Good morning, Cathy here with a Christmas ID card for you.

Stamps Used:

I made the background by starting off with some cream color cardstock and using 2 different distress inks on it. I then edged it in a dark brown distress ink.
I found a fun Xmas image I wanted to use for the photo for the ID card. I then stamped the ID part from the Travel stuff set with black ink and then I stamped some of the tickets from that set in brown ink and cut out.
I then stamped a snowflake form small snowflake set on the ID card and on the ticket. Lastly, I added some tape and some ephemera.

#199 Christmas in July challenge.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi stampers, Riet here.
If you have a lot of cards to make for Christmas, this is a nice, quick card to make.
You can add some glitter or sequins yourself.

I used:

Color pencils or markers.
Black waterproof inkpad.
Versa Magic, Red magic,
Tea leaves and Sage.
Square or postage die.

I started with Versa Magic Tea Leaves, stamping the christmas tree.

Then the left half with the postcard background stamp and VM sage.

While the background dries, I stamped the little Santa gnome.
I colored him with Derwent Chromaflow pencils.

Using a blender brush, I colored the edges with VM Tea Leaves.

With the VM Red Magic I stamped Merry Christmas.

Mat the card with red and green,
and stick the square with the Gnome on with 3D foam tape.
And your done.

Now, wasn't that a fun and quick card?
Are you still participating in the challenge?
There's a great prize to be won.
The challenge runs until the end of the month, so there's still time to enter.

#199 Christmas in july.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi, its Riet here with a new "how to make this card".

Hi there, This white christmas tree is made with embossing powder.
And this is how I made the card.

I used:

Clear Embossing powder
Salt rocks.
Watercolorpaint 4 colors of green.
Black stamping pad.
Green stampingpad.

1. Color with the light green paint the paper for the words.

Stamp de snowflakes with green.
And stamp Merry Christmas in black over the snowflakes.

Stamp with Embossing ink the christmas tree and heat set it.

Spray the paper wet and color it with the 3 colors of watercolorpaint.
Sprinkle the salt rocks on the paint and let it dry.

When dry, remove the salt.
With a clean paper you iron the embossingpowder

Now tear the edges and mat the card on a black background.

The challenge last the whole month.
So come and join, you can win new rubber stamps.
Please read the rules first.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Goodmorning, Cathy here with a fun card for you today.

                                                                             Stamps Used:
                                                                 gnome Santa with toys

I started out with a red piece of paper and stamped the argyle background on it with red ink.

I then stamped the gnome on a separate piece of white cardstock and colored it in with copic markers.

After that I got a shimmering white cardstock and cut it down so I could tear it with the stamped red cardstock. I glued the white piece under the red piece and then I added it to a green card base. Lastly, I added the saying and there is my card.

Come join the Christmas in July challenge.

#187 Christmas in July challenge.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi there cardmakers and stampers.
Riet here with a new tutorial for you.
Today is my last card for the Christmas in July challenge.
I'll tell you how I made it.

Materials:
LCD mouse stamp,
(Not yet in the webshop)

Stencil Craftemotions
xmas florals.
Blue/green bister.
Distressink,
Broken china,
Speckled egg,
Evergreen bough,
Twisted citron,
Barn door, for santa's hat.
White gellpen
Black fineliner
Stazon dove grey and Jet Black
Red glitter
Black inkpad.
Light grey marker.
Color pencils for the mouse.
Glue pen.

Lets start making the background.

I started with the 3 Distressinks
Broken china, Speckled egg and Evergreen bough,
I distributed the colors over the paper with sponges.

I sprayed it with plenty of water and blotted it with paper towel.
It lightened it up a bit.

Made it wet again and sprinkled some bister here and there.
Blot it again with the paper towel.

Now it looks like the photo,
but when I turned the paper over I saw that the ink and bister had leaked through.
And it was beautiful too.

So I decided to make the back the front of the card.
But that is of course up to you to decide which side you like better.

Stamp the mouse with Stazon dove gray in the background and on a thin paper.
Also do this with the Santa hat.
Color the mouse and Santa hat on the loose paper.

Stamp the words around the mouse with black Stazon.
The Misk Words sheet contains a lot of words related to Christmas.
So I stamped some of them on the card.

We now apply the holly leaves to the card with the stencil
and the distress ink Evergreen bough and twisted citron and an ink blender.

Use the fineliner to scribble some lines around the words.
Color the mouse and Santa hat and glue them to the card.
Use the gray marker to create some shadows under the words and around the mouse.

I punch some holes of different sizes in a piece of mica sheet,
I use this for the red berries.

I spunge it to the paper with distressink barn door.
Then I went over it with the glue pen and sprinkle it with the red glitter.

And that's it for this month's challenge.
There is still time to participate until the last day of July.
The winner will be announced on August 5.
Hope you'll join us and I wish you the goodluck.

Christmas bird

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Cathy here with a Christmas card. Of course I had to use Megan's Christmas bird.

Stamps Used:

I started by stamping Megan's Christmas bird on white cardstock and then I stamped one of the snowflakes from the Small snowflakes set around the edge. I colored the bird with copic markers and I then colored in the lights with glitter pens.
I layered it on some Christmas paper and that is my card.

#187 Christmas in July. Christmas baby angel.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!
Hello dear blog visitor, Riet here.
Christmas, before you know it, it's already here.
So you better start making your Christmas cards early.
And then you can participate in the challenge and perhaps become the winner.
You can even participate with stamps from other brands.
So that should work, right?

And now the tutorial for this card.
What I used:

Versafine onyx black
Distress oxyde Barn door and Lucky clover
Americana acrylic paint,
Yellow green
Bahama blue
Dessert turquoise
White acrylic paint or marker
Black fineliner
Color pencils
Black marker

I started by making a few backgrounds with the 3 colours of acrylic paint.
I did that with the brayer.
Roll out the colours until you are satisfied with the result.
If you don't have a brayer you can use a brush or sponge.

The brush strokes sheet shows the two edges I used.
I stamped the first one with the oxide barn door.
And the second one over it with the Versafine onyx black.

I make splashes with the white acrylic marker.
Set it aside to dry.

Stamp the baby and the angel wings with the versafine.
Colour with pencils or markers, whatever you like best.

Take a piece of background and stamp the text on it.
Use a thin fine liner to scribble an edge under the words.
Stamp on the right side the same as the border of the card.
Make a black border around it with a black marker.

Glue the baby angel and the text onto the card.
Use distress oxide lucky clover and a brush,
to create shadows around the baby angel.

Have you made Christmas cards yet?
Take part in the challenge and you could be this month's winner.
You don't even need to have Lost Coast Designs/Carmen's Veranda stamps to participate but we love it when you do!
Hope to see you in the challenge.
