31 Days of Halloween Day 12

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi, Darlene here with my scary halloween card just wanting to burst out at you !!!!

First I want to say that this is one of our older stamps that sadly is no longer
available.  But thought some of you will have it and maybe wonder what to do with it

Well this was a fun make

Used some halloween paper I had laying around and right about centre I tore and pulled back
the paper to make this.  Only want to take it as far as the image (no white space)

Layered the image, after I coloured in the eyes and nails.  in behind, then layered onto black cardstock with distressed edges.

Wrapped a bit of  string around to that it almost looked like the edges had cat hair caught !!!

You can definitely do this with any stamp !!

Now its your chance to win - enter the Halloween Challenge

Be sure to enter your spooky make into our challenge this month
and maybe win !!

31 Days of Halloween Day 11

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Greetings! You've got Kathi here to share a card with you using the White Cat Rubber Stamp by Carmen's Veranda and the Large Perspective Grid Background Rubber Stamp by Lost Coast Designs.

Tuxedo Black Memento Ink was used to stamp the White Cat onto white cardstock. He was fussy-cut and colored with Copic markers to become a devilish black cat.  The fussy-cut image was edged with a black marker. Slits were cut above and below his tail so that the colored pitchfork die-cut could be slipped under his tail and over his paws. He was set aside while a background was created for him.

Memento Ink was used to stamp the Large Perspective Grid Background Rubber Stamp onto a white cardstock. Copic markers were used to transform the grid into a floor. The panel was fussy-cut and edged with a black marker.

White cardstock was inked with Sand Dune VersaFine Clair Ink and heat set. The same ink was brushed over a stencil to create a subtle tone-on-tone wallpaper background.

The  Large Perspective Grid was adhered to the bottom of the stenciled background, which was then trimmed and edged with a red marker.

The devilish White Cat was adhered to the background as shown.

"Something Wicked" was cut from a sheet of Halloween Remnant Rubs, applied to a vellum thought bubble, which was then adhered to the background panel.

Red cardstock was cut with dies that spell out "happy halloween", then adhered to the background panel as shown.

The background panel was adhered to a white speckled kraft A6 card.

I've been having such fun making Halloween cards for the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity's 31 Days of Halloween Challenge and hope to see you play along with us!

Thanks for visiting today!

31 Days of Halloween, day 10

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Today I made a trick or treat basket.
Here is the description, and maybe you like to join the challenge on

You can find patterns for such baskets on the internet.
I used a box that had blueberries in it.

What you need to make the basket.
Black water-resistant ink
White ink pad
Halloween design paper.
Black sturdy paper, I used 200 grams.
Colorpencils
White gel pen
Red posca marker
Letters to make the trick and treat words
Halloween embellishments

I started by tracing the container on black paper and cutting it out.

I covered it with Halloween paper but left the front and back free.

I then thought it was a bit bare and decided to stamp the spiderweb background.
In hindsight I would have preferred to do that with white embossing powder.
That's for another time.

Stamp and color Frank and his bride and color them.

Cut them out and glue them onto the basket.

Embellish the basket however you like.
Don't forget to put the Trick or Treat on it.
That's so much fun.

Now isn't this a fun Trick or treat basket?
And so easy to make.
Would you also like to win those beautiful high quality rubber stamps?
It runs the entire month of October.
I'm curious to see what you make.

31 Days of Halloween Day 9

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello! Aimee here. Ever since I was a little kid, I've LOVED making Halloween artwork. I have a memory of being in First Grade (age 7) and drawing a haunted house with white crayon on white paper, then using black watercolor to wash over the paper to reveal the creepy house. How fun is it that as adults we can still color spooky scenes?
This card uses the Lost Coast Designs Dancing Skeletons, Mother Goose People and Brush Strokes stamps. Follow along with these photos to see how I made this card:
You'll have to check out the amazing selection of Halloween stamps in the Lost Coast Designs Catalogue. It wouldn't be October without a Halloween Challenge! Submit your creation to the Lost Coast Portal To Creativity for your chance to win a prize.

Hello Portal Peeps!   Gail here, flying in with some inspiration for the 31 Days of Halloween challenge.  I've made a scene with Lost Coast Designs Witch 2 and Yoga Cat 10
I stamped the background with Lost Coast Designs Pieces of Calligraphy and Window using grey ink.  I stamped the Large Circle Shadow Frame with yellow and orange distress ink and then gave the background a watercolour wash with blue distress inks.  I stamped Witch 2, Yoga Cat 10 and Carmen's Veranda Witches Go Riding sentiment on white card, fussy cut, added some colour to the witch and added them to the panel.  Yoga cat lost her legs so she could peer over the top of the sentiment.

31 Days of Halloween Day 5

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!!   Gail here today with some inspiration for the most bootastic time of the year and our 31 Days of Halloween celebration.  October is also breast cancer month so I've gone pink with my make.   I have upgraded TaDa Mouse to rat status and he's running through the pink ethereal forest brandishing clown hand puppets!!  Coulrophobes beware.........

I started by stamping Carmen's Veranda Kukla and Ollie on white shrink plastic.  I added some red promarker colours, fussy cut them and shrank them.  Here you can see the size difference between the unshrunk and the shrunken versions.

I stamped a panel of white card with Lost Coast Designs Trees Background using Cactus pink ink and gave it a pink watercolour wash.  I stamped Lost Coast Designs TaDa Mouse on white card, added some promarker colour and fussy cut.  I cut straight through his hands to extend his arms a bit and added the two shrink plastic puppets and a few die cut bats.

Submit your entries to the linky party by 23.59 PST on the 31st and don't forget to follow us so you don't miss anything!  The team will be posting more inspiration throughout the month so check back and join the fun.

31 Days of Halloween: Day 4

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Greetings! It's Kathi here on Day Four of the 31 Days of Halloween Challenge to share slightly scary card with you. My card was created with the Clown with Balloon Rubber Stamp by Lost Coast Designs and the Medium Keyhole Rubber Stamp from Carmen's Veranda

The Medium Keyhole stamp was stamped twice — once onto white cardstock and once onto repositionable sticker paper. The sticker paper version was cut on the inner outline of the Keyhole and placed over its cardstock counterpart to mask the outside of the keyhole while keeping the center open.

A clouds stencil created by a friend was placed towards the top of the opening of the Keyhole. Stormy Sky and Dusty Concord Distress inks were sponged over the stencil onto the cardstock. The stencil was moved downward and shifted, then the same inks were sponged over the stencil. This process was repeated until the opening in the Keyhole was filled with a stormy cloudy sky.

The Time Tunnel Stencil was placed over the opening of the Keyhole and London Fog Memento Ink was sponged heavily in the center of the tunnel and lighter as the tunnel went outwards.

The repositionable sticker mask was removed. Copic markers were used to color the outside of the Keyhole to look like brass. When that was done, the keyhole was fussy-cut and edged with a dark marker. Red alphabet rub-ons were used to add a sentiment to the bottom of the opening of the Keyhole.

The Clown with Balloon stamp was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink, fussy-cut, colored with Copic markers, fussy-cut, and edged with a black pen. I wanted more balloons, so the corner of the the Clown with Balloon stamp was inked with Memento ink, stamped several times, fussy-cut, and colored with Copic markers. A white gel pen was used to add highlights to all the balloons. The colored Clown and balloons were set aside.

Lightning Black Brilliance ink, a brassy looking ink, was used to ink a piece of mixed media cardstock to look like an escutcheon. The panel was trimmed, edged with Nocturne VersaFine Clair ink, and heat set. Halloween Idea-ology Rub-ons were used to add sentiments to the upper left of the panel.

A 5" x 7" panel of light grey cardstock was embossed with a wood-grain embossing folder, adhered to a 5" x 7" light grey card, and edged with Nocturne VersaFine Clair ink.

The Clown with Balloon and the extra balloons were adhered to the Keyhole as shown. The Keyhole was then adhered to the brass escutcheon and the wood paneled card.

Hi everyone, Darlene here with my first make of the month with the Halloween theme!!!
Everything haunted and scary this month bbbwwwhhhahahaha

I used the Persian Skull stamp for this one.

So, I stamped the image on cardstock, masked the head and did some black paint flecks/splatters.

Then on a piece of cheesecloth I stamped the image again.
carefully laid it over the original image and glued down lightly.

Used some black ink around the edges.
layered the image onto black cardstock - distressed the edges.

A few butterflies and flowers, with a touch of black sickles in the middles.
((The wording I printed out on the computer))

31 Days of Halloween Day 2

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Cathy here with a witchy panel for you.
Stamp used:

I started off by stamping Gnome witch on broom and coloring her with copic markers. I then cut her out and added some glitter pens to it.
I found this panel from a 12x12 paper pad that I have, and I thought it would go great with Gnome witch on broom. I glued her in place.
Lastly, I die cut some ghosts from whit cardstock and added them to the bottom. I also cut out some clouds but they didn't look right as clouds, so I made them into smoke trail from her broom.

31 Days of Halloween Day 1

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi there, Riet here.
Its the start of the 31 Days of Halloween challenge at Lost Coast designs/Carmen's Veranda stamps.
Love, Love , Love Halloween theme crafts.
And it's a Halloween challenge the whole month.
So here is my tag for Halloween.

I used:

Distress ink,
Old paper
Pumice stone
Iced spruce
Dusty concord
Versafine onyx black
White gellpen
Water resistent fineliner
Blue, grey and brown colorpencils
Small circkle punch
Perfect resist
Tag die

How to make the tag.
Take a small amount of perfect resist and a sponge. Dab your sponge in the resist liquid and apply it to the spider web stamp. Make a good print in one go. Let it dry very well.

Now sponge the distress ink Old paper,
Pumice stone, and
Iced spruce onto the card.
let it dry well.

Take a piece of white paper and stamp the Checkerboard border on it.
Sponge them purple with the distress ink dusty concord.
Die cut the tag and glue the checkerboard borders on it.

Stamp the raven with the black versafine.

If you didn't hit all the spots properly, you can touch it up with the fineliner.

Color the raven and the branch he is sitting on.
And stamp the words in black.
Because I thought the tag on the right side was a bit bare,
I also stamped the grunge tree here.
Mat the tag with black cardboard.
With a punch I make a ring of black cardboard, glue it on and make a hole in it.
You can now put a cord or string in there.

Now its your turn.
Make something with a Halloween or day of the dead theme.
Don't forget to use some stamps.
Please read the rules, to avoid disappointment.

Good luck and till next time.
