"Catrina" by LCDesigner Darlene

Darlene is back today with a spooktacular Day of the Dead skellie doll featuring the following Lost Coast Designs stamps:
Catrina's raven stamped fabric
Did you know?    La Calavera Catrina ('Dapper Skeleton' and 'Elegant Skull') is a c1910 zinc etching by the Mexican printmaker, cartoon illustrator and lithographer José Guadalupe Posada.  His original etching depicts her as a female skeleton dressed only in a hat befitting the upper class outfit of a European of that era and was a satirical portrait of Mexican natives who, Posada felt, were aspiring to adopt European aristocratic traditions.  This iconic image is now associated with the Día de Muertos traditions and we have her in our Carmen's Veranda line of rubber stamps too as Skull with Hat!

skeleton. the lady looks great.
