#204 Anything goes. Giftbox for chocolates.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi there, Riet here.
I made a gift box to fill with chocolates.
I love the LCD Pokey animals, and I enjoyed decorating the box with them.
What I used,

Distress oxide,
Twisted citron
Lucky clover
Cracked pistachio
Derwent inktense for the coloring
Black waterresistent inkpad
Stencil Craft emotions
We r makers, giftbox punch board

How to make this box.
Make a box on the punch board
or a score board.
I stained the paper with twisted citron and cracked pistachio.
I used an ink blender and lucky clover to transfer the stencil pattern.
Stamp the animals and butterfly on thin paper
and color them in with pencil or markers.
Now take the smallest text stamp from the Pieces of calligraphy set.
Stamp here and there with twisted citron.
Now we take the Brush strokes set and grab the stamp with the small dots.
Stamp a narrow strip of this in black.
Rotate the stamp in different directions.

To finish it off, stamp a butterfly, color it, and cut it out.
Fill the box and close it.
Glue the butterfly to the top tab of the closure.

That's it for today, I hope you enjoyed it.
Please join the anything goes challenge, which runs until the end of the month.
You have a chance to win stamps, which is really cool.

31 Days of Halloween Day 1

Hi there, Riet here, with the opening of our Halloween/Day of the dead challenge.
Do you enjoy Halloween/Day of the dead as much as I do?
I'm sure so, who doesn't love these holidays?
Join our challenge.
There ar free rubberstamps to win.

How to make this card.
What I used.
LCD stamps,
White gellpen
White posca
Versfine onyx black
Derwent Intense pencils

Stamp the skull in the middle of the card.
Stamp the flowers.
Masc the skull and flowers and stamp the swirl.

The entire card was created using only Inktense pencils.
So if you love coloring, this is a really fun card for you to make.

I started with the background,
and in the photo you can clearly see the difference
when the pencil comes into contact with water.

I made shadows with purple on the swirl.
After coloring, I added dots to the swirl with the white Posca pen.
I also added the butterflies.
With a white gellpen you can make some accents on the flowers and butterflys.
I darkened the top a bit with purple.
I have to admit, I got carried away with the coloring and forgot to take more photos.
Hope you liked the tutorial.

Perhaps you're also making Halloween/Day of the Dead crafts with stamps.
Feel free to join the LCD/CV challenge.
You can even enter with other brands.

#197 Are you kidding me. Made a tag with the lovely Bubbles girl stamp.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi there, Riet here with a new tutorial.
Make your own perfect resist.

Today a vintage tag for the challenge at
 Lost Coast designs/Carmens Veranda stamps.
I chose to work with pastel shades.
I think that suits this sweet vintage girl.

I used LCD stamps,

Distressink,
Speckled egg
Victorian velvet
Shaded lilac
Old paper
Vintage photo
Archival coffie
Or any other dark brown ink will do.

Perfect resist (home made)
2 parts white glue 1 part water.

Start by spraying the perfect resist on a clear sheet.

Use a sponge to apply it to the stamp.
Stamp on your tag and let it dry.

You apply the ink with an ink blending brush.

You will then see the stamp prints appear.
Just like magic.

Love the result.

Use a spray to make some fine water drops on the ink.

Stamp the Daisy florish Diagonally across the corners.
Do so with the wordt "Fly".

Use a sponge to darken the edges with Distressink Vintage photo.

Stamp the butterfly and girl, color them with the distress ink.
Cut them out and stick them on with foam tape.

but can also be about funny things.
It's up to you how you interpret it.
The team would love to see your crafty things in the challenge.
Anything goes as long as it's stamped on.
You don't even have to use LCD/CV stamps.
Read all about it in the rules.
Have fun creating and I hope to see your art.

#188 Children Challenge - A Bookmark.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi , Riet here with a little tutorial for this bookmark.
I used:
The name of the girl stamp is Bubbles,
The words behind the girl are from the Pieces of Calligraphy.

All the coloring is done with Inktense pencils.
Derwent Inktense nr:
Cadnium yellow 0210
 Tangerine 0300
Lime green 1535
Apple green1400
Malibu 1213
Iron blue 0840
Deep violet  0760
Burnt umber 1903

Skin tones:
Faber Castel - Albrecht Durer
8200-132
189
White gelpen.
Black waterproof inkpad.
Posca white for spletters or
White ink or paint for spletters.

I have to admit that it was actually a art journal page.
In the very last phase I made a big ink stain on the butterflies and the card was ruined.
I had put so much work into it and thought it was a shame to throw it away.
So I cut off the part with the stain and made a bookmark out of it.
In retrospect that was a good decision.

How to make it:
I started by stamping the girl Bubbles.
This stamp has two bubbles above her hands.
I left them off because I wanted her to grab the butterfly.
Stamp the girl on masking tape and mask her off.
Stamp the words and the 3 rings.
Let the text run a little through the rings.
Stamp only the black and white butterfly and mask it off.
Stamp the 3 butterfly's and overlap the cirkels a bit.

Start coloring the background, the cirkels and the little girl.
Stamp with black the black dots from the  brush strokes sheet.
Stamp the 3 butterflys on a thin piece off paper and color them.
Gleu them on the butterfly's and give them what accents with the white gellpen.
Cut off any excess butterflies.
Mask the girl again and spletter with the posca pen (or paint or ink).
Stamp the word "Dream" and give it some white accents.
Remove the masking tape.
Mat with a black cardstock and you ar done.

I hope you enjoyed it.
Maybe you want to join the challenge?
And have a chance to win new rubber stamps.
Stamp something with a child on it or make something for children.
As long as it is stamped and refers to the theme children.
Do your best and see you at the challenge.
