Onward and Upward and 2 Ways to Win

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps.  Gail here today.

The end of 2020 is looming.  Let's hope all the crap gets left behind.  I have made a New Year card in shades of blue using Lost Coast Designs stamps.  I think this gnome is my favourite of the bunch!  If you haven't checked out the Lost Coast Designs Gnomes then hop over, cos they are so cute and awesome, and Linda is still offering 25% off your order!!!  What a way to start the new year with some of these dudes dropping into your mail box.

I used Lost Coast Designs Tall Trees Background, Profile Gnome, the sun from Sun and Moon and Misc. Words for the sentiment.   I stamped the Tall Trees background and sentiment using blue dye ink and the sun using black archival onto my card base.  I stamped the gnome on scrap of white card, fussy cut and coloured with Promarkers.  I stamped the sun on a scrap of yellow card, fussy cut and added it to the card.  Some iridescent glitter glue in the tree tops and done!!

Would you like a chance to win a $10 of Lost Coast Designs stamps???

The Winter Blues challenge is running until 31st December 23.59PST.
If the New Year party looses it's fizz then grab your stamps and join the fun.

Winter Blues: Snow Elf

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Happy Day after Christmas to all of you, and I hope that you were all able to find a way to celebrate Christmas this year safely and with much joy!

I have another card for this current Winter Blues Challenge using the Elf with Star stamp and the PLAY clear stamp, both from Carmen's Veranda.

I stamped my elf onto white card stock with black ink, cut him out, and colored him in various shades of blue with a bit of bright green accents.  I stamped my word PLAY on a scrap of white paper and cut it out, edging it in blue.

My card base is a simple piece of blue card stock.  Using molding paste, a pallet knife, and a swirling star stencil, I created a background of dimensional stars.  I affixed my elf atop with foam tape, added a silver "bell" to the end of his cap, and put a sparkly star at the end of his wand.  The word PLAY was attached bottom right with foam tape.  I layered this with a white panel and it's done!

You still have until the end of December to submit your projects using the Winter Blues theme, giving you  a chance to win some free stamps!  Hoping to see your creations there!

Winter blues: Merry Christmas!

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

I think blue is the perfect color for Winter/Christmas! And so is our Winter Blues challenge! I made this card onto a glossy card, I started with an alcohol ink background and using black StazOn ink,  I stamped Lycaonia, the text (party words) and I stamped the Music border 4 times at the edges. I highlighted  the image here and there using white Color Box ink and a q-tip. I finished with the white, yellow and blue gel pen for some accents.

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy creative and healthy 2021!!

2021 Here We Come!!

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello and welcome to the Winter Blues Challenge...still lots of time to play!

Time to say good bye 2020 and
Hello to 2021!!

Here's to a better year to come!

I created this card by applying assorted shades of blue Brusho Colour Crystals to a piece of cardstock. I then stamped and embossed both Large and Small Snowflakes over the card.  Next I stamped Pieces of Calligraphy over the snowflakes and wiping away the text from the embossed areas. The Heart from the ATC Doodles set of stamps was stamped on a piece of handmade paper and the excess paper torn away to create the feathered edges. This heart was then covered with glitter.  The sentiment from Party Words was stamped on a piece of scrap paper and affixed to the heart.

Today is my final post for Lost Coast Designs/Carmens Veranda. I wanted to thank you all for my wonderful stay here. Wishing you all the best in the remainder of 2020, in 2021 and for years to come!

Hope you join in this month long challenge!!

Lost Coast Designs Challenge #112 winter blues.

Hi there, Riet here with my last card in the blue series.

Blue is the color for winter cold.
I love the snow and the glisning off the snow.
So I attempted to bring that glisning in to the card.

For this card I used:
Megans christmas bird,
http://www.lost-coast-designs.com/catsandbirdsandmonkeysandskulls.html
Snowflake border,
http://www.lost-coast-designs.com/borders.html
A stencil for the background
A stencil for the christmas bells.
A stencil for the branches.
Stazon Midnight blue
Distressink shipped saphire
Panpastel light blue
Versamark clear
Dark blue embossingpowder
Nuvo aqua shimmer glitter gloss
Dark blue pencil.

I started off with the panpastel background.
Lay your stencil on the card and sponge with versamark.
Go over it with Panpastel.
(you can also do this with sponging ink)

Stamp Megans christmas bird in the richt bottom corner with Versamark.
Sprinkle the embossingpowder on and heat set it.

Now sponge the branches with the shipped saphire.
Do the same with the christmas bells.
Sponge some berrie and outline them with the pencil.

Now take the nuvo aqua shimmer and paint some shimmer on the berries and on the bird.

Matt with a white cardstock and stamp with the stazon the snowflake border.
Now your finished, I hope you liked it.
We would love to see what you make with the color blue.

Come over and join our challange and maybe you are the winner of some rubber.

Green Snow

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!  Gail here today.
I just wasn't feeling the blues today so I went with a the more traditional Christmas colours of green and red.   The traditional thing kinda stops there cos I am sure that a Monkey with a Banjo is not usual on a Christmas card, but if they had let him into the party, I am sure he and the little drummer boy would have really got the manger rocking!!!!

I've used Carmen's Veranda Monkey with a Banjo and Lost Coast Designs Small Snowflakes and Misc. Words.

I stamped one of the small snowflakes many times on lime green card with Evergreen Bough distress ink and die cut the panel with a stitch rectangle die.  Then I embossed with Do-crafts Candy Cane embossing folder.

I added the panel to a red card base and stamped Carmen's Veranda Monkey with a Banjo on woodgrain patterned card, coloured with Promarkers and fussy cut.  I stamped the Misc. Words on the lime green card and backed with dark green card to make my sentiment.

Thanks for dropping by.  Don't forget to link up your stamped Winter and/or Blue projects for a chance to win!

Snowflake Gnome

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Cathy here with a snowflake gnome card for you.
Pompom Gnome

I started off by painting the background with different colors of blue distress sprays. I put a few drops on my craftmat and dry brush it on.
After that was dry I used sliver embossing and enbossed the Snowflake set . I layered it on to a blue shinny paper and added some snowflake diecuts.
I then stamped and colored the Pompom Gnome with copic markers. Cut out and added to front. Layer it on the front of a white card.

Come join the winter blues fun here. Also the sale is still going on to get 25% off. Check it out.

Winter Blues: Two Gnomes

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Welcome back from Laurie with another entry for the "Winter Blues" challenge going on the whole month of December here on the Portal.

I made a fun Gnomes card for this entry using the 2 Gnomes stamp from Lost Coast Designs and the Resign from Adulthood clear stamp from Carmen's Veranda.

For my first step, I created a white card base.  I then took a piece of dark blue card stock and using a "snow fall" die, I created what looks like a night sky with snow falling.  I attached that to my card base.  I stamped my gnomes with dark blue ink onto white card stock and colored them with green and navy blue Copic Sketch markers.  I then cut them out and attached them to the lower left corner with foam tape.

I stamped my sentiment onto white paper with dark blue ink and ran it through my printer to reduce the size to 75%.  I edged that with blue ink and affixed it to the upper right corner as shown.

Easy peasy and you gotta' love those gnomes!  So get out your rubber stamps and let's see what you can create for our "Winter Blues" challenge!

Blue ATCs

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Cathy here with some blue ATCs

I made these 4 ATCs after watching a video. She was making tags and she was wiping the the paint off on the tags and then stamping over them. Well I didn't have my paints out so grabbed what I had next to me and they were distress sprays. I unscrewed the cap and put a few drops on my mat and brushed them over the 4 ATCs. I used 4 different blues, added white dots and then I stamped corner swril  off the side.

Mistletoe Goth

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Oh how I love this challenge - Winter Blues - where your creations can be filled with winter goodness or BLUE (my fav. color!!)

So today I have this beautiful lady to share with you....

She is Mistletoe Goth and was stamped/embossed on a piece of alcohol inked paper. After she was embossed she was colored with alcohol markers, die-cut and mounted on a blue panel which was stamped using the Daisy Flourish stamp.  That panel was then mounted on a white card base. To finish off the card I added glitter to her fringe.

Hope you join in this month long challenge!!

#112 Winter blues, Winter scape.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi there, Riet here with a Snowy cityscape.

 I used:

Cityscape http://www.lost-coast-designs.com/scenery.html

Snowflakes border http://www.lost-coast-designs.com/borders.html

 Distressink tumbled glass, speckled egg.
Stazon midnight blue.
Posca pen white.
I started with a white cardstock.
Sponged the 1/3 bottom with speckled egg.
The second 1/3 with tumbled glass.
Keep the upper half white.
Stamp with the stazon midnight blue the cityscape stamp.
Now for the snowflakes.
I cut 3 snowflakes off the border stamp.
Thats why I love the LCD border stamps, they are fairly long.
So you can cut a little piece of to use as a single stamp.
I stamped them with speckled egg, 1,2 and 3th generation stamping.
Now you have darker and lighter snowflakes.
With the posca pen (acrylic marker),
you make snow on the buildings of the cityscape stamp.
Ad some snow on to the bottom of the card.
And now tap on the marker to spletter some white paint as snow on the card.
Matt your card and your finished.
I had lots of fun creating this card.

I love this winter/blue challenge and I cant waite to see what you will make for this challenge.

So join us and have fun stamping.

Blue Bubbles

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!!  Gail here today.  I hope your December is going well.
Our current challenge is Winter Blues.  We want to see winter and/or blue featuring on your stamped projects.  I've used the beautiful Mistletoe Goth and many shades of blue with lots of sparkle, which makes it all feel festive.

I've used Lost Coast Designs Mistletoe Goth, Bubbles Background and Peace Dictionary Words.

I started by stamping Bubbles Background on the card base and embossing with dark blue embossing powder.  I stamped Mistletoe Goth on pale grey card with Manganese archival ink, coloured with Promarkers and fussy cut.  Then I went a little bit crazy with the glitter!!!!   Bling!!!!

I stamped the Peace sentiment on vellum and ripped the edges, but when I placed it on the card the background was overwhelming.  So I backed the vellum with some pale blue card and then fussy cut it to match the ripped vellum edge.

We are looking forward to seeing your Winter Blues makes.
