Spring Has Spring - Happy Spring Home Decor

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Roni here...today I have a fun project inspired by this fun giant size bottle cap from the Dollar Tree.
Do you ever just see something and know you've got to have it because it will make a perfect project starter? I KNEW that this bottle cap would make the perfect so I bought it on the spot.

It's metal so I started off by adding a layer of color with AI...a couple shades of green for the grass and blues for the sky.  I then stamped the Daisy Flourish over the AI using VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink.  It took a while to dry but it really looks so nice IRL.  I stamped several extra daisies onto yellow and pink cardstock and fussy cut them to add later.

Next I stamped the bunny onto a vintage book page and the duck on yellow cardstock (Duck & Bunny).  I used colored pencils to add some shading to each of the little guys then cut them out.  These were mounted onto the bottle cap using double stick foam to pop them off the surface.

I then adhered the sticker sentiments and glued the flowers down here and there.  I used Diamond Painting drills for the centers of each of the flowers.  I then added a bit of twine to hang it and called it done!

I hope you're inspired to join in on the fun....

Tweet This: Ducks In A Row

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi from Laurie with a fun card for our newest challenge:  Tweet This.  Think all things bird related for this one.  This card uses the Doodle Circles background stamp and the Vertical Party Hats border stamp from Lost Coast Designs.  The duck stamp from the Duck and Bunny set and the clear stamp, Ducks In A Row, are both from Carmen's Veranda.
The background for this started with a piece of scrapbook paper.  Using the Doodle Circles stamp, I randomly stamped some pink and yellow Oxide Distress Inks onto the paper.  I also edged the paper with the yellow ink and used a darker shade of pink ink to "splatter" the paper as well.

The duck was stamped with black ink onto white card stock and colored with Copic Sketch markers, then fussy cut out.  The hat was stamped onto pink card stock, cut out, and affixed atop the duck's head.  I then attached the duck to the left side of the card front with foam tape for dimension.  The sentiment was stamped onto white card stock with black ink and layered with a piece of pink card stock.  This was then attached as shown to the right side of the card front.  Done and dusted!

Let's see what fun creations you can make for this newest "birdie" challenge!  Be sure to feature rubber stamping in your projects, and you just might win some free stamps from Carmen's Veranda and Lost Coast Designs!

Question of the day....Ducks or Squirrels???

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Roni here and today I have a creation for our newest challenge #102 - Off the Edge. I decided to use this darling little duck from the Duck & Bunny set and the clear sentiment stamp called Ducks in a Row both from Carmen's Veranda.

I started off by stamping the purple duck on the white panel then once onto scrap paper. I fussy cut the second image to use as a mask to use when stamping the remaining ducks.  I used the mask to cover the purple duck while I stamped the blue duck...I continued stamping in this fashion by covering the previously stamped duck with the mask while stamping the next duck in the row.

After all the ducks had been stamped I colored each with coordinating colors. I finished them off with a bit of black and white paint pen work.   The sentiment was stamped on vellum then affixed to the white card panel.  This panel was then mounted on a teal card base.

And yes, this is how I feel some days - LOL!!

I hope you join in the fun and share your card for the Off the Edge Challenge!!
