Alice's Adventures

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi all, Aimee here! All women were once young girls, so I think this card still qualifies for this month's Woman Challenge.
I used the Four Alices and Brush Strokes stamps from Lost Coast Designs and the Courage and Cusswords stamp from Carmen's Veranda. For the sentiment shown here, I cut off the last lines of the phrase to focus on the adventure aspect, something Alice in Wonderland is known for. Follow along with this pictorial to learn how I put it all together.
There's one more day left for you to submit your stamped creation to the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity as part of the Woman Challenge. Who knows?! Maybe yours will be selected to win a prize!

Challenge 195 - I Am Woman Challenge

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi there! You've got Kathi here today to share a card created for Challenge 195 - I Am Woman with the Crown Mona Rubber Stamp by Lost Coast Designs

Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp Crown Mona twice — once onto white cardstock and once onto repositionable sticker paper.

Use Copic markers to color Crown Mona on the image panel. Fussy-cut the sticker paper version and place it over its counterpart on the image panel.

Move the image panel to a magnetic surface and secure it with magnets. Place a hill landscape stencil over the masked image and the panel. Brush light blue ink horizontally across the stencil.  Remove the stencil and use a small brush to apply green ink below the sky to form hills. Brush darker blue ink below the hills area to create a body of water. Use green and tan dye inks to to fill in the rest of the area behind Crown Mona. Remove Crown Mona's mask.

Cut metallic gold cardstock with an ornate frame die. Drip some black Posca Acrylic paint onto a baby wipe. Use the baby wipe to apply the black paint, let it set for a second or two, then wipe it away.

Place the frame over Crown Mona to frame her. Adhere framed Crown Mona to a 4" x 5.25" piece of brick patterned paper. Use a Gold Posca Paint Pen to edge and add a gold border to the patterned paper. Let the paint dry, then adhere the patterned paper to a grey A2 card.

Use alphabet dies and a word die to cut gold metallic cardstock. Adhere the sentiment to the card front as shown. Add the "Smile" metalllic sentiment sticker to finish the card.

You still have time to play along with our I Am Woman Challenge 195 and get the chance to win Lost Coast Ca$h.

#195 I am woman, challenge.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello everyone, Riet here,
what a fun challenge.
I decided to make an Art Journal page of it.
With the subject "women" I immediately thought of Frida Kahlo.
What beautiful art she made, and despite her physical suffering such a strong woman.
Here is the description of how I made it.

What do you need for this AJ page.

Shape die, Nellie Snellen, Vintasia oval with grid.
Black waterproof inkpad.
Distress Oxide,
Lucky clover,
Crackling Campfire,
Mermaid Lagoon,
Musterd Seed,
Wild Honey.
Coloring pencils

We start with three colors of ink and a little water.
We use that to make spots and stripes on the paper.

Repeat this with the lucky clover and mermaid lagoon.

Stamp the corner ornament with mermaid lagoon.
The calligraphy stamp with crackling campfire.
And the bubble stamp with lucky clover.
Make some splatters with black ink or paint.

Set it aside to dry.

Die cut the 3 parts of the die, the largest with black paper.
The 2 inner parts with white paper.
The middle part stays white.

The inner part is made green with lucky clover and a littlebit of water.

When its dry, splatter with the other distress oxide colors.

When all is dry, glue it together.

Stamp Frida in black waterproof ink.
Color with pencils or markers.
What ever you like to do most.

Do the same with the roses.
I stamped 4 roses and colored with pencils.

Glue everything to the background.

Stamp with black ink the phrase from Carmens Veranda,
Be a girl with a mind.

I hope you enjoyed it.
Feel free to leave a comment and if you have any questions, feel free to ask.
Now it's your turn for the challenge.
You probably have a stamp with a woman on it.
It can even be from a different brand, as long as you use stamps you can participate.
And maybe you'll win a prize, that would be nice, right?
Until next time, and have fun crafting.

I am Woman: Fly

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi everyone! Liesbeth here with a happy flying woman for our current challenge
I made it with a Infusions-background. I stamped the Robust Dancer with black StazOn ink and masked her. The leaves are stamped with the beautiful Large Tree Crown (CV) and two times the word Fly from Misc. Words. I bleached (pure bleach) the woman and finished the card with colour pencils.
Hope to see your creations too! :-)

Have a nice day!

March Woman Challenge - An Encouragement Card

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Greetings! It's Kathi here to share a card created for the March Woman Challenge 195 with the Harlequin Manga Girl Rubber Stamp and the Wings Rubber Stamp Set.

The first step was to use a stamping platform and stamp the Harlequin Manga Girl Rubber Stamp with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink twice — once onto the white cardstock image panel and once onto repositionable sticker paper.

The sticker paper version was fussy-cut and placed atop its counterpart on the image panel.

The large butterfly wings from the Wings Rubber Stamp Set were positioned facedown on either side of the masked Harlequin Manga Girl, then I checked their position by stamping onto a piece of plastic placed over the masked image panel. I adjusted their position so that they were more or less even, removed the plastic, inked the stamps, and stamped the Wings twice — once onto the image panel and once onto repositionable sticker paper.

The sticker paper Wings were fussy-cut and placed over their counterparts on the image panel.

The image panel was moved to a magnetic surface. A Clouds stencil was placed over the image panel. Working from the top, blue dye ink was brushed over the top of the stencil onto the image panel.

The stencil was moved downwards and shifted a bit to the side. Blue ink was brushed over the top of the stencil. This process was repeated until I had a blue cloudy sky.

However, I do love a touch of pink in my skies, so I used a small shading brush to brush pink dye ink over the stencil, the blue ink, and into the white cloud areas. The moving/shifting thing mentioned above was repeated until I was happy with the sky.

The stencil and masks were removed and the  Harlequin Manga Girl and Wings were colored with Copic markers. White Gel pen was used to add highlights to the Harlequin Manga Girl eyes, boots, and bracelets. A gold glitter pen was used to add gold glitter to her earring, necklace, and her buttons.

Clear and gold glitter pens were used to outline the Butterfly Wings.

The image panel was matted with black cardstock, then adhered to a 5" x 7" blue card. Gold metallic sentiment stickers were used to finish the card.

You still have eleven days to play along with our March Woman Challenge 195 for a chance to win Lost Coast Designs Cash. I sure hope I see your artwork!

Be the kind of woman

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Good morning, Cathy here with a fun woman card for you today.

                                                                       Stamps Used:
                                                                           Rose
                                                                         Grunge Diamond Background
                                                                          Flying ballerina
                                                                           Saying

I started by cutting a 4.2 x 5.5 card base. I then took some picked raspberry distress oxide ink and made the background.
I then stamped Rose in the same distress oxide ink as I used on the background.

Next, I stamped the Flying ballerina with black ink on the bottom center to make her pop from the card. I them added some Grunge Diamond Background around the open spots to fill in the blanks.

Lastly, I stamped the saying on the top with black ink.

You still have time to join the monthly challenge.

Girl with curl for the " I am woman" challenge.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi, here is another card for the challenge.
Love the theme of this month, I am woman.

Stamps I used.
LCD:

Versamark
Versafine onyx black,
Distress ink,
Bundled sage,
Tumbled glass,
Antique linen,
Speckled egg,
Iced spruce,
Victorian velvet.
Mica powder bronze/gold

Here's how I made the card.
I started by stamping the labels and perfume bottles
in different colors of Distress ink.

Mask the bottum bottle.
Stamp left and right from the mask bottle the other perfume bottles.

In the next picture you can see what I masked,
and stamped in the next phase.

Stamp the empty spaces with a stamp of the pieces of architecture and versamark.

Take a brush and powder the versamark prints with the mica powder.
And cut the card square.

Of course you could keep the card as is.
But I still wanted something with contrast on it.

So I stamped the girl with the curl in black ink.
Cut her out in a square.
I used foam tape to stick her in the middle.
Mat with black cardstock.

I love this month's theme.
And I'm very curious what you make.
Show it on our challenge blog or facebook.
Then you have a chance to win new stamps.
Until next time.
