Winged things challenge. The raven.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

What is it about ravens?
They've fascinated humanity for centuries.
There's something magical and yet frightening about them.
LCD has some beautiful stamps featuring ravens.
Now, how the card/AJ was made.

What I used:
LCD stamps,
Black waterresistent inkpad (Versafine)
Distress oxide,
Uncharted mariner,
Chipped sapphire,
Villainous potion,
Musterd seed.
Black soot.
White gelpen
Pink and tuqoise watercolor paint.
Brayer
Wrap foil
Masking tape
Since I have absolutely no drawing talent,
I'm thrilled with the stencils from Angie's Happy Hobby.
I used the stencil to create the large raven.

Tape the stencil with the ravens to your paper.
I started with a circle mask for the moon.
I sponged around the mask with Villainous potion.
I sponged Uncharted Mariner around that, and then Chipped Sapphire around that.
I sponged the base where the raven stands with Black Soot.
Remove the moon mask and sponge the moon with Mustard Seed.

Stamp the raven, the tree and the crow on the bird.
Using the white gel pen, we make white lines on the tree and the birds.

Set your work aside and let it dry completely.
Now we'll move on to the background.
We'll create the background using watercolor paint and plastic wrap.
Let dry.

With the brayer we apply some more Uncharted Mariner and Villainous potion.

Make prints with the window stamp.

And stamp with Versafine the stamp from Pieces of calligraphy.

Cut out the ravens and glue them onto the card.
Matt the card with black, and it's ready.
The challenge runs until the end of the month,
so join in for a chance to win new stamps.
