Where Did You Get That Hat???

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!  Gail here today and the challenge for April is Where's My Hat?  We want to see your stamped anythings featuring headgear.  I had a look through my Lost Coast Designs stamps and found lots with hats!  Check out yesterday's challenge post and the fun makes from Cathy, Liesbeth and Darlene where they kicked off the challenge in amazing style.  Today I have used one of the images from Doodle Dolls 1 set, and I found she also featured on the Postage set, so I've made a slimline collage style birthday card.
I used archival ink in shades on blue and red and did some ink mixing on the stamps to give some variegated colours.  The background stamp is Lost Coast Designs PMC Circle Frame.  I used a die cut to make the oval frame and arranged the Postage stamps and Doodle Doll on it after I had stamped and fussy cut them.  I stamped the Happy Birthdays using Lost Coast Designs Party Words and die cut with a Waffle Flower die.
Hope you get time to join the Where's My Hat? fun.  We need at least 20 entries to award the prize so tell your friends and add your stamped hatty makes to the linky.
Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Abstract Elk

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!!   Gail here today.  I am loving all the Red, White and Blue on the blog and in the linky.  Doesn't it look awesome!!!  I decided to just get out some stamps today, ink them up and see where it led me.  I got out Lost Coast Designs lovely Shadow Frame stamps and decided to go abstract with some distress oxide inks.

I started by stamping the large rectangle Shadow Frame stamp with Candied Apple distress oxide ink and then the small circle Shadow Frame stamp with Salty Ocean distress oxide ink on white card
I grunged up the background by randomly stamping the Doodle Circles ATC stamp and PMC Circles stamp with blue ink using the stamps off the block so I could just do partial impressions.  Then I stamped Lost Coast Designs Medium Elk Skull with red ink directly on the card and then on a piece of white card.  I fussy cut the elk image and added it to the stamped panel.
You have until 23.59 PST on the 14th and don't forget to follow us so you don't miss anything!  The team will be posting more inspiration throughout the month so check back and join the Red, White and Blue fun.
Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Ride Em Cowboy

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!  Gail here today with some inspiration for our new Man Cave Challenge.  Masculine makes!  Love em??  Hate em??  Stay tuned for loads of awesome inspiration from the team.  Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda have some gorgeous masculine stamps.  Today I rounded up Carmen's Veranda Rocking Horse and made a card suitable for the little or large cowboys in our lives.
I used Carmen's Veranda Rocking Horse and Lost Coast Designs PMC Circle Frame and Party Words

I shared a card yesterday for the challenge start where I used stamp kissing with the PMC Circle Frame.  I had stamped the lifted ink off on a scrap of white card and I decided to use it today as a background panel for the Rocking Horse.

I trimmed the stamped circles panel and matted it on some thin brown card.  I stamped, coloured and fussy cut the Rocking Horse.  I mounted the circle panel and Rocking Horse on a white card base and stamped the Happy Birthday from the Party Words set.

We can't wait to see your Man Cave projects!  Join the fun for a chance to win.  You have until the end of the month to link up your stamped masculine makes.   Don't forget to drop in often for more wonderful inspiration from the team.

Gnome Post

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!  Gail here today.
I hope you are enjoying all the awesome inspiration for our Mail Art Challenge.
You have until close of play on the 14th to join the fun.
I decided to use one of Lost Coast Designs fabulous Gnomes and make a giant postage stamp!

This is ZZ Top Gnome 2.  I also used PMC Circle Frame Background and the number 2 from the License Plate Alphabet.

I started by cutting a piece of card with a postage stamp die, this one is from Sizzix.  In hindsight stamping first and die cutting afterwards would have given me more to hold onto......   I stamped the gnome using black archival ink, masked and stamped the 2 using blue archival ink.

I masked the 2, keeping the gnome mask in place too, and stamped PMC Circle Frame Background with green archival ink.  This is quite a large stamp and having a bit of extra card to hold onto would have been useful, but all's well that ends well........   I coloured the gnome with distress markers and gel pens and edged the panel with ink.  Then I die cut the next size up from green card and mounted my stamped panel.   These gnomes are quite big, so my postage stamp is 41/8ish x 31/8ish" (11 x 8.5cm), perfect as it is, or added to a base for a fun postcard.

Don't forget to join the Mail Art Challenge for a chance to win Lost Coast dollars..... anything related to snail mail that features real rubber or clear stamping works!

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a awesome day.  Hugz
