Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!!  Gail here today and it's all about the bling this fortnight.  I decided to break out some Wow sparkly embossing powder to use with Lost Coast Designs Tall Trees Background
I used Skylight embossing powder and it is very sparkly.  I stamped Carmen's Veranda Monkey Face, coloured him with marmalade distress ink and green gel pens, fussy cut and added him to the bottom of the card.  I stamped the Hot and Sexy Birthday sentiment on vellum and backed it with a piece of white card before I stuck it to the card.
Join the Bling It Up Challenge.  We want to see your stamped sparkly, blingy makes and don't forget to check out all the awesome design team projects.

Challenge #164 - Rock or Pop - Stay Weird!

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Roni here with a fun idea for the latest challenge - Rock or POP!

This was such a fun challenge and I knew I wanted to use the Monkey Face stamp from Carmen's Veranda because I could add googlie eyes!!!  These little gems add a great dimension and fun movement for a rocker card.

I created the card base by placing a plate along the bottom edge of a regular folded card base. I traced the rounded edge along the bottom and trimmed to create the "rocking" card.  It was then stamped with the Gears background stamp.

To create the rest of the card I started by stamping the Monkey Face on lavender cardstock with Versa Fine Clair Fantasia ink. It was fussy cut and I glued on the eyes.

Next I stamped the large feathery paint stroke from the Brush Stroke set of stamps using various shades of green. This was also fussy cut and used for "Leaves" for our monkey to peek out of.  I stamped the distressed straight brush stroke, also from the Brush Stroke set in blue to create the separating line.

I affixed the Monkey Face, leaves and blue line along the fold at the top of the rocker card. I then stamped the sentiment, trimmed it and affixed each word to the bottom of the rocker and outlined each word with black marker.

Hope you join in on the fun and create a card that rocks or has a pop out element.

Tropical: Monkey in the jungle

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi everyone, Liesbeth here with our final Tropical blogpost. There's still a bit of time for you to participate!

I used a paper napkin for the tropical background:

I stamped Loopy Background onto a piece of  white cardstock (13 x 13 cm) using black waterproof ink. After that I glued the upper layer of the napkin onto the card with gel medium and after drying I coloured the white areas with yellow and green watercolour paint. I stamped Carmens Verandas Monkey Face on the card with black and painted it with white gesso (or white acrylic paint) I also stamped the monkey onto tissue paper, tore it out, and glued it onto the card with gel medium. I dried it with a heat tool and watercolour painted it (brown). I cut some flowers and leaves from printed scrappaper and sticked them around the monkeys head.

Hope to see you next time!

Strangely Tropical

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!  Gail here today to hopefully inspire you to join our current challenge with some Off The Edge stamping.
I've used Carmen's Veranda Monkey Face.  He's usually quite off the edge so that made the challenge pretty easy.  I also added Carmen's Veranda Pineapple, for that truely tropical feel and lots of Lost Coast Designs Sketchy Rose stamp.
I stamped the monkey with brown archival and masked.  Then I stamped the pineapple, inking the fruit with yellow and the leaves with green archival ink.
I stamped the rose with pink archival ink, using 4 masks to allow me to fill up the background.
I used green gel pens for the monkey's eyes and used brush markers to add some scribbled colour to the flowers and pineapple.   I've also got a layered die cut in there, but I'm still trying to decide if I like it, so I'm not gonna say too much about it LOL.
Thanks for dropping by.  Join the Off The Edge fun for your chance to win Lost Coast dollars.  Hugz

Monkey See Monkey Do: Liars and Their Pants

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi to all from Laurie with a fun card for the "Monkey See, Monkey Do" challenge going on until the end of February, right here on the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity.

For this card, I used the Pants On Fire clear stamp from Carmen's Veranda,
the Cheesecloth background stamp from Lost Coast Designs, and the Monkey Face stamp from Carmen's Veranda.
I started with my background, taking a piece of scrapbook paper with just a little bit of brown and green color to it.  I heat embossed the Cheesecloth background stamp with clear embossing powder onto my background paper.  I then used some Distress Spray stains in shades of rust, brown, and green and sprayed these randomly over my paper.  I blotted up the excess and dried my page.

Next I stamped my Monkey Face onto white card stock and colored it with Copic Sketch markers. I stamped my sentiment onto white card stock with black ink and edged it with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  I positioned this at the bottom of my card then attached Mr.Monkey Face directly above this.  I layered my card front with a white panel, edged that with the same Distress Ink, and finished it off by added some Glossy Accents to the monkey's eyes.

I used Carmen's Veranda Monkey Face and Flying Monkey Background Lost Coast Designs Pondscum Background, Magic, and Window stamps.

I stamped the Pondscum Background on pale blue card with Sky Blue archival ink.
I stamped  Monkey Face and part of the Flying Monkey Background with black archival and masked off a semi circle.
I blended various yellow distress inks into the masked area to make the moon and used a black pen to make the big detailed flying monkey a silhouette.
I used gel pens for the monkey's eyes.  I stamped the Magic and Window with grey archival ink and gave the background a weak purple distress ink wash.

Spring Bunny

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello.  Gail here today.  The current challenge is Silhouettes so I inked up the beautiful Rabbit With Flowers and made a spring card.  Well, we can dream can't we......

I started by stamping the word spring using Lost Coast Designs License Plate Alphabet and Mowed Lawn distress ink on my white hammered card base.
Then I used Carmen's Veranda Monkey Face and the Mowed Lawn distress ink to make a grassy border.  Rotate your monkey to get realistic looking grass.
I stamped Rabbit With Flowers using black archival ink on white card and fussy cut.
I added the rabbit to the card then stamped it again and cut out three flowers, coloured them yellow and stuck them on.
https://lostcoastportaltocreativity.blogspot.com/2019/01/challenge-68-silhouettes.html

Hope you get the chance to stamp up a storm and join out Silhouette challenge.  Looking forward to seeing your makes.  The more players the bigger the prize so tell your friends and come and join the fun. Linky open until 5 to midnight on the 31st January.

The moment you realize....

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Ink Stained Roni here with a fun "No People" card to share with you!
I am so excited about this card because despite it having no people, this is my life in a nutshell - LOL!!

I knew the moment I saw this Monkey Face stamp I had to make something with it. Pair it with one of my favorite sayings - Not My Circus and I knew exactly what I wanted to do.

So I started off by stamping the monkey face at the bottom of the card panel then began writing this sentiment over and over on the background....  " That moment you realize this IS your circus and they are your monkeys."    Next I stamped the "Not my Circus" stamp over the panel multiple times. Finally I colored his face using Prismacolor colored pencils.  I'm just so tickled with how well he turned out.

Are you up for the challenge?
