Christmas in July: Furry Christmas baubles

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi everyone,Liesbeth here,  our final inspiration card for the Christmas in July challenge!

It's very simple: I stamped the two circles from the Shadow frames set several times with pinks and reds, I masked some of them. After that I stamped onto the baubles with purple and red, using the set 5 circles. (Some of them are masked again)

I finished the card with drawing the strings, sponging the edges, stamping the text (party words) and some glitter glue! :-)

Have fun!  :-) Hope you join in!

Christmas in July

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello everyone, its Riet here.
Funny, making Christmas cards in July.
Well I'm actually happy with it, then I'm definitely on time.

I started with the background.
I used light blue watercolor paint and plastic wrap.
So it looks like the ice on the window in winter.
Did the same with a piece of paper and green watercolor paint.
While drying I colored Megan's Christmas bird with pencils.
When the background has dried,
I stamped with black stazon Megan's bird on the background.
Then cut the bird out and glued it on the background.
With a die, I cut out the branches.
Glued the pearls with a hotfix and colored the lights and berries with a red marker.
Now some accents on the berries and lights and eye with the white gel pen.
I used a die for the “merry christmas” and black paper.
Then I sponged the edge of the card with black soot distressink.
Glued the card on a black mat and its done.
Hope you enjoyd this little tutorial.
You can still join the christmas in july challenge.
There is some stamping rubber to win.
Have fun making your beautiful cards.

Christmas In July: Singing Angels

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Happy Summer from Laurie, and it's a perfect time to do something a little different.  Thus our current challenge:  Christmas In July.  It will be here before we know it!

I made a card for this challenge using the Herald Angels stamp from Lost Coast
Designs.

I started by stamping my image on to smooth white card stock with black ink.  I colored in areas with Copic Sketch Markers and cut around the edges of the stamped image.

For my background, I used another piece of smooth white card stock and using Versa Mark ink and clear embossing powder, I heat embossed a swirled design all over the page.  Once it was dried, I sprayed and sponged blue and turquoise Distress Ink Sprays over the surface, wiping up any excess ink.  I positioned my stamped image over the center of the background page and attached it as shown.

So dig out your Christmas craft supplies and join us for the fun challenge:  Christmas In July.  You could win some free stamps!

Christmas in July: Keyhole (with tutorial)

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi everyone, it's Christmas here at the blog! :-D I'dd love to show you how I made this Christmas card. I love the (medium) Keyhole stamp so much, you can creatie wonderful ,look-throughs' with it! This is how I made this card:

Colour a piece of white cardstock wth Distress ink and water.( I used Speckled Egg and Salty Ocean) Stamp the keyhole, using black ink, onto the card and two times on masking paper.

Cut out the masks as shown here.

Cover the stamped keyhole on the card with the smallest mask and stamp some snowflakes (Large Snowflakes set) with the same Distress colours on the edges. Remove the mask.

Now cover the edges with the bigger mask, and stamp the Swinging gnome and the landscape (Cracked grass and sky) into the keyhole with black ink. Remove the mask.

Finishing the card: Change the small leaves into fir branches with a black marker. Colour the images with colour pencils. Make some shadows here and there with charcoal or ink and a q-tip). Use a yellow glitter pen on the small stars. Add a star sequin on the gnomes head. I used a text from ,Party words'.

Have fun! If something is not clear, please ask! :-) Hope you join in!

Tweet Christmas Wishes

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal peeps!!!  Gail here today.
I hope you are keeping safe and well.  We are jumpstarting the Christmas spirit with our Christmas in July challenge.  It's always nice to get the Christmas making started early with a few cards and I've used Lost Coast Designs lovely Megan's Christmas Bird and given it a vintage look.

I started with this 12x12" (30x30cm) sheet of designer card that looks like a crumpled paper bag and cut a 6x4" (10x15cm) panel.
I stamped Megan's Christmas Bird with black archival and coloured the lights with red and green Promarkers.  I used a little purple Promarker on the hat and added some white gel pen highlights.  I used distress markers to add colour to the bird and stamped the Merry Christmas sentiment with brown archival ink.
I used a gold glittery gel pen to colour the tops of the lights, the light string and the hat.
I added some lace to the panel and then mounted it on a copper base card.
Thanks for dropping by.  Don't forget to get your jingle on and link up your stamped Christmas makes for a chance to win!!   Linky closes last of the month!!!!

Christmas in July

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Cathy here with some Christmas tags for you
Stamps Used:
Reindeer gnome
Pompom gnome
Sunglasses gnome
CDRolly jester
Pieces of Architecture
Small snowflake set
I started off with some Kraft tags and some distress oxide sprays.
One I drippled the the sprays from the the bottle. Set aside to dry. I stamped Pieces of Architecture only on the blues ones. I really didn't like how it came out. You really couldn't see them.
On the second tag I took all the splatter and smooched it on to the tag. On both of them I stamped  Small snowflake set  with blue ink.
I repeated the same steps for the green and red tags.
Then all the tags were dry I stamped out my main images and cut them out. Then I decided where there were going on the tag and then colored them with Copic to match the tags.
Layered them with washi tape and glitter.

Off the edge: Adventure

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello! The final day for the ,Off the edge`-challenge! Today I show you a card using the Large Deer Skull stamp. I love the Western animal skulls so much, and they are perfect to stamp off the edge as well!
On a Distress inked background I stamped the skull, and one of it's feathers with black StazOn ink. I bleached the skull and feathers with a synthetic brush and some bleach. I finished it with color pencils and charcoal shadows. And, of course, a sentiment from Misc. words.

Off the Edge: Yoga Cats Get Down

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi all from Laurie again!  I hope you are all healthy and able to find extra time to spend doing crafty projects while we are all stuck at home.

I have another project for our "Off the Edge" challenge in which I use the following stamps:

Yoga Cat #9 and Doodle Circles Background, both from Lost Coast Designs, and  I Swear I Have It Together clear stamp from Carmen's Veranda.

I created my background by using some Distress Spray inks in shades of blue, orange, and green on some pre-moistened watercolor paper.  I sprayed on my inks then sprayed more water and let the colors kind of run together, then blotted up the excess moisture with a tissue.  I used a heat gun to dry and set the colors.

Using the Doodle Circles background stamp and some turquoise Distress Oxide Ink, I stamped the circles onto my background page.  Next I stamped my two yoga cats with black ink onto turquoise scrapbook paper and fussy cut them out.  I attached them as shown along the bottom of my card, with  the one on the right coming in from "off the edge".

I stamped my sentiment with black ink onto white paper and layered it with the same turquoise scrapbook paper; I then attached it as shown to the upper right corner.  Final step was to edge my background with turquoise ink and layer it with a white panel.

Please show us what fun things you can create that are "going off the edge".  Don't forget to use some rubber stamping somewhere in your projects.  You just might win some free stamps!!

Strangely Tropical

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!  Gail here today to hopefully inspire you to join our current challenge with some Off The Edge stamping.
I've used Carmen's Veranda Monkey Face.  He's usually quite off the edge so that made the challenge pretty easy.  I also added Carmen's Veranda Pineapple, for that truely tropical feel and lots of Lost Coast Designs Sketchy Rose stamp.
I stamped the monkey with brown archival and masked.  Then I stamped the pineapple, inking the fruit with yellow and the leaves with green archival ink.
I stamped the rose with pink archival ink, using 4 masks to allow me to fill up the background.
I used green gel pens for the monkey's eyes and used brush markers to add some scribbled colour to the flowers and pineapple.   I've also got a layered die cut in there, but I'm still trying to decide if I like it, so I'm not gonna say too much about it LOL.
Thanks for dropping by.  Join the Off The Edge fun for your chance to win Lost Coast dollars.  Hugz

#102 Off the edge, florish

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi, Riet here, and I will show you  a card with the beautiful florish stamp from Lost Coast Designs.
I really like this stamp, it has open parts in the flowers and leaves. This gives you the opportunity to color the florish. Love that, dont you?
So I sponged the background with distressink squeezed lemonade, peacock feathers and picked rasberry. I dropt some water on it so you get some stains.
I took a die and cut two branches and sponge them with the 3 colors.
Stamped the florish with memento black.
I used posca pens to color the florish, yellow, pink and 2 greens.
And with a white and black posca I dotted the florish.

I had fun making this card en hope you do to.
Dont forget to join the challenge, you have a change to win some rubber.
So come on over and join.

Hat Weather

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!!  Gail here today with a bonus post for you!!!

I'm elfing out at the Christmas Kickstart challenge this month where it's all about hats, and Christmas of course.  I've used Lost Coast Designs Reindeer Gnome and Party Words.  Do check out the new section cos the gnomes are just awesome!!!
I stamped Reindeer Gnome on a piece of card and masked.  Then I randomly stamped the Merry Christmas all around, all around....  Oops sorry, the jingle got me LOL.  I coloured the gnome with Promarkers and a little glitter on his pom pom, then cut the panel with a hexagonal stitched die.  I thought the red base card looked a bit too plain so I used the smallest hexagonal die, cut 4 times and added them behind each corner of the large panel.
This card also works for the current Lost Coast Portal to Creativity challenge where we want to see Off The Edge stamping.  Check out all the amazing makes from the team and join the fun.

Thanks for dropping by.  Get your jingle and your hats on. or just fall off the edge and join the fun.  Hugz
