Pineapple Summer

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps.  Gail here today with a hot and juicy summer make.  Gotta love some fresh pineapple when the summer temperatures are soaring.
I've made an Inchie Twinchie background using Lost Coast Designs Grunge Border 2" and Carmen's Veranda's Pineapple
I stamped Carmen's Veranda's Pineapple, the fruit with Dandelion archival ink and the leaves with Library Green archival ink.  I coloured the fruit with Mustard Seed distress ink and the leaves with Mowed Lawn distress ink.  Then I restamped the fruit with Potting Soil archival cos the whole no line thing was just too bland and there is nothing worse than a bland pineapple!!
I wanted a hot background so I stamped Lost Coast Designs Grunge Border 2" with red Carnation archival ink, coloured with Mustard Seed distress and chopped it into 1" and 2" squares.
I arranged my Inchies and Twinchie on a red base card in an ascetically pleasing manner.
Add the pineapple and it's Pina Colada time!!!
Join the Inchie Twinchie fun for a chance to win Lost Coast Dollars!!

Serendipity

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!!  Gail here today and I decided to make some Artist Trading Coins for the current ATC Challenge that is running for the first two weeks of March, here at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity.   Have you made ATCoins??  They were a new thing last year and became very trendy.  I love em!  2.5 inch circles of fun!!  Big enough to add lots of details, small enough to be a quick idea.  I like to make them as a trio so here we are with Swimsuit Girl in vintage style.

I stamped Swimsuit Girl on various paper scraps using Potting Soil archival ink and fussy cut
I cut my coins using a 2.5inch die from another scrap of patterned paper.  I thought the girls looked quite good just like that, but decided to stamp the background a bit as well.
I used the long clear Serendipity sentiment from Carmen's Veranda, stamping it across the three coins using the same Potting Soil ink.  Then I stamped sections of Lost Coast Designs Grunge 3" Border above and below the main word.
Edged with the same ink and added the Beach Babes and done!!

Duck Shit

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Gail here today.  The new challenge here at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity is Tweet This!!   We want to see birds on your projects.   Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda have lots and lots of amazing bird themed stamps and the team will be showcasing these the next couple of weeks.  Carmen's Veranda's Duck insisted on making another outing!!
He's just so adorable!!  Here he is showing his rebellious side!

I stamped Lost Coast Designs Grunge Border 3" using Wilted Violet distress ink on grey card and cut it with Sizzix Deckle Edge die.  This gave a nice subtle look, but you can still see the details.
I stamped Duck on yellow card using Potting Soil archival and fussy cut and adjusted his wings so he looks a bit more animated.  I stamped the Carmen's Veranda Giveashitometer sentiment and embossed with black ink.  Actually, knowing ducks, I am not sure this sentiment is quite correct, cos ducks shit a lot!!  But there you go!!  Artistic license.  Oh, and despite my usually dislike of punctuation on sentiments I actually felt this one needed a few more full stops, so I used an embossing pen and some more powder to make it a bit more open ended.  I mounted it on a yellow card base that I stamped with Carmen's Veranda Dice Background and the brown archival ink.
Thanks for dropping by.  Link up your Birdie makes for a chance to win Lost Coast dollars and don't forget to drop back often to see more amazing inspiration from the team.

Marmalade Me

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!  Gail here today with a thing.  I actually wasn't sure where this was going or what to call it.  Too big for a postcard.  No canvas involved.  Then I realised a few pieces of thin magnetic sheet on the back and I would have a mega fridge magnet, guaranteed to make me smile if I was having one of those days.....

Yep, happy fridge art, using the wonderful Tabby Cat from Carmen's Veranda.  And in keeping with our current challenge there needed to be some NUMBERS!!

I started by stamping Lost Coast Designs Grunge Border 3" using Colorbox Autumn ink pad.  This has three ink colours on it.  Well, it did have!!  Might have blended them a bit together now LOL.   I stamped the border twice to get the ruler detail in the middle of my panel.  If you haven't checked out the World of Borders section in the Lost Coast catalogue you really should pop over.  So many beautiful designs starting at $1!!  Yep, really.  Definitely worth a visit.  This one is 3" wide and 8" long!!  Huge!!!!  Not a dollar unfortunately, but very reasonably priced LOL.

I cut the piece of the panel I wanted to use and stamped the Like a Trainwreck sentiment from Carmen's Veranda.  I was feeling grungy and very orange so I actually started by stamping with orange ink and embossing with orange powder.  Unfortunately it didn't really pop, so I stamped again with blue ink and embossed with black powder!!  Not sure why I mixed all those colours but I quite like the grungy blurry shadowy effect.  I embossed a piece of orange card with Cuttlebug Ruler Embossing folder and highlighted with orange ink

I stamped Tabby Cat with blue ink on some DCWV cloud patterned paper and fussy cut.  I gave her a neon pink nose and glossy accents on those big sad eyes.

Since someone had mentioned glitter I want a little crazy with the tangerine glitter glue.  I have glitter glue in many fabulous flavours!!  A piece of magnetic sheet on the back and Tabby Cat can take pride of place on the fridge.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope you feel inspired to make a stamped anything with Numbers and join the fun with our current challenge.

And don't forget the Tip Your Hat event is also in full swing, so if you have a hatty make you can link that up as well until the 14th of September.  Double fun here at the Portal!!
