S is for Snarky Sentiments!

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Good morning and a very happy Monday! It's Sue here with my card for our fun 'S is for..' challenge. Isn't it strange how your mind goes blank when you're given a specific letter to work with, but I finally came up with Snarky Sentiments (my favourite kind!)

I actually knew just how I wanted my card to look (which is very rare for me - I usually just wing it as I go along). So, to start with I just laid it all out, then took this photo so that I could put everything in the right place on my stamping platform.

And it worked, woo-hoo! I'd stamped it in red, but then decided that I would prefer it all in black. Luckily I'd left all the stamps in place so I just cut another piece of card the same size and stamped again.

Look at this face, what's not to love. He may not be a hairless cat, but he doesn't mind pretending to be!

This is his sentiment, it always reminds me of Mrs Whiskerton, the hairless cat that Rachel had in Friends.

These are my fun stamps Enervy is from a range of Katzelkraft stamps that are sold through Lost Coast Designs. All of the sentiments are by Carmen's Veranda.

I hope you like my card (I definitely do 'cos it's a 'man' card made for the box!)

You have until the 14th to decide what your 'Something Beginning With S' is going to be, then just link up for the chance to win some Lost Coast dollars.

Take care, and have a very happy week whatever you are doing x

The Cutest Of Critters

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Good morning and a very happy Saturday. It's Sue here with a trio of very cute critters!

I'm not normally one for 'cute' stamps, but these mice are just so sweet, and I reckon that with the right sentiment they will have real attitude!

I started by cutting my Rolodex cards onto supersmooth card and stamping my mice in brown. It's quite unusual for me to make one layer projects, but that is what I wanted for my meeces.

Then I added the sentiments where I could. Some of them are too big to be added whole so will be stamped and chopped up later. No mice will be hurt, I promise.

The mice have been coloured with alcohol markers. I knew that I wanted to put a watercolour wash over the top, so I heat embossed the sentiments.

I've just added some colour by inking up a stencil, spraying with water, and laying on the page.

They can definitely smell cake!

She's my favourite. I can just imagine her with a rolling pin in her hand if Mr Mouse comes home late from the mousy pub! I know there's a bit of mousy stereotyping there but I'm very old school lol.

You still have a full week to join in with our challenge and show us your critters. They can be as cute or as badass as you like, they just need to be stamped!

Take care, have a very happy weekend, and thanks so much for looking xx
