Christmas in July #171 - Girl With a Curl

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Roni here with another creation for the Challenge - Christmas in July.

I wanted to use some non-traditional stamps to create this card so I used the Girl With a Curl for the focal image which was stamped on kraft cardstock using black ink.  To create the background I used the Daisy Flourish which was stamped multiple times using Green Oasis Versafine Clair ink pad.  To finish the card off I stamped the sentiment from  Party Words and added a few sequins for a bit of bling.

Christmas in July

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Goodmorning all, Cathy here with a Christmas card for you.

Stamp Used: mini-Santa gnome.

I started out with a brown card base. I then picked out some Christmas paper and cut 1 strip at 1 inch and 1 at 1 1/2 inch. Then I layered them together. I glued them to the side with a label underneath it.

I then stamped the mini-Santa gnome. I colored it with copic markers and added some sparkle to the hat and suit. I added him to the bottom of the card and then added some red pearls to the top corner of the card. Lastly, I added a saying and a Christmas square.

Christmas in July: Santa Mona

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

How fun is this - having a chance to use our Christmas craft supplies in July!  It's Laurie here with a fun card for the holidays and our current challenge:  Christmas in July.  This card uses the Santa Mona
stamp from Lost Coast Designs and the Dear Santa clear stamp from Carmen's Veranda.

I started this by making a collage master board using exclusively Christmas papers.  My master board was 5 x 7 so I cut a section of it down to fit the front of a 5 1/2"  X 4 1/4" card front.  I edged it with Distress Vintage Photo ink and adhered it to my white card base.

Santa Mona was stamped with black ink onto white card stock and fussy cut out.  I colored her in with Copic sketch markers and affixed her to the card front.  The sentiment was stamped with black ink onto a white square, edged in red ink, and placed at the bottom of the card front as shown.  Final touch was adding a white pompom to her Santa hat.

We look forward to seeing what Christmas-y projects you can create for this challenge and encourage you to post them here on the Portal for a chance to win some free stamps!

#171 Christmas in July.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi, Riet here.
Hello stampers, today my DTmember entry for the Christmas in July challenge.
I have a description for you here how to make the card or art journal page.

What I used:
Carmen's Veranda - Christmas Tree,
Lost Coast designs-Gnome santa with toys,
Lost Coast Designs - Brush Strokes,
Lost Coast designs - pieces of calligraphy,
Lost Coast designs - Party words.

Other materials:
americana acrylic paint,
blue grass green,
Bahama blue.
White
Stazon Jet black, Forest green.
Color pencils, I used Derwent Inktense.
Waterproof black fineliner.
Posca white marker.
Black paint to splash with.
Ink/paint roller.
Coloring pencils in the colors of the background
and red and black for the santa.
I started by roling out the paint.
I used all three colors starting with the lightest.
If you find the colors too hard you can go over it with some white paint.
Stamp the christmas tree with the stazon Forest Green.
And color the ornaments red.

And then I got so absorbed in my work that I forgot to take any further pictures.
But we'll just continue with the explanation.
With the brush strokes sheet we stamp the background here and there.
I applied some acrylic paint with a sponge on the stamps.
This way you stay in the same colors.
Give some more color accents with the pencils.
I stamped the small text of the Pieces of calligraphy with black stazon.
I applied the same colors of paint on a strip of paper.
With stazon black the Merry Christmas of the party words
sheet stamped on the strip.
Scribbled around the stamps with a black fineliner.
Make some splashes with some black paint.
Stamp the gnome on thin paper with stazon black and color it with the pencils.
Cut it out and glue it on.
Now glue the text on top and matte the card with red and black.
Give some white accents with the white posca pen.
And that's it for this time.
Will you also join the challenge?
You have a chance to win stamps and you can also participate with other stamp brands.
As long as you stamp on your project.

Kukla Christmas

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!   It's Christmas in July here at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and the team are sharing awesome seasonal inspiration so we can take a break from the heat of summer and get a jump on the Christmas makes.  I was going to use Lost Coast Designs Santa Mona, but then I spotted Carmen's Veranda Kukla and decided to borrow Mona's hat for him to wear!

I stamped Kukla and Santa Mona's hat, coloured with Promarkers, added glitter glue to the hat fluffy bits and fussy cut.
I used post-it notes to mask the centre of Lost Coast Designs Arches and Doors Background, inked it up with Prickly Pear archival ink.  I removed the masks and inked up the top and bottom of the stamp with Library Green archival ink and stamped on white card.  I used yellow watercolour paint to colour in the doorway.
I added Kukla and his hat and also a Christmas Wishes sentiment from Lost Coast Designs Party Words set.
You have until 23.59 PST on the 31st and don't forget to follow us so you don't miss anything!  The team will be posting more inspiration throughout the month so check back and join the Christmas In July fun!

Challenge #171 - Steampunk Christmas

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Roni here with a fun card for the current challenge #171 Christmas in July
I thought it would be fun to play around with a Steampunk Christmas so I stamped and colored the Gears 2 background using various shades of red and green markers in my stash.  I then colored the Steampunk Heart using the same colors.  I trimmed the background to fit onto a red card base then added a bit of burlap, the heart and sentiment from the Party Words set.

Hope you join in on the fun with Christmas in July!!

Christmas in July: Snowman

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

So crazy to think that Christmas is 6 months away, so we are doing a "Christmas in July" Challenge here on the Portal.  And this is a fun card for the first day of this Challenge, using the Snowman stamp from Carmen's Veranda as well as the Find Your Happy Place clear stamp, also from Carmen's.

The background for this card is one I made using blue and lime green Distress Oxide Ink pads and an impression plate with various designs on it, applied to a Gelli Plate.  The snowman was stamped with black ink onto white card stock and the scarf, buttons, and arms were colored with Copic Sketch markers.  I fussy cut him out and affixed him to the card front as shown.  The sentiment was stamped with blue ink onto a white strip and cut into sections, affixed in the upper left corner with foam tape for some dimension.

I love the non-traditional colors of this holiday card, and we are excited to see what fun creations you have up your sleeve for our "Christmas In July" challenge.  Be sure to enter your creations her for a chance to win some free stamps.

Red, White and Blue: Fish

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Welcome from Laurie on the last day of the current challenge:  Red, White, and Blue.  So be creative in whatever way you like - just make it red, white and blue!

That's what I have done with this card using the Mini Fish Collage stamp from Lost Coast Designs.
I started by stamping the fish with blue ink onto white card stock.  I edged it with red ink and added some touches of red ink here a there within the collage.  I added a blue "jewel" to the fish eye then layered it with a gel print I made using red and blue acrylic paints on a page from a vintage book.
I layered this with a piece of blue card stock and that's a wrap!

So get out your red, white and blue craft supplies and make something for our current challenge!  A lucky winner will receive some free stamps from Lost Coast Designs and/or Carmen's Veranda!

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello, all Cathy here with a card for you.
New mini gnomes not on website yet
I stamped a stamp from the Pieces of calligraphy in red ink and in blue ink on a piece of red, white and blue check paper.
I then stamped one of the new mini gnomes on white cardstock with blue ink. I glued some sparkly sequence, so it looks like the gnome is juggling.

Red , white and blue: Button Girl

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi everyone! I love this kind of colour challenges so very much! You are free to create anything you like, as long as it's Red,white and blue! A very nice colour combination... it's the colours of our Dutch flag too!
For this card I used the lovely Button Girl. The text is taken from Party Words.

I stamped the girl onto a white card with red ink (every kind works) and also with blue onto another piece of white cardstock. I cut out and added some blue parts as shown (wings, buttons and lace). I finished with the text (blue and red) and a blue colour pencil and ...of course... some Stickles here and there. The card is glued onto blue and red cardstock.

Have a nice day,
LiesbethXX

Abstract Elk

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!!   Gail here today.  I am loving all the Red, White and Blue on the blog and in the linky.  Doesn't it look awesome!!!  I decided to just get out some stamps today, ink them up and see where it led me.  I got out Lost Coast Designs lovely Shadow Frame stamps and decided to go abstract with some distress oxide inks.

I started by stamping the large rectangle Shadow Frame stamp with Candied Apple distress oxide ink and then the small circle Shadow Frame stamp with Salty Ocean distress oxide ink on white card
I grunged up the background by randomly stamping the Doodle Circles ATC stamp and PMC Circles stamp with blue ink using the stamps off the block so I could just do partial impressions.  Then I stamped Lost Coast Designs Medium Elk Skull with red ink directly on the card and then on a piece of white card.  I fussy cut the elk image and added it to the stamped panel.
You have until 23.59 PST on the 14th and don't forget to follow us so you don't miss anything!  The team will be posting more inspiration throughout the month so check back and join the Red, White and Blue fun.
Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

#170 Red, White and Blue challenge

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

 Hi there stamp lovers,
What fun to make something in red, white and blue.
And what a great challenge.
They are of course the colors of the 4th of July holiday in the USA.
I made this tag with that in mind.

What I used for this tag.

Rosettes die.
border die with stars.
Star punches,
Stencil with sun rays.

Distressink,
Chipped sapphire,
Fired brick,
Antique linen,
Vintage photo,
Walnut stain.

Aqua markers blue, orange and red.
Dark blue and red cardstock
A blank tag.
Red, white and blue ribbon.
Foam tape.

How to make this tag.
I started with Megan's Christmas Bird.
Using a stamping platform and the aqua markers, I stamped the bird.
I cut it out and set it aside to dry.

I sponged the tag with the 3 distressink colors.

Then sprayed it wet with water and dryed  it with the heattool.

I did the same with a small strip of paper,
and stamped with the Chipped sapphire `Let´s Celebrate`
from the Party words sheet.

With a sun rays stencil you sponge the distressink Fired brick on the tag.

And with a stamp from the Pieces of Calligraphy set
and Chipped sapphire you make 3x a print.

Make a puddle of ink and water and run the rosette strip trough it.
One with red and one with blue.
Let it dry.

Blend some walnut stain on the edges.
Fold the rosette and glue a star in the middle of it.

Cut the dark blue cardstock slightly larger than the tag.
But a lot longer on the bottem so that you have the space to make a border with a star die.
The last you cut is the top of the tag in the blue cardstock.
Now we are going to assemble the tag.
I adhered the bird and the banner with foam tape.
With punches I made stars in red, white and blue.
For the rosettes and here and there on the tag.
Don't forget to put a star on the bird's hat.
This is how we make the holly on the hat disappear.
Now mat the tag with the red cardboard.
A red, white and blue ribbon through it and the tag is ready.

I hope you wil join us and show what you made with,
Red, White an Blue.
