#180 In the deep mid winter challenge.

 Its a lovely challenge, love the winter theme.

I hope you will join the lost coast designs challenge.

You have a chance to win stamps.

And let's face it, who wouldn't want that.

Now the step by step of this winter landscape.

What I used for this card.

LCD Grunge tree large

(used only the tree)

LCD Cityscape large.

LCD Lycaonia

Moon face.

 Stazon 

Midnight Blue.

Jet Black

Saddle brown

Distressink,

Dusty concord

Musterd seed

Chipped sapphire

Stormy sky

Tumbled glass 

Distress oxide,

Weathered wood

White gelpen.

Markers or color pencils.

I started with 3 strips of paper that were torn off.

Sponge along the paper edges with the Distress Oxide Wethered wood.

This way you can make beautiful snow edges.

I also use these strips as masks when I stamp the cityscape.

I stamped it with stazon midnight blue.

Now choose a place where the moon should be and

use Distress ink Musterd seed to make a yellow spot slightly larger than the moon stamp.

Stamp the moon with the Stazon Saddle brown.

Now we are going to create the sky with ink blenders.

For this we take different colors and build up, from light to dark, as shown on the card.

I used these distress ink colors for this

Dusty concord, Chipped sapphire, Stormy sky, Tumbled glass.

Well, because I only thought about using the Lycaonia stamp at this point, I stamped her on a thin paper, colored her in and glued her on later.

But before I glued her on I first stamped her on the card so I knew exactly where to place her.

Stamped the trees with Stazon black.

Now finish with the white gel pen. Make stars in the sky and snow on the tree branches.

In the Deep Midwinter: Lycaonia

Hello everyone! Our 180th challenge already! In the Deep Midwinter will run all month, so plenty time for you to participate! :-) 

As an autumn- and winter lover I loved to create this card!

On an alcohol inked background (blue and purple) I stamped Lycaonia with black StazOn ink. With a white marker and a white gel pen I coloured the image here and there and I drew some snowy trees and stars. I sponged the edges black.

#143 Strong woman challenge

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello everyone, Riet here.

Today a card for the challenge with the subject "strong women".

I have chosen the Lycaonia stamp, 

I think it is a real strong woman as she sits there between her wolves.

For the background I used the grunge tree stamp.

The text is by Carmens Veranda, there you will find the funniest and most beautiful texts and sayings.

What else did I use:

Smooth cardboard.

Clear embossing powder.

Spray ink in turquoise.

Pencils or markers for coloring.

Versamark.

Stazon black.

Clear embossing powder.

How did I make it.

I first stamped the Grunge tree with Versamark.

And sprinkled with the embossing powder.

Melted the embossing powder with the heat tool.

When the card has cooled down, spray the spray ink on it.

Do the same with the card with the text.

Now set it aside and let it air dry.

Continue with the Lycaonia stamp.

Stamp with stazon black on a thin paper and color it.

Cut out the stamp.

The map is now dry and we will continue with this.

Take a sheet of paper and place it on the card and text card.

Use a warm iron to iron off the embossing powder.

But if you like it better with the embossing powder, you can also skip this step.

Now glue the Lycaonia image on the card.

Assemble the card further as in the example, or according to your own idea.

The challenge will run until May 15th.

#133, its a wrap. A gift bottle of wine.

Hi there, Riet here.  I love this challenge!

It's something different than making a card.

I thought long and hard about this project, and thought it would be fun to wrap a wine bottle!

But I didn't want to do it the traditional way.....

I used the Labels set and the beautiful Lycaonia stamp,

and Pieces of Architecture.

So I changed the label with the nice label set stamp.

I left the original label on the bottle and sponged the edges with distress ink Walnut Stain.

I stamped the wine label stamp with micro glaze then sponged the label with distress ink Dusty Concord.

I sponged the outside of the label with distress ink Chipped sapphire. 

I also did this with the bow and a stamp from the pieces

of architecture set.

The bow is a die cut.

And now the top of the bottle.

Take a strip of paper that fits easily on the bottle.

Make the strip 8 cm wide.

I made a drawing of the model.

Note that the bottom strip is folded forward.

In this way it is a kind of pocket into which a tag will be inserted later.

Sponge it like the label and bow.

Now you make a tag that fits in the bag and sticks out slightly above it.

Make some dots and stars with a white gel pen.

With a stencil I wrote the Merry Christmas on it.

Now stamp the Lycaonia stamp with black waterproof ink.

I coloured this stamp with pencils, but you can decide for yourself with which you colour.

Glue her on the front edge of the bottle band.

Now put the band with the tag in it around the bottle neck, 

see how tight it has to be so that the tag does not bend too much.

Glue the two ends together.

Assemble the bow and glue it just below the Lycaonia stamp.

 And you're done.

Winter blues: Merry Christmas!

I think blue is the perfect color for Winter/Christmas! And so is our Winter Blues challenge! I made this card onto a glossy card, I started with an alcohol ink background and using black StazOn ink,  I stamped Lycaonia, the text (party words) and I stamped the Music border 4 times at the edges. I highlighted  the image here and there using white Color Box ink and a q-tip. I finished with the white, yellow and blue gel pen for some accents.

Cathy here with a card for I Am Woman challenge.

 I started out with a white Copic friendly cardstock and stamped Lycaonia with black ink.
Then I colored with Copic markers.

I also colored the background with Copic markers and took the colorless blender and made "snowflakes" with it for the sky.

Next I added a saying and layered my panel on black cardstock, then a blue card base.

An easy coloring and layering card.
