Happy Cat with Hearts

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Greetings! It's Kathi here squeaking in with my third card for the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity's February Love and Hearts Challenge 206 created with the Happy Cat Rubber Stamp by Lost Coast Designs!

Here it is!

Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp the Happy Cat twice — once onto a piece of white cardstock and once onto repositionable sticker paper.

Use Copic markers to color the cat. Fussy-cut the Happy Cat stamped onto the sticker paper and place him over his counterpart on the image panel as a mask.

Place a piece of acetate horizontally across the image panel at his paw/tail level, covering the top part of the image panel. Brush Peacock Feathers Distress Ink over the acetate and the masked cat onto the bottom of the image panel to ground the cat.

Move the acetate panel so that it's sitting at the top of the inked area. Brush Fossilized Amer Distress Ink over the top of the over the acetate and the masked cat onto the top of the image panel to add a bright cheerful background behind the cat.

Use a rectangle die to cut the image panel. Use a slightly larger rectangle die to cut polka-dot patterned paper and use it to mat the image panel die-cut. Set aside.

Cut a piece of striped paper to 4.25" x 5.25". Cut a piece of heart patterned paper to 4.25" x 4". Use a border die to cut striped patterned paper. Cut a thin strip of black/polka dot patterned paper.

Adhere the heart patterned paper to the top of the striped paper panel. Adhere the border strip to the top edge. Adhere the polka dot strip to the top striped patterned paper at the bottom of the card. Trim the layered patterned paper to 4" wide and edge with black ink.

Adhere the patterned paper panel to a grey A2 card. Adhere the matted image panel die-cut to finish the card.

It's your last chance to enter the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity's February Love and Hearts Challenge 206 for a chance to win Lo$t Coa$t Ca$h!

Stamp Happy Cat (large) on a separate white cardstock and color with Copic. Cut out.
Add to front of tag then add some ribbon.
I hope you will join the fun here.

Caffinate Tag

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Cathy here with a tag for you.
I hope you are enjoying the Summer.
I started out with I tag I had in my stash that I had made awhile ago. I want to say it made with distress ink but I cant say for sure. I know I have black paint splatters on it.
The xxxx's are glossy texture paste with some black paint to color it through a stencil.
Next I stamped the Happy Cat on the bottom of the tag. I stamped it again on white cardstock and colored it with Copic markers. Cut out and added it the cat on the tag.
Then I stamped corner swirl in gray ink around the edges of the tag.
I stamped Rise and Shine saying above the cat's head .

Artist Trading Coins

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!
Cathy here with some Artist Trading Coins
I started out using a 21/2 inch die because I do not have a punch that size. I must say I like the die because I can see where I want to cut. I started out making the middle of the ATCoin. I wanted them to me sturdy so I cut some 100lb weight cardstock and glued 2 of them together. You can use cardstock you really don't care for anymore because you will be covering it up with a top and bottom piece.
This one I have used Alcohol ink and just run my paper through it on a craft sheet. Next I stamped the doodles circles on it. On scrap white paper stamp the duck and color with Copic markers. Cut out. Add bunny ears on top of duck. Then glue duck to ATCoin and add saying. Edge with black ink and glue to middle.
This one I also started with Alcohol inks. I then stamped Adrien on the ATCoin. I made a mask and then I stamped doodle circle for the background. Add saying and edge in black and glue to the middle.
This one I started with distress ink for the start of the ATCoin.  Stamp the doddle circle for the background. Then stamp Happy Cat on ATCoin. On scrap white cardstock stamp Happy Cat and color with Copic markers. Cut out and add to ATCoin. Edge with black ink and add it to the middle.

For the backs of all the ATCoins I used pattern paper that matched the colors on the front.

Go Out

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!
Cathy here with a postcard for you.
More that 2 legs is the challenge.

I started off making this postcard with a technique. It is from Wendy Vecchi. She calls them Archival ink backgrounds. Here is a link to watch her video on it.
This is how I did it. Take Archival ink smoosh it on a craft mat. I took 3 colors. A gray, tan(brown) and a teal . Next you spray 91% isopropyl alcohol on them. Then you take you paper and put it in the ink. The great thing is the paper does not warp.

Please if you do this PLEASE do it in a ventilated area.

The alcohol dries fast. So the next step I did was pick out a stencil and used some of the gray ink and added it to my background. Then I had a scrap of pattern paper on the table and I added that to the postcard in the corner.
Then I stamped the Happy Cat stamp on tissue paper.  I did that because at the time I didn't have a clue where I was going with this postcard.
Anyway I glued the stamped image on to the postcard with matte gel.  As that was drying I went through my word stickers and found this saying. I cut and added it to the postcard and I outlined it with black marker.
Then I was looking at it and I felt it still needed something so I grabbed my  mini crown stamp and stamped it on top of the cats head because you all know it is always better with a crown.
Then last I took the teal ink and I stamped  Corner Swirl around the postcard.
Please link up your artwork here.
Don't forget we also have a Facebook group where you can also share you love of Lost Coast and Carmen's Veranda stamps.
