Oh My Gourd

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Happy Fall, y'all! Aimee here. My favorite season is FINALLY here! Hands down, Autumn is the best time of year. Cooler temperatures, colorful leaves, pumpkin-spiced foods--I can't get enough of it!
I based the card around this sentiment sticker that reads "Oh My Gourd, Happy Fall." I created a background using the Large Flourish stamp which I then cut into 1x2-inch and 2-inch squares as part of the September Challenge hosted by  Lost Coast Designs. Follow along to see how I made this card:
You're going to need to work quickly if you want to make today's September 30 deadline for this month's Challenge on the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity. Get crackin' and maybe you'll win the prize. You got this!

Three Wise Monkeys

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

 Hi there, Riet here.
There's still time to join the inchies, twinchies or dominos challenge.
You have a chance to win rubberstamps of your choice.

Now how to make this slimline card.

 I used:
Stamps

Distress Oxide:
Twisted citron
Mowed lawn
Rustic wilderness
Wild honey
Spiced marmalade
Crackling campfire
Peacock feathers
Uncharted mariner
Distress ink Chipped sapphire
Because I don't have Distress oxide Chipped sapphire,
however I do have Distress ink, so I used that.
Stazon Timber brown
White gellpen.
Marianne design slimline cr1585
Coloured pencils or markers, whatever you like.
Washi tape small,
Green, orange and turquoise.
Foam tape.

Start by die cutting out the slimline parts.

Step 1
The coloring of the paper happens in 3 phases.
1. The lightest color.
2. The middle color.
3. The darkest color.
Allow each layer to dry thoroughly before applying the next.

Step 2

Step 3

Repeat this with the rest of the colors and die cut parts.

Stamp with Stazon Timber brown the small text stamp
from the Pieces of calligraphy sheet.

Stamp the three monkeys on thin paper using Stazon Timber Brown.
Color them with the colors from the card.
I also used three shades of each color for each monkey.

I used the washi tape to hold the monkeys in place.
Otherwise, they just hang awkwardly in the air.

Highlight the edges with the darkest shade of green.
Do the same with the blue background and the orange center piece.

It should look like this by now.
Continue assembling the card with foam tape.

Wouldn't you love to get some free stamps?
Well, then join the Lost Coast Designs/Carmen's Veranda Stamps challenge.
You don't even have to use our stamps to enter.
Read about that in the rules.
So I hope to see your creation there.

Autumn Moon

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!!!   Gail here today with a tag featuring a twinchie and a domino for the Inchie Twinchie Domino Challenge.  Have you got you makes linked up yet???   We really would love to see your ideas.  The team has ben having a blast with this theme.

I made a tag using Lost Coast Designs Leaves Background, Moon and Travel Quotes.

I started by cutting a tag from Bazzill Lima Bean card and stamped Lost Coast Designs Leaves using Hero Arts green ombre ink pad.

I stamped the moon and the sentiment of some yellow patterned card and applied some distress marker colour.  The Moon panel is a twinchie (2" x 2") and the sentiment panel is a domino (2" x 1")
For September we want to see your stamped makes featuring Inchies (1" x 1"), Twinchies (2" x 2"), and/or Dominos (2" x 1")  You can make said Inchies, Twinchies or Dominos with real rubber or clear stamping, or you can incorporate these sizes into your project in another way, perhaps chop up your background, or your foreground, cut windows, or maybe make a three dimensional shape, or a tiny album.
The team is sharing awesome projects all month so do scroll down and pop back to check out all the amazing inspiration.
Thanks for dropping by.

Two twinchies

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Goodmorning, Cathy here with 2 twinchies for you.

                                                                    Stamped Used:
                                                     small skeleton
                                                    Flying skull
                                                    pieces of calligraphy

I started by cutting 2 pieces of white cardstock to 2x2 and then coloring them with distress ink. I then cut 2 black cardstock pieces and then I trimmed the white ones down to stack on top of the black ones.
I stamped each with the main stamp in black and then stamped the script in the same distress ink color I did the background in.
Lastly, I added some ephemera to each of them.

 Come join the fun challenge.

#201 Inchie, Twinchie or dominos challenge

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

 Hi everyone,
Today I made a card with inchies for the challenge at Lost Coast Designs.
The stamps I used are:

I also used:
Versafine onyx black
Black paint
Black marker
coloring pencils
Distress oxide Hickory smoke
Stickels diamond

I stamped 4 bugz on 4 inchies with Versafine onyx black.
I colored them in with pencils.
Stamped the large dragonfly onto the background paper with Versafine Onyx Black.
In the bottom corners, I stamped the Daisy Floral with Distress Oxide Hickory Smoke.
Colored the dragonfly and added diamond stickles to the wings and the bugs.
Outlined the inchies and the background with a black marker.
Splattered some black paint and matte with white,
and gave them a black border with the marker as well.
And that's about it.
Not to difficult this time.
So even beginning stampers can do this.

Come and join the challenge.
You can enter with any brand, so you're not required to use LCD/CV stamps.
We hope to see you there, and maybe you'll be the winner of the challenge.

inchie Decoration

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi - Darlene here with a decoration I made using a masterboard and doing the
Twinchies, Inches or Dominoes theme this month

Whats a masterboard you ask !!
well basically you take a big piece of cardstock and stamp and colour all over it.
Then it gets cut up for the project you are working on

So here is the masterboard with an assortment of stamps

then I made a 2 X 2 square box with patterened paper
Cut up my masterboard into one inch pieces
Then did a bunch of layers

To finish it off I added a tasel

Be sure to enter our challenge this month and
maybe win some new stamps !!!

Joyful Dragonflies

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello all, Aimee here! When the September Challenge topic was introduced to me as "Inchies/Twinchies," I'll admit I had no idea what that meant. It was explained to me that the stamped design should include 1-inch, 2-inch or 1x2-inch squares. Gotcha. I found it trickier than I imagined--a 1-inch square is REALLY tiny, especially when you have big hands like me haha!
Another challenge was finding a stamp small enough to fit into a 1-inch square. I decided to take one dragonfly from the end of the Dragonflies Border stamp for the "inchies." The Joy stamp fit within a 1x2-inch square. Barely. Follow along to see how I created this card:
I hope you'll give this type of card design a try. Sometimes what seems really simple is more challenging to put together than you think. And when you do, post your creation to the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity for your chance to win a prize.

Inchie Twuinchie Domino: real domino's!

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello everyone, Liesbeth here. Today I break the rules a little bit! ;-)
I stamped onto real dominos for our current challenge Inchies Twinchies Dominos but only the biggest of them is the exactly right size (2"x 1"). I still would like to show them all because the stamps I used are so perfect for domino bricks!

I coloured two dominos with alcohol inks and I stamped them with StazOn - Jet Black.

I love playing with this small sizes, hope you give it a try too! Have fun!
