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

#151 Use at least 3 stamps challenge.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello dear stampers,
Riet here with 2 houses for the house, lol.
I had 2 pieces of wood and sawn houses from them.
I found the sentiments Geluk (happiness) and Liefde (love) so suitable for these houses.
Because that's what we all want, a house full of happiness and love.
It was a present for my daughter, so I chose the Dutch sentiments.
But LCD also has these stamps in English, here is the link.

Now the description of how the houses are made.
What I used.
Stazon Jett black, white acrylic paint, beige/brown markers.

First I painted the blocks with white paint.
It doesn't have to be neat, I wanted it to look worn.
When the paint was dry I sanded the edges with sandpaper.

Then I stamped the shrubbery stamp with the stazon.

Then I stampd the bees and I masked them.

Stamped the text on it.
I gave the bees some color with the beige and brown markers.
And really, that was all.
Easy and yet such a nice result.
Have you also made something fun with 3 stamps or more?
Show us and join the challenge until September 15th.
It may even be stamps from other brands.
Here is the challenge link, and here you will find the rules for the challenge.
Hope you will play along and maybe you are the winner of some gorgeus rubber stamps.

Use at Least 3 Stamps: Fish Collage

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi again from Laurie with another entry for this current challenge:  Use At Least 3 Stamps.
I had the chance to play with some of the newer stamps from Lost Coast Designs for this one -
Mini Fish Collage and the Pieces of Calligraphy Set.  Linda has created several beautiful and intricate collage stamps so be sure to check them out in the "New" section on the website.

I used a 6 x 6 scrapbook paper pad for this project. It's part of the Craft Papers collection from Craft Consortium called "Grunge - Light Tones".  There are a lot of great softer colors, and I love how the background piece for this one looks like it was made with blended alcohol inks.

I started by stamping my Fish collage several times onto several of the different paper colors.  Once I had a background I was happy with, I re-stamped the fish, the shell, and the domino onto different
colors and cut them out, superimposing them atop the original stamped image.  I added a bit of green Copic Sketch marker to the fish to give him a bit more depth.  I edged this with black ink after cutting it into a tidy square.

The background is another piece from this collection, and I randomly stamped 6 of the 7 stamps in the Pieces of Calligraphy set with black ink onto this square of paper.  I centered the Fish Collage and attached it with foam tape.  Final step was to trim down the background piece and edge it with black marker.

Hope you are having fun with this challenge which requires you to use at least 3 of the stamps in your stamp collection to make something fun and fabulous!

Foolish Mortals tag

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Cathy here with a tag for you.
Stamps Used:

I started off with a #8 white tag and I used distress oxide spray on the background. I then stamped Numbers border on the side.
I then stamped a ticket stamp from the Travelers set on the bottom. Next, I stamped a butterfly from the Butterflies set on white cardstock and cut out. I found a paperdoll and added the wings to the back and glued him to the bottom of the tag.
Lastly, I stamped randomly text from ATC set 6 in the same distress ink all over the background. Added a saying and ribbon and we are done.

Today's Good Mood!

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Good morning and a very happy Tuesday! It's Sue here with my card for our latest challenge over at Lost Coast Designs. For this one, we need to use at least 3 stamps. This is really easy for me as I always use loads of stamps - I just LOVE putting them all away again lol.

I started by making quite a bright background using distress inks, stencils, and lots of stamps and white embossing powder.

Then I nabbed a spot for my sentiment. It was also somewhere for my clown to stand on!
And these are my fun images! I love Pope Clown, he really looks like he knows how to have a good time!

Yep, I've definitely used at least 3 stamps lol. I've used

And we're all done!
I must admit I do like this one, and I've already got someone in mind for it.
I hope you join in with our challenge, and be sure to use at least 3 stamps.

Take care and have a very happy week xx
