Sea Shells in Her Hair

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal peeps.  Gail here today with some final inspiration for our Under the Sea challenge.  Challenge closes 23.59 PST 31st May so we hope a few more of you will grab your stamps and join the fun.   I've used one of Lost Coast Designs fabulous mermaids, Butterfly Mermaid, and the awesome Bubbles Background.

I stamped Bubbles Background with versamark ink and embossed with white powder.  I smudged some blue and green distress inks on an acrylic block and spritzed with water til the ink beaded up.  Then I stamped the wet ink over the embossed panel and let it dry.

I stamped Butterfly Mermaid on pink card, coloured with distress markers and fussy cut her.  I cut the panel with a stitch rectangle die, mounted on a dark green base card and stamped the Congratulations down the side.
I hope you feel inspired to take the Under The Sea challenge?
We can't wait to see your projects!
You can submit your entries in the linky party until 23.59 PST on the 31st and don't forget to follow us so you don't miss anything!

Hi eveyone! It´s Liesbeth here with an ,Under the Sea` card to show you for our current challenge. There's still a few days time to join us, hope you do!

On an alcohol ink background (glossy paper) I stamped the mermaid with black StazOn ink and masked her. With green, blue and black StazOn I stamped the border and the stamps of the stamp set. I removed the mask and finished the card with Distress markers, gel pens  and I made a shadow around the mermaid.

See you next time,

When the wave comes

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello, all Cathy here with a quick card for you.
Stamp used:
I started out with some scrap paper that I have used some distress sprays and shimmer sprays on and cut out a ATCoin from it. I then stamped Shark on it 4 times. I felt that it didn't make an outstanding ATCoin so I made it into a card.
Next, I picked out some 'sea' color cardstock for the background and I had some shimmer string (thread) and added that under the ATCoin.
Added a black strip of cardstock to the bottom of the card and put a saying on top.
Lastly, I added some pearls to the front to act as bubbles.

#144, Under the sea.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi there stampers and crafters, Riet here.

Today my second contribution to the "Under the sea" challenge for Lost Coast Designs.
The challenge runs until the end of the month, so there's still plenty of time to participate.
And it is even allowed to participate with other brands.
But now the step by step of this card.

I have used these LCD stamps,
Furthermore I have used:
Dylusions ink spray, Calypso teal, Vibrant turquoise and Funky fuchsia.
Distressink Rusty hinge,
Versafine black onyx,
Color pencils I have used Derwent intense,
but you can decide for yourself how you color the fish.
White pigment ink.
White gel pen,
White posca marker.
Black fineliner that is waterproof.
Stencil with cirkel holes in it.

This is how I made it.
First I sprayed the 3 Dylusionsprays on a sturdy paper.

I did that on 2 sheets, 1 for the card and 1 for the plants I cut later with a die.
With the versafine black I stamped the fish in the places where I want them.
I also stamp them on thin paper to color them in.

For the background I used the crackle stamp and the white pigment ink.
Use only part of the stamp and stamp around the fish.

With a stencil with small circles I drew the bubbles.
and remove some of the ink with water.
With the posca I drew a line on the bubbles as a reflection of the light.

Now we are going to color the fish and give accents with the white gel pen.
Cut them out and glue them to the fish on the card.

I cut out the waterplants with a die on the Big Shot.
Some I gave an orange color with the distress ink Rusty Hindge.
Glue the plants to the card.

Mat the card with black cardstock.
I must say that I absolutely love the fish, so detailed and so much fun to color.

Well I hope you liked it, and feel free to let me know if you have any questions.
And don't forget to join the challenge, you can win new stamps.
You can find the rules here.

Under the Sea: Best Friends

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Howdy to all you Portal viewers from Laurie with a rolodex card for this newest swap:  Under the Sea.  I got into making rolodex cards awhile ago in a Swap Bot group I am part of, and I must say they are a lot of fun to make and keep.  This one uses:

The Sharks stamp from Lost Coast Designs
The Bubbles Border stamp from Lost Coast Designs
The Best Friends clearstamp from Carmen's Veranda

Rolodex cards come in two sizes, and this is the smaller of the two.  Small size measures 2 and 5/8" by 4" The larger sizes measures 3" by 5".  The holes for the rolodex file are located 1 and 3/4" from either end on both sizes.

The background for my card is a gel print made with blue and green acrylic paints.  I then stamped it with the Bubbles Background stamp in a darker shade of Distress turquoise ink and heat set the ink.  When stamping Distress ink onto a painted surface, the ink takes time to dry, so heat setting it speeds up the process and gives you a nice dry surface to work with.

The sharks were stamped onto white card stock with blue and green Distress Oxide Inks and fussy cut out.  I attached them to the card front with some foam tape and added googly eyes to each.  Little clear acrylic dew drops were glued in place to look like bubbles.  The sentiment was stamped with black ink onto a white strip of paper edged in green and affixed to the top of the card as shown.

We can't wait to see your sea themed projects for this current challenge.  Be sure to use some rubber stamping in your work and you could be the lucky winner of some free stamps!!

The Serious Moonlight

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Good morning and a very happy Friday, it's nearly the weekend again! It's Sue here, and for my second project for our Under The Sea challenge, I've made a giant tag.

I started by making a gelli print background using my new Lavinia ink pads and Brusho's. The inks are wonderful, so juicy, I now need a full set lol.

I cut my tag using a die from a slimline card set. Then I stamped the bubbles border and embossed it in white.

I thought it looked nice, but a bit too clean so I decided to grunge it up a little. I dripped and sprayed some paints and dried off with my heat gun.

I liked it a lot better, but I really wished that I'd stamped the bubbles lengthways, so I started all over again lol. I used the spare one to die cut my moon and stars.

Next I stamped and cut out my Doodle Seahorses.

I love the way the paints have dripped and run.
These are my lovely stamps. I've used

I hope you like it and that you join in with us for the chance to win some Lost Coast $'s.
Take care and have a very happy weekend x

# 144, Under the sea.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi there, Riet here.
Today it's an easy card.
But first what I used to make the card.
Black Stazon.
Distressink Black soot.
A stencil.
3 colors of Glimmermist or other spray ink.
Coloring pencils.

I started with spraying 3 colors of glimmermist.
Orange, turquoise and green, on a stencil.
Turn the stencil over and place it on the paper so that you get an inverted print.
Let it dry, in the meantime you can color the mermaid.
You can also stamp the text with stazon black.
Cut out and smear the edges with Distressink Black soot.
Cut out the mermaid.
Glue everything to the card and mat it on black cardstock.
And your done.

Now it's up to you, make something with the theme "under the sea" too.
And join the challenge. So fun to participate.
And of course you have a chance to win.
So click on the link and join the challenge.
Hope to see you there.

Strong Women: Knitting Circle

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

It's Laurie here with a fun card to wrap up our "Strong Women" challenge here on the Portal.  We want to see your projects depicting what "Strong Women" means to you.

For this one I used the Early Stitch and Bitch stamp from Lost Coast Designs and the Fairy Godmother clear stamp from Carmen's Veranda.

I stamped the women knitting onto white card stock with black ink and fussy cut it out.  I added some Copic Sketch Markers to their hands and faces and went over their dresses with a gray marker.  The yarn they are using was colored blue.  I attached this to a piece of card stock that looks like old vintage wallpaper.  The sentiment was stamped with black ink and cut out.  I outlined the edges with black as well and affixed it to the upper right corner as shown.  Final step was to glue a blue flower in the left corner.

You still have time so submit your "Strong Women" projects before the challenge closes.  You might be the lucky winner of some free stamps from Lost Coast Designs or Carmen's Veranda!

#143 Strong woman challenge

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello everyone, Riet here.
Today a card for the challenge with the subject "strong women".
I have chosen the Lycaonia stamp
I think it is a real strong woman as she sits there between her wolves.
For the background I used the grunge tree stamp.
The text is by Carmens Veranda, there you will find the funniest and most beautiful texts and sayings.

What else did I use:
Smooth cardboard.
Clear embossing powder.
Spray ink in turquoise.
Pencils or markers for coloring.
Versamark.
Stazon black.
Clear embossing powder.

How did I make it.
I first stamped the Grunge tree with Versamark.
And sprinkled with the embossing powder.
Melted the embossing powder with the heat tool.
When the card has cooled down, spray the spray ink on it.
Do the same with the card with the text.
Now set it aside and let it air dry.
Continue with the Lycaonia stamp.
Stamp with stazon black on a thin paper and color it.
Cut out the stamp.
The map is now dry and we will continue with this.
Take a sheet of paper and place it on the card and text card.
Use a warm iron to iron off the embossing powder.
But if you like it better with the embossing powder, you can also skip this step.
Now glue the Lycaonia image on the card.
Assemble the card further as in the example, or according to your own idea.

So feel free to join.
You have a chance to win beautiful stamps.
And you can even participate with other stamp brands.
Please read the rules to avoid misunderstandings.
I wish you the best of luck and, above all, a lot of fun making your creation.

She Made Broken Look Beautiful

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Good morning and a very happy Friday. It's Sue here with my journal pages for our Strong Women challenge.

I started by cutting my pages from smooth card and stamping with the Flowers background stamp. It's such a beautiful stamp even before it's coloured.

I used my Tim Holtz distress pens to colour them in.

Frida has also been coloured with Distress pens. I love this sentiment and think it fits in perfectly with Frida and our challenge.

And these are my lovely stamps. I've used

Frida 1

Flowers   and

Carmen's Veranda Broken sentiment.

I hope you like her, and join in with our challenge. Remember there are Lost Coast $'s to be won, so be sure to link up!

Have a very happy weekend, and thanks so much for looking x
