Valentine's tickets

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello, Cathy here with 2 Valentine's tickets.

Stamps Used:

I started off by cutting a piece of heavy weight Krat cardstock in half. Mine was a half of a top folding A2 card base. So, half of that. I then punched the corners to make it look like a ticket.
Next, I stamped the circles from the Brush strokes with pink distress oxide ink on both. I then stamped Travel stuff set and ATC misc. 6 set with the new distress oxide ink color. After that was done I edged them both with walnut distress ink and then scorched timber distress oxide ink and spritzed some water on it.
I then took the 1 and 4 from the License plate alpha and stamped them in the scorched timber distress oxide ink and cut out. Lasted, I went through my stash and got some bits to add to the tickets. For the finishing touch I added white paint splatter.

Anything Goes: Mannequins

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi again from Laurie with another project for our "Anything Goes" challenge going on through the end of January here on the Portal.  For this one, I used the Mannequin's Stamp Set from Lost Coast Designs.

I started by stamping my mannequins onto white card stock with black ink.  I then restamped them using turquoise ink onto white card stock and then cut out the corset from each one.  I glued the corsets onto each of the corresponding mannequins and finished them off with some rhinestones.  The bodies of the mannequins were colored with flesh colored Copic Sketch Markers.  I edged the panel with a turquoise marker, then layered the front panel to a gel print featuring predominantly turquoise paints.

Please be sure to get your projects posted on the Portal before the end of January for a chance to win some free stamps from Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda!

#181 Anything goes challenge.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello stampers and crafters, Riet here.
The "Anything goes" challenge is still running until the end of the month.
Join us so you can win prizes.

Now about the card.
I used these stamps:

Distress oxide:car
Barn door
Musterd seed
Spiced marmelade
Chipped sapphire,
Peacock feathers.
Any water resistend black inkpad.
White pasca or gellpen.
Color pencils, I used derwent colorsoft.

How the card is made:
I started by sponging the colors Barn door,
Musterd seed and
Spiced marmelade onto the card.

I made a stamp impression with the crackle background stamp that I sprayed some water on.

This is a simple technique but with a very nice result.

We now continue with the stamp of the Carmen dog.
We first make a mask from that.

Take a piece of white paper that is slightly larger than the dog.
Stamp the dog with waterproof ink.
Stick the mask on and then sponge the paper with Peacock feathers.
Let it dry.

Leave the mask on.
Stamp with chipped sapphire and the heart and curls border,
left and right along the dog.
Let everything dry thoroughly before removing the mask.

Color with pencils or markers the dog.

Make white dots in the curls with the posca or white gellpen.

Stamp the saying with peacock feathers.
Put white dots with the posca or gellpen.

Matt the card with turquoise and purple.
And glue the carmen dog on the top.

Well this was fun to do and a very cheerful card.
There is still more than a week to participate in the "Anything goes" challenge,
If you participate you have a chance to win stamps.
You can even participate with stamps from other companies.
Please read the rules first, as they have recently changed.
Have a great day.

#181 - Anything Goes - Pretend to be Normal

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

I hope you're having fun with our current monthly challenge - #181 - Anything Goes!

Today I have a card made using my favorite colors...green and blue.

I wanted to make a bright card using lots of color so I stamped each image using a stamping tool adding more and more color each time I stamped the image. The background image - Pondscum - was stamped using 4 shades of VersaFine Clair green ink while the main image from the Phrenology Set in shades of blue.  I stamped the sentiment - Pretend to be normal -  on a piece of cardstock that I colored with water color crayons.

Take a Break

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!   Gail here today.
I was just looking through my stamps for a little inspiration and spotted this fun Lost Coast Designs Do Not Disturb Gnome.   It made me think about how hard santa has worked and that he must be sleeping for a month!!!

For the backgound I stamped Lost Coast Designs Large Shrubbery twice with two shades of green ink and a slight vertical offset between the two impressions.  I smudged twisted citron distress ink on a scrap of torn white card and spritzed with some water.  The gnome was stamped, coloured and fussy cut.

Grab you stamps and join the Anything Goes challenge.  Our challenges are now monthly so you have all month to join the fun.  Don't forget to check the updated rules tab at the top of the page.

Anything Goes: Coat Lady

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Welcome back to all - it's Laurie here again with another project for our January Challenge:  Anything Goes.  For this one, I made a tag and used the Coat Lady stamp, the Pieces of Calligraphy stamp set, both from Lost Coast Designs.  The sentiment is from Carmen's Veranda
To make my tag cover, I stamped each of the calligraphy piece stamps in the set onto a copy of a master board collage I had made, then cut them out and inked the edges with Distress Vintage Photo ink.  I then created a collage using those pieces on the front of my tag, fitting them to cover the tag.  I edged that entire tag with the same Distress Ink.

My Coat Lady was stamped with black ink onto white paper and fussy cut out.  I added a bit of color to her face with Copic Sketch markers and affixed her to the left side of the tag with foam tape.

The sentiment was stamped onto a white square with black ink and edged with black marker.  I fastened it to the card front as shown and put a piece of foam tape under the right side so it would sit flat on the card front.

We are excited to see the Anything Goes projects you are making this month and hope that YOU will be the lucky winner of some free stamps!

Purple Postcard

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Goodmorning all, Cathy here with a postcard for you.

Stamps Used:

I started out with a watercolor postcard. I stamped a corner(ish) stamp from the Pieces of Architecture and I heat embossed it with white embossing power.
Next, I used some Lindy's magical shaker pigment powers. I didn't realize they had shimmer in them. Where the embossed areas are the powers didn't go.
I then took Daisy FlourishPieces of Architecture, and Brush stokes and stamped them around the sides of the postcard in purple distress ink.
After that I stamped a stamp from Fortune men set in black ink to stand out. Lastly, I added some black paint splatter to the whole thing.

Come join our new month-long challenge over on the blog.

#181 Anything goes challenge, Frida Kahlo tag.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Dear readers, first of all I would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year.
I wish prosperity and happiness and creativity for each of you.
And of course, most importantly, good health.

The challenge has moved from a bi-weekly to a one-month challenge.
This way everyone has a little more time to make something and participate.
Now my tag for the new challenge from Lost Coast Designs.
Here is the step by step explanation.

Materials I used:

Versa magic,
Purple Hydrangea
Distress Oxide,
chipped sapphire
Distress ink,
chipped sapphire
faded jeans
speckled egg
dusty concord
Die for a window frame
White acrylic paint to splatter.
Distress micro glaze.

I started to color the tag with Speckled egg.

I made a print on the right side of the tag with the daisy floral and micro glaze.

I sponged the right half of the tag with Faded jeans and chipped sapphire.

I made some spots on the left half of the tag with Dusty Concord.

With the versa magic and the ledger stamp,
I made a print over the left side of the tag.
let it dry.

In the meantime,
I cut out a frame with a piece of paper that I colored with Speckled egg.

I darkened the openings in the die with Dusty Concord.

I stamped the text from Carmens Veranda stamps and a border from the
brush strokes sheet with Distress oxide chipped sapphire.
Did the same with the roses stamp.

Now for the portrait of Frida Kahlo.
This is a nice example of how you can also use part of a stamp.
I only used her head and it fit perfectly in the frame.

I made some splatters on the tag with the white paint.
The mat of the tag is made of lilac paper.
The edges are sponged with chipped sapphire.
Now just attach the frame with Frida on it and add some pearls for decoration.
Punch a hole and put a piece of ribbon through it.
I hope you enjoyed it and hope to see your work on the challenge blog.
Enter the challenge for a chance to win new rubber stamps.

Precious Little Things

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps.  Gail here today with some inspiration for the current Anything Goes challenge.   Hope the new year is going well for you.  I included a few of the newer Carmen's Veranda sentiment in my Christmas goodies.  This one is just delightful and I think it makes a perfect card for new love, or old love renewed.....
Unusual colours for love maybe, but then we like the quirky and unusual her at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity.  I've used my easy formula of background stamp, image and sentiment.
I stamped Lost Coast Designs Concentric Circles Background on black card using white ink.  The quirky little fellow is Lost Coast Designs CDRoly Jester stamped with blue ink on white card and fussy cut.  Then I added the Carmen's Veranda Butterfly Reminder sentiment.

Grab you stamps and join the Anything Goes challenge.  Our challenges are now monthly so you have all month to join the fun.  Don't forget to check the updated rules tab at the top of the page.

Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz
