Christmas Angel

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello Portal Peeps!  Gail here today with more Paper Piecing fun.   A friend commented that she didn't like fussy cutting unless it was big bits.  Big bits is fine.  There are some nice big bits on this lovely Lost Coast Designs Christmas Angel with Halo and I really had fun paper piecing this one.

Doesn't she look splendid!
Someone asked me why would you might want to paper piece something.  Well, I suppose it's a bit like patchwork, it allows you to use up some smaller scraps that maybe you would just throw away.   It saves having to colour.  Today I did a lot of tone on tone stamping just using plain paper and letting the inks supply the contrast and patterns.  It also gives a subtle dimension that I like.

Here's my angel stamped on my scraps.  I decided to gold emboss the red piece because I wanted a bit of extra opulence for my red frame.

I mounted the angel on a nice yellow card base and stamped the Party Words sentiment with Mulberry archival ink, which I also used to edge the layers.

Join the Paper Piecing fun for a chance to win Lost Coast dollars and don't forget to keep checking back for more awesome inspiration from the team.
