CHALLENGE #198

COLOUR CHALLENGE

We want to see your stamped anythings featuring the colours
LEMON AND LIME or TERRACOTTA AND TURQUOISE.
You can pick which colour scheme you want to use.  You can include black and white and a small splash of other colours if you must, but the main colours should be obvious.
Real rubber or clear stamping and the theme must be the focus of your project.  A small stamped sentiment in a sea of die cuts or digi images will not qualify to win the prize and you may be deleted!!!!  Bwahahhaaahaha.

Please read the updated Challenge Rules to ensure your entries qualify to win this month's prize!

You are welcome to play in our Challenges using rubber stamp images from any company but if you use any of our Lost Coast Designs or Carmen's Veranda stamps...we love it when you do...then you could win a bigger prize in our random prize drawing.  All winners get our snazzy Challenge Winner's Badge to proudly display on their blogs!

If you don't have a blog then no prob, you can still play in our challenges by sharing your projects from public photo sharing sites which includes our Facebook Company Pages for Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda.  Please include our Challenge info and the link back to our challenge in your photo's description!  As long as the privacy setting for your photo is public you're good to go.  See, it's so easy to join the fun!  FYI, you can't link up projects shared in closed Facebook groups!

The team were all inspired with the terracotta and turquoise option to get us started.  ENJOY!

Love and Hearts Challenge - Sweet Love

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Ink Stained Roni here...I hope you're enjoying the current challenge Love & Hearts. Today I have a little "steamy" card for you - Sweet Love.

I love everything Steampunk so I thought it would be fun to create a Valentine's Day card for my sweetie using the new Gears background by stamping it with VersaMark ink on pink cardstock then embossing with Hematite EP.

I then stamped the Steampunk Bicycle Lady twice, once on kraft colored paper and once on a piece of grey cardstock. The clock was trimmed from the kraft paper and inked along the edge with Pine Cone VersaFine Clair ink.  The Bicycle Lady was trimmed from the grey cardstock and colored using a variety of colored pencils.  The Clock was mounted directly to the pink card and the lady was adhered using foam tape.  To finish off the card I stamped "Sweet Love" from the set Misc. Words.

Hope you join in on the fun with our Love and Hearts Challenge!
You might just be the lucky winner.

Good morning and a very happy Monday! It's Sue here and it's the last few days of our fun Tag challenge, so here's my second piece.

This time I started by making an inky background and stamping the License Plate Alpha Set.

I LOVE this sentiment, they are words to live by!

These are my fab stamps

There's still time to join in with us, so start stamping your tags!

Have a great week whatever you are doing, and thanks so much for looking x

#135 Let's fly. Step by step, how to marble a background.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi there, I love this theme, you can use what ever you like that can fly.
Birds, butterfly's, dragonfly's or steampunk images with wings, angels and .........

Stamps that I used and how I made the card.

Butterfly set.

Art wings to fly.

Coatted paper
Distress oxide:
Iced spruce
Speckled egg
Bundled sage
Stazon black
and some markers for coloring.

Smear some of the 3 oxide colors on your craftsheet and spray with water.
Dab the paper in here, repeat until you are satisfied.
I left it very light because I wanted a marble effect.
Now I made the marble veins with the black Distress oxide.
With the side of the ink pad you draw stripes on the craft sheet.
You spray this with water and put the paper on it.
Don't wipe, just dab the black.
Let it air dry.

And look what a beautiful result.
You can of course do it in all kinds of other color combinations.
Or just keep it black and white.
What ever you like most.
Stamp the Steampunk bicycle lady with Distress oxide iced spruce.
And with Stazon black you can now stamp the round pieces of calligraphy, the alphabet strip and the butterfly.
Because the paper is coated, it takes a little longer for the ink to dry.
Now mask all the stamps and stamp the background with Distress oxide Iced spruce and a piece of calligraphy stamp.
Color the stamps to your liking and then you're done.

The team would love it if you join the challenge.
And you can also win new rubber stamps.
You are not even required to use LCD stamps.
As long as you follow the theme.
So, click on the link and join us and most of all have fun.

#119 Numbers

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello everybody, Riet here.
This challenge is al about numbers.
And as I have a preference for vintage and steampunk stamping, I went in that direction.
I used the lovely Steampunk bicycle lady.
This card is not so difficult to make.
So even a beginner can try out this technique.
I will help you through it.
So here we go.

What you need:
Embossing folder with numbers on it.
A white card.
Distress oxide,
Speckled egg
Ground espresso
Broken china
Fossilized amber
Crackling campfire
Distressink (not the oxide) Walnut stain
Stazon Timber brown
Markers or pencils to color the stamp.

Now the first step is to make ink puddles with,
Speckled egg, Ground espresso, Broken china
and Fossilized amber.
Spray a little bit of water on the ink.
Now pickup the ink with the paper.

Dry the paper, but leave it a little bit damp.
When embossing with a folder it works better when the paper is not compleetly dry.

Run trough your die cutting machine.

For the next step we are going to swipe with the stamppads over the raised parts.

Spray a littlebit of water so the ink will run out a bitt.
Dry the paper and then repeat the proces again.
As last repeat it with the Broken China.

Keep doing this till you like the results.

Now stamp the steampunk bicycle lady and color her.

Before you gleu her on the card, I have sew some stitching at the top and bottem.
And added 3 hotfix bronze stars.
And glued the card on dark brown cardstock.
Hope you liked this tutorial, and have fun with stamping.

We, the team would love to see your makes.
So feel free to join our numbers challenge.
There is a chance for you to win some rubberstamps.
You can join with all kind of stamp brands,
but please read the rules first.
